I don't love it either, but it is what it is. There were no free agents that were the answer. We damn sure weren't spending a 2nd round pick on Carson Beck and Simpson went WAY too early. So BY gets a 1 year, $26M extension. If he somehow magically gets really good it'll seem like a bargain. If not...well, that's the cost of doing business.

Overall I liked what Morgan had to say in both interviews. He clearly is very invested and connected/passionate about his job with this franchise. I just really hope he does not end up hinging all that on hitching himself to an albatross QB contract for a #1 pick who does not display high end or elite production.

It is pretty confounding that we are seeing this apparent double standard. One for everyone else, a different set of standards for Bryce. From size to performance they hold him to lower standards than they hold the other guys to. I say apparent because we don’t know for sure and coaches and by extension GMs do the coach speak shuffle . because know the players are listening.
