  2. What a strange and nonsensical law you have in North Carolina. Smitty is being sued for $100,000. The husband of the woman who reportedly had an affair with Smith is suing the NFL great for over $100,000 in a civil lawsuit filed Tuesday, according to the Charlotte Observer. The lawsuit — which was filed in Mecklenburg County Superior Court in North Carolina — accused Smith of engaging in a months-long affair with a member of the Ravens' marching band. https://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/article/ex-panthers-great-steve-smith-sued-under-homewrecker-law-for-alleged-affair-with-ravens-marching-band-member-172848397.html
  3. 1st team all-SEC last season so he was doing something right. Sacks are great but if you are making plays in the backfield and disrupting the play I'm good with that also.
  4. Christensen re-signing eases some of my concerns about Moton in the short-term. Yeah, he's not Moton but it's not like we're going to have to trot Byron Bell out there if he can't make it.
  5. the ONLY issue I have the Morgan's draft is that they went RB Etienne at 111 and then Safety (Strong Safety) Ransom at 122. Having signed Moehrig, they should have drafted Bowman (who was picked at 118) at 111 and hoped for Etienne at 122.
  6. Yea he said he didn't like the Tet thing. I'm hoping he a star, 6'4 ex volleyball player so you know he got the jumps.
  7. I still think the O and talent sort of runs counter to his natural style of play. So, I still think we have a fit issue more than any other.
  8. They should. People can rah rah all they want, it's not going to change how he performs. All he has proven so far is that he deserves another chance this year. If he comes out looking like he did last year he will be benched and replaced in next years draft.
  9. I agree. Foles is just funny because he did it during the playoffs.
  10. Matt Moore was doubted after 2009. People should still have doubts about Bryce.
  11. There's always going to be a lot of guesswork in projecting talent to a higher level of competition. Plenty of 4 and 5 star recruits bust at the college level too and the #1 overall pick this year was a literal zero star recruit coming out of HS. Like we just don't see this guy as a college player level "recruit". And he was a Heisman finalist and now a #1 overall NFL draft pick.
  12. Shemar Stewart was reported by TAMU to be weighing 290 and showed up to the combine @ 267. Shemar Turner was also reported to be 300 but showed up to the combine @ 290. Granted, Turner is much less egregious but yea those TAMU linemen had to put on extra weight in order to execute the scheme effectively. I bet these guys can't wait to finally start pinning their ears back with their new aerodynamic builds.
  13. I loved our draft outside of the 4th round. I felt there were better RBs available than Etienne and better safeties than Ransom, but I don't hate either pick. Our 5th round could end up being the best value we've had in a draft since Josh Norman.
  14. I know who I don't want... If he put up these grades in Baltimore's defense, I'd hate to see what he'd look like here.

  16. I think football is especially tough because it’s difficult to isolate performance from the context of their teammates, opponents, coaching, etc. Baseball is the most individual team sport, and everyone has one job to score. Hit the ball. But they still can’t figure out who’s gonna be able to hit major league pitchers and who isn’t.
  17. I mean, the NFL is full of QBs who have put together a couple games. Young wasn’t even playing on fire/balling really. It was pretty average play. It was just stark constrast to what he did prior. can’t paint Bryce as any sort of certainty IMO yet
  18. Great news! Rod expects him to practice tomorrow... and with our series not starting until Monday at the earliest I think he will be back! We won't beat the Caps without him
  19. Yep, there's busts and steals in every draft and it's just always going to be that way I don't care how hard you try to analytics your way out of it. There's just too many potential variables to account for.
  20. The hit rate (players that sign second contracts with the team that drafted them) is less than 50%. Of course, there are a number of reasons for this, and sometimes even a good player will sign with another team for his second contract. But if you get two starters and a decent backup out of any one draft, you are doing good.
  21. At best, the draft is an educated guess on a coin flip. For all the scouting and analytics we have now, the hit rate on prospects hasn't gotten any better. Some guys make the jump and some don't.
  22. Yeah, imo its impossible to know how well a draft worked for at least two years.
  23. Yeah I was sold on all the Husky receivers, Polk didn’t just hit a rookie wall, he was barely able to get to the wall to attempt to make it over lol. Both him and that over the top UCF WR were hyped and fell flat on their faces.
