  1. Past hour
  2. He earned his contract for sure. Fell off later. He ain’t gonna like playing Baltimore twice though. Lol. I am not sure he went to the best situation, but I don’t know his options.
  3. Yeah that's why we are stuck with Ickys fifth year cap hit this season because we picked it up last offseason.
  4. He is fine if he represents the floor of what we require from WR. Hope he stays healthy and helps us.
  5. I think loyd coming in opens the door for a wider net of LB. We got the coverage guy now, and while the game evolves to a pass happy league, I think a thumper inside can still have a place on the draft boards. I think there are 4-5 guys in 2nd to maaaaaaybe 3r round we can look at for the do it all or thumper role. Sonny Style (not lasting) CJ Allen (little nervous on size and coverage) Anthony Hill Jr (who I want) Rodriguez (want, but there are concerns) Golday (thumper!) Trotter (run stuffer) Add a joker in Kyle Louis who is a great college player that has athleticism, but cannot peg him as a SS/FS/WLB/ILB. He just produces and a skilled DC will get a lot out of him. Great coverage guy, and quickly diagnoses a play and gets there in a hurry. Just undersized as a LB not as quick as you want for the safety roll if he gets switched onto a WR. Now RB and TE, he can cover well. Honestly a deep LB class.
  6. Thanks for the education on that, wasn't aware of this. Seems odd and counterintuitive, but in Lloyds case I guess that worked to our advantage.
  7. I am a little worried over the signing. Health concerns mostly. I think the people that grade it poorly are focusing on sacks as their bar. His pressure rates were just outstanding. That can lead to poor decisions being made. Bad throws. Sacks by teammates. I won’t pretend there is no overpay but the guy could have taken less to stay and still been set for life. Maybe he doesn’t think their SB window is still open now, and he might be right. Maybe he thinks there is a bright future for the Panthers. I don’t know. I would think that has some part in it. Parse the words in primarily, I guess, but the phrase “big impression on people”, it is just a true statement. Meaning what it said on its face. I saw so much on twitter and media in the aftermath of that game that told me people took notice. For a lot of them it changed their perception of the Panthers. PS the money is what it is. Parsons is getting 47 per year. Lots of guys get 30 or will get 30 moving forward. Colts paid nearly that for 47 receptions and right at 1000 yards. Under 60 yards per game average. poo is changing in two years it won’t really be noteworthy.
  8. The deadline for picking up 5th year options is before season 4, not after.
  9. We better be trying to get multiple years so if we get a new QB in 27 they'll be ready to go
  10. I don't think our TE group is bad at all but to get a beast in there would definitely be a boost. Wonder if Njoku is a good blocker? Might be a factor considering LT is up in the air.
  11. There’s meat on the bone as a pass rusher. I know there is, don’t know if he’ll get a shot but he’s a solid ST’r
  12. On the Canales doesn't use TE's talk. For the most part the bread and butter for TE's is the middle of the field or to the sideline is it not? I specifically remember Newton and Olsen being deadly on those quick outs to the sideline. Realistically neither is something that our starting QB has shown consistent success with 3 years in the league.
  13. (5) John Ellis on X: "REPORTS: Isaiah Simmons will return for the Panthers in 2026. Late in the Wild Card game v LAR, the former Clemson star executed one of the most clutch ST plays in team history. https://t.co/fxI4bAkzyB" / X
  14. I read your "big impression on people" as a primary factor. Like I said, I'm glad we did something and if it works out it will be worth every penny. But on simple prior on field value, we significantly overpaid for Phillips. I'm not as worried about Lloyd's deal as it's easy to get out of in two years if he isn't what we paid for. But it does worry me his former team didn't want to pick up his fifth year option coming off a stellar 2025 for him. We shall see.
  15. Fingers crossed for Bills but who knows he’s getting older maybe the Bucs will hamstring themselves with a bad contract.
  16. Thumbs up to a great signing of a player we really needed.
  17. I mean, he uses them here. Does he use them to the degree we used an Olsen? Haven’t seen it. I guess you could claim that is because we don’t have an Olsen. Or is it maybe we don’t have an Olsen because we don’t sufficiently value an Olsen. Or maybe we don’t value an Olsen because we don’t feel the QB can really utilize a TE the way an Olsen was utilized? And if Canales had more QB to work with he would change his M.O. I do not want to take TE at 19. If we do, I guess we’ll find out the answer to the secret. They did use Jimmy Graham some in Seattle. For a little while. I can’t even think of the name of their other TEs. PS yes Martz, or the GM that negotiated the swap, fuged up with the Olsen deal. But some coaches don’t want that much from their TE. Olsen was unhappy with the situation. If he had an Olsen would Canales trade him away? I would hope not.
  18. Phillips took a steep overpay that any other human in his shoes would have signed. But he is undoubtedly very talented. Lloyd looks to be a situation of he quickly realized the value of himself in his and his agents eyes did not align with the rest of the league based on the sample size. I mean when your top suitors are the mess that is the Bengals and the Panthers that doesn't make it a very difficult decision.
  19. You use the word primarily, did anyone actually make that claim? To say it wasn’t a factor, would be less than realistic. And then who is lying to themselves?
  20. There are worse options. I'm not bothered by Moore returning as long as the contract is basically bare minumum.
  21. I heard Morgan speak about what he wanted in a LB. Defensive captain. QB. A guy that could make plays using athleticism and instincts, wear the green dot, and command the respect of the other ten guys… If I find the clip I’ll post it. If you heard him say it and you have any ego at all you want to be that guy. I think Dan probably laid it on him.
  22. I'd actually be really interested to see Bryce with a beast of a TE like Njoku. We all know how much Shockey and Olsen meant for Cam in those early years. Haven't a safety blanket and matchup nightmare like Njoku actually would evolve this offense tbh (well, that and an actual QB)
  23. David Moore CARWide Receiver#83 Panthers re-signed WR David Moore. The financials of the deal were not immediately made available. Moore managed only four appearances for the Panthers in 2025 due to a serious elbow injury and was made a healthy inactive for the team’s Wild Card loss to the Rams. Familiarity with head coach Dave Canales and his veteran presence in the locker room were enough to warrant a new contract, although he is likely to play behind Tetairoa McMillan, Xavier Legette, and Jalen Coker.
