Which side of the ball needs more help?
Basbear replied to micnificent28's topic in Carolina Panthers
I swear with pcikett added, this HAS to be a bottom 3 draft room. Id take raiders over Panthers, about the only two Id say are lower Jets? Cards? that's about it. There's around 4-5 other groups in the talk, but Ive seen 3 years of BY and even a Murray or Sanders or Ward feel like a better options than Pickett or BY.... Im Soo happy about the other position group and the draft picks, then I think of the QB room and -
I think Andy Reid taught me a lesson many moons ago. I always seem to find myself with a small group of players at the draft spot and thus more confused than normal. Andy- draft DL, you can not go wrong. They rotate more than other spots and get injuries more as well. Mind spark, "yes he's right". Thus I formed some draft "rules" over the years. Then college rules changed as well, thus les time for OL to learn the position. There's 3 spots I feel you need to draft every year- WR, OL, and DL. Of course not "100%", just each draft pool use 3 out of the 8 picks on those 3 is a good method. Each for different reasons, but Andy started it with his wisdom.

Panthers signing Packers LT Rasheed Walker
shaqattaq replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
So...if we go LT at 19, and Walker is the backup, he gets $4M. If he plays, and plays his ass off, he gets $10M. Win, win!!! Last week I was hoping for a similar deal for Nijman, and Walker > Nijman. DMo getting poo done! -
Which side of the ball needs more help?
MHS831 replied to micnificent28's topic in Carolina Panthers
Defense and it is not even close--not even based on last year, how we have recently drafted, etc. On D, we could use a starting FS, LB, and DT. Depth at CB. On O, we need our future LT and possibly RT, but neither is likely to start right away. Center? depth and maybe next year's starter. Starting TE. -
He is not as athletic as the other guys in his class. It would only hurt his stock at this point...

I was a former draft nut and had ample time in the 2010s. I too researched about the consensus top 150, it made me hate marty herniay more. Like you the other teams not knowing, it killed my "want to" to spend the hours. Teams are soooo much better now, but during that time it was after the mid 3rd, then everyone had different draft boards now. After early 5th, pure dart tossing by some teams. I stopped caring sooo much about the 6th and 7th rounds too(minus the Trey Smith >> LS, smith is the highest paid OG now).. Before like that I never cared much about about the draft, then I went full-draft nut...now Im more of a "normie" draft fan with cheats. Just a panther fan and whoever they pick, I try to support to my best....Even with BY, a was 100% against, but gave him until "I didn't do anything this off-season" with his his tooth-tick arms and "whatever mindset"/////. I mean I know much more around the guys in 15-30 than the top 10, except styles...... I've gone thought all draft phases, the current one is the best one for now...

Is he hurt? I don’t understand why he would make that decision otherwise.

Thought JRodz could jump him before this. Without a verified 40, I’d say it’s a certainty he’s jumped.
-
Mo Saleh out here taking penalties with the same pace and accuracy my 5 year old has on his soccer team, the DinoScores.

I didn't realize the games started a little later today. Threw this in before my last meeting, just wrapped for the day, and tuning in to find Liverpool on the board already. SMU's athleticism is going to absolutely overwhelm Miami OH.

The teams researched this class over a year ago. All they had to do is gather the scouts and rank them according to their criteria. That’s their secret sauce for breaking down a draft class. I think I heard Dan say in a recent interview that they started with nearly 1000 players and eventually cut it down to 250 before the combine. They pretty much know what group will be available to them at all their picks so I bet they have their board narrowed Dan to less than 50, give or take a dozen. But they have done research on every draft prospect plus all possible UDFA’s. I’ve given up on trying to predict a draft because there’s 32 teams out there and they all have their own rankings and their own agenda.

I think as long as BY9 is QB our offense will be lackluster. Our defense can make up for this by being dominate. Plus as a Panther fan who is used to having stellar defenses, the product we have put out there the pas decade makes me sick -
That the point of using the mocks, at least for me. I too, do not follow college like I use too. Now you can use the mock sim and learn about players within the picks(or course it changes if trades happen). Still I look at pick 13-18 (same for other rounds)and include that into learning, cause even these draft sims don't know how teams will draft. Then you factor in needs and wants and BANG you have "cheated" your way into becoming a draft...a panther draft "expert". You can also use the public knowledge of player visits and layer it over the mock sims too, gives you another understanding. You don't need to "research" 150 players, just the ones around when Panthers are schedule to pick. Then you form "favorites" and such to make the draft more interesting. Now I've exposed myself, wave to those Canadian geese for me......

The front office continues to make intelligent decisions: If they would have cut Andy, Panthers would have saved $150K in cap space If they traded Andy, for anything even for a pick swap, Panthers save $2.1 in cap space we just received a '27 7th rounder and saved $2 million for a player we didn't need anymore

Breaking: Panthers add RB AJ Dillon
mrcompletely11 replied to therealmjl's topic in Carolina Panthers
This is just a camp body. The dude has been cooked for 3 years now. He will not come close to the final roster. I would bet any 6th rd rb selected would be more productive than him. -
Exactly.
