  1. Past hour
  2. I wanted Lemon, actually, but the locker room is very important. Nothing disrupts the chemistry more than a loud, crazy, disgruntled WR. He will become that. They said he sucked during interviews.
  3. My thoughts exactly! Before his injury Icky was not a perineal pro-bowler anyway. He was mid-tier, slightly above average. We were getting ready to overpay or let him walk. As to the rest of our line...Moton cost's $28.4 million next year, we can save $14.5M with $13.9M dead money ($7M in 27 and $7M in 28 if we call it post 6/1, with $21.5M off our 27 cap). I have a feeling we let him play out 27 though if he's able. I've been hearing about his bum knee for 3 years and he hasn't slowed down yet. Releasing Hunt saves us $13.7M with $10.6M dead ($5.3 in 27 and 28 if post 6/1 with $19M savings in 27.).He's a beast, let him play it out IMO. Cutting Lewis next year saves $13M with only $3.75 dead money. No way we can afford not to do that. Look for his replacement to be drafted on Saturday. I think Fortner works out and earns himself an extension.
  4. Everyone on the board at 19 had some reason to question their future success. If you focus on the deficiencies of your pick vs. the strengths of everyone else, you will always see it as a half empty glass. My view? Tackle was a red flag here--Ickey out and may never be the same and the same was not worth the money he would demand. Moton is old and playing on a peg leg, and Stone Forsythe could not be successful as a homeless man's body guard. This pick has risks just like those before us and after us. I think he has the potential to be the best LT in this draft--and that is more valuable than a S or TE. As much as I did not think they would do it--and I do not see the top of the draft as one that had typical "can't miss" OT prospects. We will be OK. Freeling is a coachable, eager, smart, athletic player. We could have done much worse. I had him going off the board around pick 12, so I did not give him much focus. I love building through the OL, and we were scary at OT--better on paper than in reality, in fact. I get it. Morgan is solid, in my view.
  5. I think Freeling will see significant playing time this season. It's an inevitability.
  6. I don't care about what other people think of me. That's a waste of time. Nice attempt of insulting me. Ice up, son. Ice up.
  7. Dude is 6’7” 313 #s and runs a 4.9 with a 33” vert… I think he might be an athletic freak. Played in the big boy league for national contender. Great pick.
  8. Quote me saying he will bust. Go ahead. I actually am OK with the pick. Im just asking a legit question. And you wonder why no one likes talking to you.
  9. Freeling will be the Day 1 Starter. https://x.com/joshkleinrules/status/2047648277437300747?s=46&t=xeIgh_-Vr2aKxBkBJdfnKA
  10. The only tackle to score higher on the RAS scale than Monroe Freeling is Trent Williams. This type of build and athlete don't grow on trees. The physical skill set is elite, so it allows him to be a little sloppy with his technique as of now, but the guy is only 21 years old the sky is limit with this kid.
  11. I said if he was their BPA, then he was the right pick. But I don't agree that he was BPA or would have the greatest impact this season. Not agreeing is not the same as not believing. He wasn't BPA. He won't have the greatest impact this season. Still could have been the right pick.
  12. He is a good fit for LT here in the wide zone and with a mobile qb. Freeling has some work to do with his balance and technique, but our OL coach--the guru who works with tackles specifically at practice--had a loud voice in the draft room, one can assume. Ickey was average at T and frankly, not a great fit for our system at T. As a guard, (I Pray they move him there if they keep him) he could be special. I think of this as a long-term play that makes the OL cap manageable by 2027. I think the move might have upgraded 2 positions. He seems positive and he seems coachable. I am not too worried--he reminds me of Gross a bit. Gross was not a LT day 1, but he was a great pick.
  13. It wasn't my favorite strategy, but I'd have been fine with Makai Lemon or Omar Cooper Jr. I'm just not a KCC fan at all.

  15. No official visit but they were at his pro Day. Definitely another good data point for future references.
  16. Considering he was the best LT in all of college football last season, you're the one assuming he'll be a bust.
  17. Oh he absolutely is. He'll get murdered with his current technique in the NFL.
  18. Are we really crying about not drafting a SAFETY over a LT?? I would take an above average LT over a All-pro safety every day of the week lol. A safeties impact on the game just doesn't move the needle. Great pick build the trenches, would love a center in day 2. Oh PS Cooper >Lemon
  19. I wonder if they'd consider trading Rasheed Walker to a team that needs tackle help but missed out in the draft?
  20. Then why did he last till 19? LOL. This is such a Panthers fan take. Anyone who falls to us must suck because some other team didn't take them before. We got lucky with Lemon, Thieneman, and Freeling all falling to us (honestly any of the three is a A+) but the WR and S positions are much deeper than the LT position in this draft. We got the LT w/ the most upside at 19. Mauigoa played RT in college and some think he is a guard in the nfl. Spano played RT in college and some think he is a guard in the NFL due to short arms. Blake Miller played RT in college and is not as good as Freeling. Proctor is a true LT but his ability to handle quick edge's worries me (see Icky). Freeling is a true LT and a gifted pass protector. Many think he has a very high ceiling and will benefit from not having to start right away. This is how you build a franchise.
