  1. Past hour
  2. rookie Cam was just such an anomaly....it would have been a problem for all these bad teams we got early. Cam actually had a tougher opening schedule in hindsight and was still a problem for those folks. Only 3 of the opening 8 finished w/ losing records
  3. I wrote a large thread about this when Canales was hired that was immediately locked.
  4. I don't honestly know if the record would be any different but I do know that we'd be competing. We wouldn't be going out there and just getting dog walked.
  5. Rookie Cam would have faired well with this opening schedule of 2025. Probably 3-4 wins through the first 7 games. Cam auto increases the odds for more explosive pass plays (we are the worst in the NFL). The arm and play extension is in a different universe. And Cam paired w/ a solid RB is just a problem for a defense. So Cam auto improves a bad D because Cam is going to have them playing fewer downs vs Bryce.
  6. I will say at least Rhule got us to 3-0 against teams we were supposed to beat
  7. recent history says, college has no problem with David Tepper nightmares to come work in the semi pro league of college football. Rhule and Frank HCs.
  8. Right now we have a top 10 pick LT who is showing improvement as a pass protector, two top tier guards, an aging but still top shelf RT, a top 10 pick at WR, a proven veteran RB. I mean, the cupboard is far from bare. Drop rookie Cam on this roster and it's probably similar results. 6ish wins and overall competitive but the D usually finds a way to give up more points than we can score.
  9. Canales looks like absolute poo. Good gracious.
  10. If we have the top pick the first plan should be to trade down if someone can offer a dumb package like we did.
  11. I’m telling yall. If we had an actual QB you would be surprised at how good XL would look. Bryce limits their touches in so many ways, especially in the fact that he can’t get it to them where they need it and also because defense can take away more opportunities because of how aggressive they play us because there is no threat of a downfield pass.
  12. I'd day the 2011 team was a dang good setup to drop a QB into. And by week 1 it certainly was. Pro Bowl LT, our most underrated OG of all time, Pro Bowl C. Pro Bowl WR. Pro Bowl RB. Added a savy old Pro Bowl TE and your promising Greg Olsen. That's a great setup. Carolina was nowhere near as bad going into our 2011 season as our draft placement suggested IMO. It just speaks to the power of a really bad QB (Jimmy Clausen)....that nukes everything and everyone from functioning. Because records were being rewritten starting week 1 of 2011
  13. I was never a fan for many reasons. Too little experience so he wasn't ready, his offense didn't match what young could do, a cheerleader/motivational speaker is a huge negative with the Teppers, was Morgan's friend, didn't even get an interview elsewhere for obvious reasons and 1 year thst was overhyped because Baker was put into a functional offense with a deflated ego. We were never getting a decent hire between being tied to Young and working for the Teppers. That's just too much to overcome after a one and done pooshow that was 2023.
  14. Coaches like Canales have to be paired w/ a gunslinger or elite QB. It's a story as old as time. Weak boring offenses need the aggressive chunk pass plays to compliment their O. You saw that in Tampa. You see that in his entire coaching tree. this is the frustrating part about the Panthers. All this stuff is day 1 stuff and he waste years figuring out the knowns.
  15. functional is a good word to use I said at the time he was a "fine" hire based on all things considered but brother there were a ton of red flags if this puppy goes south and alas here we are
  16. I said not a good one but he was a functional OC. He isn't an OC here, he is a bad HC calling plays and way over his head. He wasn't great in TB but he wasn't poo either.
  17. You add the QB when you can. The 2011 team wasn't ready to drop in a QB either. Virtually no team drafting high is. I mean, we've spent a ton of resources on OL, receivers, a RB. Overall for a highly drafted QB there's been a lot worse situations to walk into.
  18. based on what? His offense both here and in TB is complete poo
  19. Canales is an NFL level coach, not a good one but he is one. I don't think Rhule ever hit that level. Rhule being busy trying to do non-NFL stuff off the field probably kept him busy enough to do less damage on the field. Him wanting Fritz also make it an obvious choice for which is worse.
  20. so whats the solution? Its either a poo vet free agent qb, draft a dude and let him sit or bryce for at least 2 more years. The rookie contract situation is fuging awesome when you hit on it, but it completely goes against your team when you have a guy like bryce. I swear to Christ if we roll out someone like Russ next year hoping to compete I will fuging delete my account and completely stop driving 10ish hours to go to games. fug that poo there needs to be a plan. I keep seeing Wilsons name pop up in association with Canales and man if anyone has watched him the last 2 years the dude is completely fuging cooked. Thats what happens when a smaller qb loses his speed and has to stay in the pocket, it doesnt work
  21. I Wouldn't trust any of these QB's in the upcoming draft as a high pick. Not to built a offense around anyways. Maybe in the mid- rounds, certainly not in the first or second. This team is so far behind the eight ball right now, they need help everywhere.
  22. whats your solution for qb in 2026? Seriously asking because the free agent list is LOL funny.
  23. Today
  24. Well, it should NOT be a QB. Just like in 2023, this team ain't ready for a rookie QB. Oline, LBs, Safeties, pass rushers, TEs, and yes - WRs. Build the team, and then draft a QB.
  25. Right, I don't think Morgan is any better than fitterer or Rhule but his statement was Canales is worse than Rhule and that is completely false. Rhule walked in to a better albeit not great situation and promptly torpedo the fug out of it with incompetence
