  1. Past hour
  2. 5. Extending moton - why just why would you do that?
  3. I can agree with that but I don't think it was the college part that was the mistake - it's the lack of NFL experience that was the mistake. It's the same mistake he has made with Canales. Both had limited experience in the NFL. Canales had a little more but he only had 1 season as an OC and that was in a system with a strong support system as well and a developed QB. It's hard to know how much of the offenses' success was because of Canales, and how much of it was because of the sytem he worked in. Especially given how successful that team continues to play without him.
  4. BY regresses every offseason. It's got to be stressful just knowing you don't have the tools to do your job and their isn't anything you can do to change that fact. Then he shows up and they have to spend the first part of the season trying to match the offense to what he can do while other teams are building on improving. Now him sitting while the team improves without him and then him showing up to play Bryce ball is when he is at his best...because everyone else had a break from his effect to improve so it then looks better out of context.
  5. Jamarcus Russell had as many wins as bryce does in 7 less starts. let that sink in. JAMARCUS RUSSELL winning percentage DWARFS young....
  6. I honestly think there's a very good chance that Canales can see it. I just don't know if it's his call. I don't know that he has the ability to bench Bryce without Tepper's blessing. It happened last year so there's hope, I just hope it happens again soon. We need to see Dalton starting ASAP while there's still time on the clock before the trade deadline. We have options right now. We won't have options left in a few weeks. Even if you end up blowing it all up and doing a full reset after this season, you gotta show those candidates that you gave the current crew every chance to be successful because I think the common belief out there in NFL circles right now is that you're fighting a massive uphill battle working for David Tepper.
  7. Last years draft class is a complete bust. Trevin and CSW are two or our worst defenders and that’s saying a lot. Brooks will probably never be the same. XL could get cut tomo and it would make zero difference Sanders is meh at best You simply can’t afford to miss on entire class when you’re already lacking talent across the entire roster His idea for fixing the OL was to back up the brinks trucks to two guards. Our OL is an absolute mess right now. He paid Moton. We have zero pass rush. Zero. This is year 2. He’s had 2 drafts and 2 free agencies to do something. This team doesn’t look like it’s made any progress from last season and that’s the real nail in the coffin for me
  8. Man, we're past that now. We missed the boat. We crapped out. Only people like "sunshiny" Dave Canales can't see it, don't want to see it, or just don't want to admit it in public for whatever reasons. Maybe the Teppers are suffering from escalation commitment or the sunk-cost fallacy and have their employees mouths on lock. Whatever and whoever is to blame, I hope that the Bryce experience culminates in him being benched and traded sooner rather than later. Evero can go fly a kite too.
  9. Maybe he had a turtle head and was afraid if he kicked to hard he'd pinch one off.
  10. Yep that is exactly how that went. No deep threat. This whole thing with Bryce, we are supposed to know first hand what happens when they don’t respect the deep ball. It is so damned ignorant to intentionally put yourself in a situation like we had with Cam, with a player who has none of Cam’s physical advantages to boot. So it’s gonna be even tougher and you are supposed to smart enough to know that.
  11. That was the only team that Andy had their number. He's almost always beaten the Raiders so I'm sure that had something to do with the win as well.
  12. I agree that BY has regressed. I think he can't handle the pressure and/or defenses have figured something out regarding his play. I also think BY is showing that he doesn't trust himself. I mean, why would he?
  13. Yeah, I honestly think we're in about that same situation right now. Put a ROY level QB talent on this roster and we could probably win about 6 games. Similar to Cam's rookie year. I don't think anyone is arguing that we're a good team.
  14. It only takes 1 to make the impossible possible. I still doubt a trade materializes when it's known we all need a split. I could see him as a waiver pickup because no one with a brain is picking up his 5th or him being a straight free agent. QB supply doesn't come close to demand so Zack Wilson is on the other team this weekend. Who knows but I think he will play elsewhere somehow. Someone will pick him up but beyond that I can only guess. It will be great to have the laughs be on another team and not the Panthers that I do know.
  15. the offense hummed wk 3 against the raiders, the rest of the games meh
  16. I would have liked us to bring in competition. But, we don't know what Morgan and/or Tepper had to say about that, nor who we could get to come in that would have been a huge upgrade over Dalton. To his credit, if BY is as bad as he seems to be - that handful of games at the end of last season does indicate that Canales may be able to bring out the absolute best in someone, lol.
  17. At this rate I don't see Bryce remaining the starter the entire season. Canales, based on his play calling, has shown that he doesn't trust Bryce. I think he's tried to build off last year but Bryce regresses to his (sucky) baseline when pressure is on.
  18. I don't blame him for the Harbaugh thing. That was never going to work. There's no way Tepper and Harbaugh can coexist. What I hope Tepper can eventually wrap his head around is that the folks who can coexist with him aren't the folks who are going to build a winner. It seems like he went all in on Rhule and realized that was a mistake but misidentified the mistake. The mistake wasn't handing over the reigns to a football guy, the mistake was handing over the reins to a career college guy.
  19. 4. Resigning Andy dalton fug me there a lot
  20. What makes it worse this time is the fact Dave keeps preaching how he and his staff are a developmental staff I’m going to assume from day 1 this whole “development” schtick was just a way for him to buy himself some extra time from Tepper I can’t think of one player that has made legitimate progress under Canales’ staff Coker proved he could play last preseason. Wasn’t anything Dave did. I can’t think of anyone else someone might say
  21. Plausible deniabilaty isn't going to cut it any longer. He used that card last season. This season he chose to hitch his wagon to a pony when he needed a strong horse. So now that his pony is not going to pull the wagon we should just sit back and ignore the rest of his incompetence? I'm sorry, I cannot get on board with that.
  22. for the record I dont want DC fired even if we land on 5ish wins. I want to see him in year 3 with "his" guy running his offense. I still dont have a ton of faith in the youth paster shtick but he still deserves a year 3
  23. Remember when the team sucked because we had Clausen, then we inserted Cam (along with a few other pieces) and the team instantly got better? I'd say we have a competitive team but QB1 is the achilles heel.
  24. Which is why not returning Harbaughs calls and doing a token interview with Vrabel is fuging maddening. 2 good coaches that needed jobs and the teppers once again tried to outsmart the system
