If you have been in college as long as Nussmeier and you are a one read QB, you are not an NFL QB. That's a 6th/7th rounder even with the size/arm.

Bryce Young a full participant at practice today

That’s fair, he probably has Pete, maybe. Who is busy right now. -
We had that, sort of. Jake Delhomme. We had a shot at a real franchise QB that wasn't even a reclaimation project. We ended up making him play DE on the scout team.
-
We used 2 of our top 3 picks on pass rush and probably use another top 2 this year

So how would you tier that? -
Why didn't feast last year? Was it maybe due to the lack of another elite pass rusher being across from him? Is he just a guy that needs only elite players on the DL to produce at an elite level? Is he elite then? I will say other elite pass rushers don't seem to have the issue with producing like he does.

Athletic today reported this line embarrassing Carolina (+13) at Green Bay, because it’s a huge line and the Packers like to play with their food

I mean, Brown isn't really a sacker, and he's flourishing now, So Burns was really playing by himself as far as rushing the passer goes. Burns was never going to be Paraons or Hutchinson, but h is one that must be accounted for however, band his contract is looking more like a deal even if he playing among suspected talent. It's still relatively early for Thibodeuax and especially Carter, but just like with our guys, I'd like to see more.

Much ado about nothing. Tempers flare in a physical game like football, especially when you take an absolute flogging. -
Yeah, I don't want to force anything. Forget going into the draft with the plan to definitely draft a QB in the first. You don't do yourself any favors reaching on need. If the right fit isn't there I'm perfectly fine with adding a developmental guy after the first. We need multiple QBs. We need a starter and we need a backup. There's just not gonna be any energy in this fanbase as long as we keep trotting Bryce out there pretending that he's a starting QB. There will start to be hope again as soon as it's clear that we're turning the page on the whole Bryce thing.

Mr Rogers without the sweater He does things even a high school coach wouldn't do frankly, he is a bad version of Pete carroll
-
Yep What Canales says is not something he would say the way he would say it those are Tepper’s words during the post game Monday HC to owner meeting no way does Canales word things thevwsy that statement was worded you ride your best horse in a race you have to win. You don’t ride the stable pony it is really not hard
-
Rumor is Canales is giving him less and less carries each game because every time Rico runs the ball, he is making DC look more and more like an idiot... I feel like DC is the equivalent of a Falcons fan playing Madden and subbing out all of the Panther's starters for training camp fodder to make us go 0-16

Well, if you are going to get your ass kicked on the field, maybe you can kick their ass off the field?? Maybe you could have shown this emotion/passion during the game instead... -
Burns had over 10 sacks in 1 season here and that was with Brown. That's a fact. He isn't a game changer, he is a guy who feast when he is a role player surounded by enough tslent that teams can't easily focus on him. It wasn't just turning down that trade that pooped in the punch bowl. It was saying how special he was the entire time because they had so little talent on the roster to promote while also negotiating like he wasn't special enough to turn down that trade.

This right here. Might as well pick it up, even if Bryce isn't the long term QB. We aren't paying Daniel Jones the crazy contract he will earn after this year and the rest of the QBs just aren't very good. Sadly, this draft class of QBs has looked really bad in college this year and I am struggling to find one worth drafting high. Maybe Nussmeier because he has all the arm strength/accuracy qualities you want in an NFL QB (worried about how awful he is at staring down his 1st read and not being able to read coverages, but that can theoretically be fixed). Haven't looked into the 2027 QB draft class, but maybe signing Mariota to be backup for a year (or 2) behind Bryce wouldn't be the worst. I have watched a bit of Mariota this year and don't think he looked that bad against the Cowboys & Chiefs.

He sure could pump fake the h- outta the ball with an injured thumb. Impressive...

I fine with Burns leaving, I am not fine with Evero staying.

The Giants arent much better according to this chart. They are actually doing worse overall than we have since the trade.

This whole 3-4 vs 4-3 debate is pretty tiresome and useless. Most teams are running nickel (or some nickel variant) over half of their defensive snaps because of the amount of offenses that are running spread offenses with 3 wide receivers (and a lot of teams are incorporating more RPO plays). Now, the real question is when offenses start shifting back to a more power run type of style, do teams start changing course and running less nickel...
-
Move back to 4-3 full time, start putting more mass and muscle into our DEs and push for more blitzing, too. I'm sick of a passive defense approach... "Do what you want to the girl, just leave me alone" isn't how you win in the NFL.

Post season appearances. -
I'd rather not have Burns and draft good edge rushers. He wasn't worth the contract he got for a dude that could only rush the passer and frankly did a terrible job of it for us because whenever he did beat his blocker, he would whiff on the QB. Congrats to him for actually being able to wrap up the QB this year - it's the first time he has consistently been able to do it. The amount of teams that ran right at him while he was with us shows that teams realized he was an undersized edge and could get pushed backwards several yards on run plays. Having Dexter Lawrence next to you helps mask that problem
-
I mean, some of y'all keep on saying that, but the fact is is that he is the only Giant feasting. Burns is just better than many of us thought, myself included. Sometimes it just takes guys time to get to the top of their game, that's why I'm going to give our rookies a lot of grace. It might be a couple of years before they hit their stride (though it didn't take Burns that long). But I have been disappointed. Moreover, I suspect that they all might benefit by migrating to a 4-3 base. But Burns is what he is. It was ultimately bad timing IMO. After Scott Fitterer failed to take the two firsts, things were destined to go downhill. I think we should've kept Clowney for another year or so more than Burns, but it's all been fûcked up anyway, so nobody was probably going to make that much of a difference.

I say bring Lance in. We have an OL, decent weapons and, by god, a QB whisperer as a HC. (obviously joking about that last part) Plus, we're statistically due to have a reclamation project work.
