Watching 2024 week 1 Cannales Presser again
Super Grateful replied to Newtcase's topic in Carolina Panthers
Canales' presser next year week 1 if we keep him and Bryce: -
Ngl, I watched Jamarcus closely, because if he could put it all together, he was a fuging specimen. And even him not giving a poo and not trying, he was still 1000x more enjoyable to watch and more competitive than Bryce. Most of that is because he had the physical tools. Bryce does not, which makes it damn near unbearable to watch week after week.

Yeah no doubt, the eery part is it could almost be the same game. Starts off talking about three turnovers and it tracks pretty close as it goes on. -
to be honest man, I knew he wasn't it on that first interception to Jessie Bates in his first game.

I've never liked this carousel. GM/Coach/QB carousel that is. When you cycle through them there's always a scapegoat. We've had 3 GMs, 7 Head coaches (including interims), and 9 different quarterbacks (starting) since Tepper bought the team. By and large this has been rotational with coaches inheriting quarterbacks, or GMs inheriting coaches or even worse GMs not picking their coaches. It's just terrible organizational hierarchy all the time, very dysfunctional. Hire your GM, let him hire his coach and get the players that coach says he need for his vision. Create top down accountability. Cannales was hired to make Bryce look like a good draft pick, if he can't do that then he's failed at the thing he had to have sold himself on. Morgan was a head scratcher from day one. A hold over from the Fitterer mistakes, certainly no history of success as an executive. Has always felt like a yes man for Tepper or a blindfolded visions of going young everywhere and letting them learn on the job. Just terrible, terrible organizational vision in a league being dominated by real professionals. -
I had bought in late last season...but that was Dan orlovsky running through the back of the end zone bad. I was like, this shot is over.

Xavier Legette fuging sucks
Super Grateful replied to Sean Payton's Vicodin's topic in Carolina Panthers
not sure if anyone has mentioned this yet, but when I first heard XL talk - I thought he sounded...simple. a nice, downhome, simple country boy. a lot of people think his accent and vocabulary are entertaining, but to me he does not sound like someone who can digest an NFL playbook along with all of the written and unwritten rules of being a pro. It really showed today. -
This is actually kind of a really weird week 1. Besides the 2 MVPs going at it right now, no QB seemed to have a good game today with the exception of the Jets/Steelers. I mean who saw that one coming?
-
The gameplan was terrible and I think they fugged him mentally instead of doing what worked to get him in a comfort zone like he was the end of last year. It was clear they were playing not to lose the game instead of win the game and Canales was much too intent on forcing the run game instead of getting the offense in a groove. You could see it from the start: take the play clock down, run the ball, shorten the game, throw on 3rd down when you have to. But you can’t go a whole game relying on converting 3rd downs 6 times per drive or whatever. Every single first down took 3 full downs. I remember the first time we actually got a run for a first down, on first down (the Rico Dowdle run) the refs gave us a terrible spot and made it a 2nd and 1 instead, and then we snap the ball again at 0 and run the most predictable run play in the history of mankind and lose 2 yards now we’re back to a 3rd and 3 or 4 or whatever it was at that point. It’s not sustainable. He’s so concerned about protecting the ball but doesn’t seem to realize we’ll never win the turnover battle because we have a defense that doesn’t generate turnovers and an offense that doesn’t keep the defense honest. A knee to go into half time down 17 with 1 second on the clock? Come the fug on. That crap mentality has infected this team. The Jags went for it on 4th and 1 from their own 40 on the first possession of the game and it set the tone for the rest of the game. Why did they go back to what clearly didn’t work with Bryce and abandon what worked at the end of last season. Stop trying to force poo and play the game that’s in front of you.

Yep, sure did.

I mean most of these press conferences by losing coaches sound the same. They made more plays, missed opportunities, gotta get off the field on 3rd down, etc. -
Bills just got screwed on the spot and the rest.

the thing that worries me is that since Tepper has a rep for firing coaches, I think he will give Dave longer than he deserves. Sadly, a lot of this has to do with Evero who should not have been retained. Dave seems like a nice, cool guy but his rah rah youth pastor shtick isn't working as an NFL HC. Especially paired with a youth pastor QB. -

That’s what my more practical side tells me. But if Tepper feels extra embarrassed, then who knows -
Either of these teams would drop 60 on us
-
Sure sounds good
-
Absolutely insane watching these two offenses and then knowing Carolina could never fuging ever dream of something like this
-
I dont need em to win just want them to manage to cover +10.5
-
Lol maybe next time cam will jump on the fumbles oh wait
-
The Fins are the last team we want to be mentioned with. They just got dogwalked by a team starting Daniel Jones.
-
Doesn't matter what the Bills do on offense, their D has zero answer for the Lamar/Henry two headed monster rushing attack.
-
I'm not sure you gonna get that cover. I'd put up a prayer circle if I was you. lol

I’m not sure Dave is on the hot seat. I think Bryce has the shorter leash. Dave nor Morgan drafted Bryce. Think they will get a shot to draft their own QB and let the chips fall where they may from there. I still think Canales has a chance to be a successful coach here, but there are going to be a lot of bumps and growing pains along the way. Evero and Bryce will be shown the door before Canales. -
Well yes that. But I meant even before that. In 2015 and 2016 when they allowed the refs to actively push for Manning and the Broncos in the Super Bowl and our QB to be headhunted. And that was all despite the fact that our extremely gullible previous owner at the time went out of his way at every turn to be subservient to the league office even to the detriment of our franchise. No way in hell I'll just turn the page and start rooting for another team like it never happened. Just my .2 cents.
