  1. Past hour
  2. Yeah, he looks to me like a guy who was able to excel in HS simply because he usually had 4-5" on the guy trying to guard him. Kinda like watching Adam Morrison at Gonzaga. Like yeah, dude is hooping but he can simply shoot over top of these college guys trying to guard him who are still on him like white on rice. He wasn't shaking defenders he was simply playing over top of them with size. How is that gonna translate to the NBA when the guys guarding him will be his size and way better athletes? Well, we found out.
  3. He really lacks athleticism and is overrated big time. Another Ian Jackson situation where the player doesn’t match the hype. No big loss.
  4. I'm not crying over losing Mingo. After he committed I watched his highlights and just didn't get it. He looked like a top 50-75 type recruit to me, not a top 10 type guy. Yeah, he was making plays but HS defenders were still all over him right in his hip pocket. Usually top 10 recruits look like gods on a HS court. They look like a different species compared to everyone else. Mingo just looked like the best player on a HS court, nothing out of this world. It's the equivalent of watching a college WR and evaluating him as an NFL prospect. Like yeah, he's making plays, but he can't separate at the college level. Now project that to the NFL level where he's definitely not gonna be creating separation and is gonna have a bigger, stronger, smarter player draping him like a blanket. Is he still gonna be making plays then? TBD.
  5. Don't agree with that. But Mingo probably would have pulled out anyways
  6. Dillion T as well (although its probably a long shot he is there)
  7. I mostly agree with the assessment of impact players this year, but I do think Kayden McDonald would be the exception for DT. He would plug the run Day 1. Pass rush would need time though.
  8. Avdalas is expected to play the point for Malone, so UNC has parted ways with Dylan Mingo and aren't persuing his brother.
  9. Sitting tonite: Svech, Staal, Slavin, Jarvis, Aho, Ghost.
  10. Today
  11. Dan and Dave have both said they want to draft an impact player in the first round. The most impactful rookie positions are WR and RB. On defense it's Edge and CB. Can't see a RB at 19. So Edge rusher, CB or WR are the likely options. Oline and DT absolutely are needs. But they wouldn't be impactful this season.
  12. strange and weird statistic of the week. BPI at 5.3% has the Hornets with the forth best odds in the Eastern conferences to make the finals.
  13. I think barring some games where he is so hideously bad that the fanbase turns on him and the team has to pull the plug it's a done deal. For better or worse they are all in due to what they gave up. And yes Dan Morgan is absolutely a believer no matter the cope you might read here otherwise.
  14. Im more convinced than ever that Bryce is getting a new deal by week 8 when we are hovering around .500
  15. I expect a playoff quality game tonight vs Flyers. Previous 3 games Canes won, 2 in shootouts and 1 in OT. Both teams playing for something. So many Canes regulars still out, but subs playing well.
  16. It's almost like their intentionally only focusing on the worst QB's.
  17. There are 97 NBA players that have more points in the paint than our superstar. That isn't a ref problem.
  18. I don't really get the Cam parallels. Cam was a monster and even with the refs not giving him his due he still ate. Where it finally had an impact was when they let defenses headhunt him. There are probably some refs that don't like LaMelo for reasons people can determine on their own. But I think most of the noncalls are due to us being a small market team and the league and the refs just giving zero fưcks if we continue to exist. At the end of the day it's up to LaMelo to rise above it all. Nobody is out there trying to take his head off. He needs to add some bulk in the offseason assert himself and get physical in the paint and take any fouls that might come along the way and gradually you will see the tide turn. But nothing is going to change for the better for him or the team if he just continues to limit himself to acrobatic threes from halfcourt. That's just the reality of the situation.
  19. Terrence Brown Jr. Scored 19.9 and 3.8 apg for Utah. He had a visit today, Juke Harris had one yesterday. Word is Knox is following Martin to UNC. Avdalas committed today Jarin committed to returning Young committed to returning Adams committed to enrolling Last I heard Mingo is still committed So right now the roster is as far as I know. Mingo, Adams, Avdalas, Young, Knox, Matlekovic, and Stevenson. Veesar and Juke both have significant offers from UNC.
  20. A steady supply of Buproprion HCL and monthly therapy had done the trick. We arent too far past moving D-tackles to offensive line. Never again. Never again.
  21. Damn…hope ur right. Which Brown Jr?
  22. Actually, the best Buffalo can do is tie and we have more regulation wins. Home ice until the finals. And Colorado won the Presidents trophy....
  23. Kind of surprised we have looked at so few OTs so far. Leading me to believe that we aren't looking at OT round 1 (or they assume that all of the good ones will be gone by 19). Glad they went to look at McCoy. I think he is the best corner in this draft and would probably have been a top 10 lock if he didn't tear his ACL a year ago. I think he had a good pro day, so he might be back in that top 10 range
