ESPN's Trade Deadline Primer: Panthers
strato replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Only way it make sense if if it is a long term thing. maybe a player for player. I normally wouldn’t worry a team in our position renting in this situation but Tepper is in the mix. -
I guess this is a good of time as any. Out of alllllll the HC pressers I loathe Daves the most..... I can not pin point why, but I can not stand his talking..... Winning doesn't help this either, just a bad vibe I guess....

Dalton is old with a messed up hand. Same injury let Bryce sneak back in after they moved on from him last year. Unlike other injured players, Dalton wasn’t on the sideline all day using the injured hand

Yeah, as a Heels fan I love it for Drake but dammit... LOL

All it took for me was Young. I don’t see that he has earned a future yet, and I thought these remaining games were his pass fail test. If their minds are made up already, I am not sure I can find the will to remain interested. -

I swear using any picks other than 6th or 7th, better not happen with this 2025 team..... These mid-season trades have a fail rate of like 90%, its too much for a player to adapt. -
Eyeball test never aligns with that they say about an “injured” Bryce. Find a limp or a day where he was off his feet either year. for whatever reason they shelved him for a week. Plenty of QBs this season alone have played on grade 1 sprains and looked worse than Bryce. They are good though

Hubbard for Thibodeux and pick swaps. -
So now yet again we’re playing the guy we got for nothing and sitting the guy with the contract. Hope they finally figure out to not pay a RB. Just keep collecting them unless you find yourselves a Gibbs or Jacobs. Otherwise, don’t waste dough on the position.

Saw something the other day about Mafe from the Seahawks may be available. -
Bryce Young a full participant at practice today
Basbear replied to Car123's topic in Carolina Panthers
Why did they go into the game and shaq was still able to call out plays?? Just horse poo coaching there, for the love of gods Dave, its not difficult for grown pros to flip plays and use different code words..... -
BS. If he was sooooooo injured how did he finish the game? It was over at the half, didn't make a difference for him to keep playing. Ill say this, the players that didn't finish the game was shocking. Dbrown had a "knee", Wallace hurt his shoulder and the report was its a head deal...........Mays was riding a bike after the half and no other OLmen was leftd after Motown had a "we are behind 30 points" injury too....... At least horn was replaced by Thor and he didn't have a "mystery" injury while down 30.........odd behavior.

The fact that Hendon Hooker is on our roster tells you the sad state of affairs of our QB room. Dude isn't good enough to make a CFL roster, yet somehow he was our backup QB last Sunday...
-
Sounds like we need to amputate a leg from Dalton and a thumb from Bryce and do a quick transplant to fix them both....

Not Necessarily Panthers Related but....

Teams reach for QBs, in the past they did, but now more than ever. Many guys drafted in the 1st, would be 2nd round, even 3rd round guys. Just if you want one, you got to either suck, reach, or trade up for the chosen ones. I get QB is the most important thing, just I just don't believe its the only way. Panthers are a prime example, they have sacrificed many players in order to draft a maybe QB. Just build the team and I swear free agent QBs will call YOU.....Even rookies would be like " I want to play for Carolina, that defense and running game is too good". You can still find QBs in other ways besides the 1st round. Many times if you want a 2nd overall QB, just wait 4 years and he will be happy to sign for a low level QB contract. During those four years, build the roster with the best draft picks in each round. Stop making excuses about failures in the mid rounds, hire the right staff is the key. -
Bryce Young a full participant at practice today
PleaseCutStewart replied to Car123's topic in Carolina Panthers
Gotta be honest - if Bryce was truly a "full participant" today and moving around a lot at practice , the dude must have other worldly healing. High ankle sprains can be a bitch and even the lowest grade kind of them aren't fun to move around on -

Yeah, they are building another pile of trash on top of their previous piles of trash from Fat Fhule, Fitterer, etc. -

The Pats were probably asking "Hey, we will give you a 7th rounder for Chuba if you pay his entire salary" -

Lol, nobody is trading for Chuba... Who would want that RB contract -
Seems to be his game day and lineup issues most people are unhappy with.
-
they bought an OL for the prized undersized with the savings Couldnt even put it back into the defense. But he probably wouldn’t be leading the league in sacks if we had kept him.

"missed opportunity" at hiring a real NFL HC.. Hes one of the few young coaching members that has modern NFL figured out. I even think he could be GM, but think he does want too. I know he was beyond pissed when the Titans GM traded AJ brown for draft pick(2nd???). He's knows ball and can relate. He's knows what a good NFL looks like and how they act/practice. Dave is still figuring out many things and Evero handles 100% of the D side.....Vrabel does all three....

Is Canales digging his own grave?
HaricotVert replied to DaveThePanther2008's topic in Carolina Panthers
Dave Canales just feels like a guy marking time. He’s not a “bust your ass and chase perfection” Landry type, and he’s not a “you’re a good man, now let’s find your best self” Rivera type either. He doesn’t inspire greatness, but he doesn’t tolerate outright laziness either. He’s basically football’s version of middle management, competent, steady, and fine at keeping things from collapsing, but not the kind of leader who changes a culture or puts a team on his back. You get the sense ownership hired him to keep the lights on while they figure out what’s next. In short, he’s not the problem… but he’s never going to be the solution either. -
Happy birthday. Retire.

I can't believe I am saying this... I think (within the context of this past Sunday's game) we are a better team with Bryce Young on the field. If he had started I genuinely think that would have been a close game. His escapability was desperately missed. Dalton was utterly atrocious.
