They were key additions but weren't young top free agents.

DG had a good one in 2015 too. Oher, Ginn, Coleman, Tillman. Then traded for sunsetting Jared Allen.

I would be all for taking a Safety that high because I believe with an intelligent DC a roaming Safety (whatever name you want to call it) can completely change the ways you can attack and neutralize an Offensive gameplan. See Nick Emmanwori effects on Seattle back end defense scheme most recently. Unfortunately I don't have that much faith with our current defensive coaching staff to get that type of immediate return and effectiveness out of that position and in return wasting that kind of draft capital. We wouldn't get the most out of a 1st Rd Safety compared to a OT, IOL, TE, ILB, DL or EDGE with our current coaching staff in my opinion. So i doubt we go this route but I wouldn't hate it.

I like it cause when he hit people they go backwards . Coverage suspect but he def deserve more looks as a back up

Maybe, but UDFA Thornton was the second highest rated rookie CB in 2025. I think he will find some pt. I think we might take a nickel CB later, like that kid from Duke.

Incredible that they where able to fill almost all the holes with quality players. Dan and the F.O really kicked some ass and took names. Amazing how they are able to stretch the cap and move money around to accomplish these signings. This team has just improved by miles in a matter of one week. If they stay healthy, the sky's the limit. Good job boys!

I think Rozeboom will be back if we don’t draft a guy. We had no LB depth last year. Hell, there’s probably a chance we bring Rozeboom back and draft a guy Day 3 for the hell if it.

We can draft a tackle and not rush him to start or have to worry about starting him and he not being ready.

Id like to see something like: 1st- BPA 2nd- C 3rd T (If BPA in 1st wasn’t a tackle; skill guy otherwise)

He has a very good demeanor. He speaks like Luke, Morgan, TD......even similar to Evero.

also not that i care what pundits have to say but everyone said the panthers had the best FA in 2006 Kemoeatu and Hartwig were two of the top five on everyone's board, and they added Keyshawn as well. Kemo was fine, Hartwig got hurt and replaced by Ryan Kalil, and Keyshawn couldn't catch balls throw from left handed QBs.

eh, it was a big deal at the time. obviously fell apart in hindsight 2005 was Ken Lucas and Mike Wahle. Those were huge signings at the time. 2011 was insane but it was resigning all their own guys. I still can't believe they gave James Anderson 50 million dollars jesus christ

This is great news and makes the draft exciting.

I’m all for going Safety since this draft has some interesting prospects, but I’ve never seen this franchise value the Safety position that high so I’m not holding my breath.
