And Robertson from Baylor is basically another Pickett.

BREAKING: Panthers sign QB Kenny Pickett
ForJimmy replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm not a fan of Pickett but why are we saying he has a "noodle arm?" He has small hands no doubt but he arm was always average to me. His velocity is clocked in the mid 50s. Nothing elite but not a weakness either. Nothing to really be excited about but he is a younger upgrade at the backup position. I'd still like to draft one to develop though. -
Not unexpected: Panthers raise season ticket prices

And also curious how much the "cheap" seats will increase percentage wise. I feel like when they had the 6% increase last year, it was only like 1% or something for the upper level -

If howell and pickett are in the same tier why not go with the cheaper, more athletic guy who has the better arm? -
Again its the tepper effect, you could legitmately argue Picket is the worst and and least physically gifted FA qb in this cycle and we signed him

one wonders how much money Dave is really saving with turf fields when he has to spend nearly $200 million dollars on the first day of free agency to, in part, free himself up to target a position he already had locked down on the roster until his turf monster destroyed the guy’s knee -

Packers increasing from $4 to $22 per game Saints staying the same Patriots are increasing "a little more than 7%" Bears increase 13.5% Lions staying the same-ish Dolphins staying the same -
Based on the continued approach to the most consequential position on the football field thanks to his push for us to trade up to the first pick one should logically conclude that his presence is still felt within the day to day operations. The guy isn't a monster but he also isn't in need of anyone lining up to shine his shoes or kiss his ass but lo and behold there is always someone that wants to paint him out to be a victim. I assure you the billionaire is doing just fine regardless of what anyone says about him on the internet. Carry on.

BREAKING: Panthers sign QB Kenny Pickett

ehhh plenty of people are fluffing Howell, including you. The idea Howell would come in and outshine anyone is hilarious, he hasn't done that in any of his stops the last couple years, why would he here? I don't think Pickett is starting material either, but Howell is not, either. I wouldn't have really cared if we'd gotten Howell because to me it is basically the same tier of player as Pickett. The goal with our new backup was clearly to get younger, someone that had the same mobility as Bryce. Hopefully we actually pick up someone with potential in the draft. -

I'm concerned that the primary one we've been tied to is another noodle arm. It really feels like we're trying to avoid bringing in someone who can make throws that Bryce can't and that is just absolutely bizarre.

Panthers re-sign OLB Thomas Incoom

Him and Evans are good special teamers. I like these 2 resignings -

Not sure if it's related to the playoff game or just the rampant inflation that is occurring in our country. Curious how much the prices for other teams changed. -

Grab him in the first, get that extra year of contract possibility out of him and set things in stone. Mills, Morgan, Beason, Kuechly. Continue the tradition. -

surely Tepper is going to follow suit on the other F- field conditions teams and improve the playing surface with real grass right? he’s not going to spend all this money on free agents and risk a non contact injury on his green Taylor swift plastic surely? -

Unsure how "most affordable" is written to refer to the $500 seats. -
There’s a lot of later round QBs that had disappointing 2025 seasons (this draft and maybe next). I really hope we are looking at those guys. Could be cheap backups and if you grab the right one, maybe a future starter. I’m worried, like you, that we’ll extend Young. I’m sorry, but outside of the Rams games, he’s still not the guy and the Rams went all out in FA to find multiple CBs as that was their weak link.

Prices increase 12% for the coming season (fresh off a... [checks notes] "playoff run") Per the Observer, Panthers increased their season-ticket prices by 6% in 2025 and by 4% in 2024. https://bsky.app/profile/charlotteobserver.com/post/3mgpobbfz4n2v

https://overthecap.com/free-agency I also wonder about Cushenberry (C). He had an achilles in 2024 and injuries in 2025. He is 28, smart, and has a lot of starting experience. On a cheap, "Prove it" contract... This is not to suggest that the Panthers do not draft a C.
-
Yes. Versatile and has played LT (late in 2025) pretty well. He would be a nice player who is young and could covert to G if needed, or play T.
-
Sure. Sign or draft a backup QB in the mid to late rounds with actual NFL caliber physical tools that might be able to push Bryce. We've signed another QB who doesn't have an NFL arm and the mid to late round rookie we've been tied to is another guy whose main concern is NFL arm strength.
-
I will also say if we grabbed FS Thienemen in the 1st I wouldn't be pissed at that either, if Saadiq and Freeling are gone by 19

Nobody is fluffing howell. Simply saying Pickett has literally the worst skill set of all FA qbs. Picking him just shows they dont want anyone in camp to outshine baby bryce. Its as simple as that
