  1. Past hour
  2. Either way we shouldn’t extend him, but yeah 100% if he doesn’t even want to be here.
  3. Yea if they are truly planning on moving on from Young then I would say Howell and a draft pick.
  4. So a friend of mine knows Rico's family and they told him that he doesn't want to play for the panthers. That could defiantly effect the decision making process for our front office.
  5. I can understand thinking Chuba could run through some of those same holes, and doing the split. The second week was the real offense.
  6. It isn’t going to be consistent with your QB that you sold all the way out for vs a mere underperforming WR. We have understood the deal with that QB room for two years. During and after 2023 many, you included, me included, were begging for someone to compete for the QB job and complaining that it was just handed to Bryce from day one without him having to win it.
  7. Gotcha. I'm not sure he would have tho. Still, either one should be mostly handing the ball off to a RB. Andy was bad but after watching Plumber I know it can still get worse.
  8. And he won't get close to 1200 yards this season. Rico amassed half of that with just two full games starting. We've seen the best of Chuba he's a good back average starter paired with a weak passng attack, Superbowl here we come!
  9. I could see it. I think both Dowdle and Chuba are both better as bellcow backs. We spent draft capital to acquire RB depth in Brooks and Etienne, Chuba is on a long term deal and just last season put up 1,200 yards. Dowdle has been great, I want him to get the carries this week, but end of the day he’s a UFA after the season and I doubt the FO spends more $ at the position to resign him. Might as well feature him Sunday and see if the Chargers or Chiefs are willing to part with a 4th to fortify their run game.
  10. Sounds college. But I guess it is just a title because there is always a defacto leadership group in the locker room And the coaches lean on them.
  11. Fact of the matter is he will demand $ and contact after the year. We already paid Hubbard. I don’t like it either but it’s the best option.
  12. Hubbard had almost 1200 rush yards and 10 td in 15 games with a 4.8 avg last year. We have Etienne, we have brooks eventually coming back. Another rb on a massive contract is moot
  13. He is what he is at this point but he is a guy you could start for a game and compete with a strong run game. If this were a serious franchise we would be merit based instead of this pitiful investment based culture we have under the Tepper's Morgan and Canales. At the same time that isn't even consistent because we had Xavier Legette fully in the doghouse for a few games. We have standards for some then we don't have standards and coddle others. It's a disgrace.
  14. When you have Dalton playing like he did in an important game, you really have nothing. We could get that from anyone. Maybe we could get worse, but at his level of play what difference does it make? You ain’t winning with him you ain’t even competing with him.
  15. Rico will be 28 next year. This is his last shot at a big contract. He's going to want to get paid as a top 5 rusher if he is one this year. Malpractice is also needing a top 5 rusher for your franchise qb to be average
  16. With Byrce and his 180 yards passing a game average and Chuba's 50 yards a game we not winning next season either so that point is moot.
  17. Many things about this can be true. Is dowdle our best rb this year? Yes Are we winning the superbowl this year? No Are we signing another rb to another contract? No Is dowdles value at its highest? Yes Should we base bryces performance on the exploits of a back up rb? No No one is taking Hubbard and his contract. Remember we traded a 5th for a legit young qb in baker. Getting a 5th or 4th for a couple games of our back up rb ( who is performing better than the starter) is a coup. You gotta know when to hold em and when to fold em. We ain't winning the championship this year. Time to pick up more assets for next year
  18. Malpractice would be the Panthers going into next season with an inconsistent passing game and Chuba as the lead back we've seen what that offense looks like the past few seasons. If Byrce is going to succeed we're going to need to be a able run the ball. Again my point if Rico balls out as in a top 5 rusher the remaining of the season Panthers would be crazy not to try and sign him. He's a local product who grew up in Asheville not too far from Charlotte I'm sure his preference would be playing for the home team.
  19. He signed to the PS 10 days ago so he's a little bit into the playbook. He probably would have looked better than Dalton this past Sunday just playing backyard football lol.
  20. Sounds dumb but I would put "Super Bowl win as starter" as one of the bullets in the 1st round. And if my guy checks that, I'm good. It's dumb but its how I feel.
  21. We are. It’s a fair point. We aren’t replaying g those game every week we have new challenges ahead. Those were Bad defense he torched and the OL played a big part in his success too. I think he was great as far as it goes. Against a good d that wants to stop the run, is he enough to overcome that or will he yield less production? I guess that is the question. If he isn’t the difference between his production and Chuba’s might not be so great. also, the locker room should be considered. What would the effect of trading him be? Probably not great. I only said ‘consider’ not ‘would definitely’. I am trying to consider the angles.
