I get what you're saying. When I looked at his performance, just the QB role, that was a good game. It was a good game I would expect from a franchise level QB. It's not a game I would classify as a stellar performance. It's the same standard I hold any QB to. I'm not holding Young to anything different. The statement was that was a stellar game. I didn't think it was and gave my reasons why. You may think it is. Perfectly acceptable. I think stellar performance is one you sit down and watch and say look how <player> took over and dominated the game. He controlled the game. He controlled the offense. He was the driving force behind the win. I don't think he met all those qualifications to call it stellar. That's all. -
As for the arms race... The Canes are currently being linked to Quinn Hughes trade speculation.
-
Sounds like the Oilers are trading for Tristan Jarry. It'll be interesting to see what the package is. Jarry is playing lights out. And, Pittsburgh is not exactly out of the hunt at this point. They don't exactly need to move him. Either way, if the deal goes through, this will be the first domino to fall in the the Stanley Cup arms race. If Edmonton (or any other team out west) is gonna have any chance against the Avs, they're gonna need a brick wall in net.

Couldn't you find a play in every game with every QB were they got credit for a TD or some yardage but it wasn't really because of anything special they did. Tha's just part of the game. And if you are going to say Young doesn't deserve credit for the TD, then couldn't you make the same claim with Chuba. I mean all Chuba did was run in a straight line. He didn't juke anyone or break tackles - just ran straight to the end zone. He was able to because of great execution: the pass was good and his blockers all hit their man allowing him to go in untouched. So does he really deserve credit it for the TD. Again, I'm not trying to be argumentative. It just seems Young is held to a diffrent standard than other young QBs.

Bryce Young is going to be a bust that I would not touch with a ten foot pole after this 3rd season is over Shedeur Sanders on the other hand is going to turn out to be a really good franchise Qb watch Carolina & Cleveland both figure out a way to screw this up in the end.Carolina will extend Bryce Young which of course will be a HUGE mistake & Cleveland will draft a first round Qb in the upcoming draft which will also be a HUGE mistake ..just saying myCb

As you attempt to lose people in your lengthy posting….remember your initial disagreement was our RBs aren’t better. And that’s a reference to our skills position players in the backfield. We are just flat out better there. And you are for some reason trying to manifest Rico into this injured player while trying to elevate a clearly down Kamara via some hot tub machine point remains, ask legit NFL fans if they would rather have the Panthers backfield in 2025 or the Saints. It’s easily Carolina. As most NFL fans arent playing gymnastics to try paint Bryce in a worse position than Shough. one team has a good rushing attack and on has weak rushing attack. You can type 8,000 words and it won’t change that.

No, I did

Packers, Rams, Jets, both Falcon games were all decent to good (one, argubly two great) including a bunch of fourth quarter comebacks. As far as last game bias, that goes both ways.

I want to jump out the window most days. Enjoy your time off sir. Let's get some Panther victories along the way.

NFL game performance isn't cumulative. Week 15 Bryce isn't the same as Week 1 Bryce. And i gotta go back again to the should / will distinction. My opinion of Bryce is that he's not good enough. My expectation of what's gonna happen is that he's still our starter through at least next season. None of that is statistical.

Millionaire crying about not having fun. Try my job for a week. Every night I travel to the gentlemen's club. Clock in. Go to the girls dressing room and find them outfits, massage them when they get stressed. Help them in and out of the showers. Towel them, rub oil on them etc. None of y'all could last a day in my shoes. You don't see me crying.

I was damn proud of that thread too Hell, it wasn't even a pro Bryce thread (which it wouldn't be given that I'm not pro-Bryce). Just a minor treatise on why I don't go by stats. Got a few trollish responses from some of the usual suspects but it wasn't anywhere near as contentious as the average thread gets anymore. I'm mystified

Jamarcus Russell got 3 years, Ryan Leaf 3 years, Jake Locker 3 years, Gabbert 3 years, etc., etc. I could go on. Those players didn’t improve so they were cut. If you think Bryce is the same qb as his rookie season then I don’t know what to say tbh. You’re clearly wrong

I didn't think the Rams game was a stellar performance. Like I said it was a good performance, but not one I would put in front of 31 other starting QBs and tell them that's the pinnacle of NFL QB performance. He was responsible for 2 TDs in truth, but he gets credit for 3. The screen to Chuba was all Chuba after the catch. He looked stellar in Atl, he looked good against the Rams. Different swagger, different feel, different command of the offense. Good performance, not a stellar one, IMO. -
I'll rehash / summarize the breakdown I gave earlier. McMillan vs Olave: probably a push (could become an advantage as soon as next season, but not just yet) Legette vs Pretty Much Anybody: Yeah, that's a loss, arguably a big one. Jalen Coker vs Dante Pettis: Probably a push if I'm being objective. I'd take Coker but I can't say people outside the Panthers fanbase would. Our TE by Committee vs Juwan Johnson: Another loss Hubbard or Dowdle individually vs Kamara: Again, probably a push if I'm objective. Kamara might not be as durable as he used to but our guys are younger and neither of them made it through a full season healthy this year either. Hubbard / Dowdle as a combo vs Kamara and his backup: This could be an advantage (would be our first if it were) but only if Dowdle were at full strength and I don't think he is yet. Whoever's Playing Center This Week vs Fortner: Yeah, loss. Puts us down by three at this point. Our Left Side (Lewis, Ickey) vs Their Left Side (Radunz, Banks): This is the first comparison where I feel confused giving us the advantage, but it's not a blowout win, and not enough to put us ahead, especially when you move to... Our Right Side (Moton, Corbett?) vs Their Right Side (Ruiz, Fuaga): At full strength, we win. Sadly we're not at full strength and haven't been all year. So again, loss.i FINAL SCORE: - 1 win - 4 losses - 3 even We lose by three. If you disagree on these, show me where and why.
-
yep. Sounds like he’s made the final conversion to a real panthers fan.
-
That’s the unique Bryce only scale of improvement . He isn’t getting #1 pick leeway. He is getting we gave up the farm for him leeway (which there are very few comps of). there is no major progression. Team around him has gotten better. Bryce has been a very consistent player in all honesty.
-
Well, yeah, if you’re the #1 overall pick you get some leeway, especially when you’ve shown major progression from year 1.
-
Because guys slightly worse than Bryce or slightly better…..don’t get to be starter vs 3 straight seasons. They all come and go. Thats how he is the worst starting QB since he was drafted. Players worse or close to him….go away and he remains. so is he better than JJ? Sure. But JJ will go away. Just like a Spencer Rattler. So they don’t get to compete for the worst over a window of time….where they only exist for a season. so you could say Cam Ward is the worst QB in 2025 Bryce remains the worst from 2023 to date. Anyone as bad is gone. and Ward’s draft status likely won’t give him Bryce’s time. Bryce get extra for being way more than a #1 overall blunder. He was multiple.
