They are not going to roll over for a franchise to have better draft position. Nor would any player, free agent or drafted, want to come to a franchise that pulls them out of the lineup nfl players have a short tenure. They want that individual money…if the team is 0 and 17 or 17 and 0, they still have those individual monetary incentives

That post really hurt my feelings.

Fewer games, less need to have a late start, more time for people to finish dinner and catch the game (though I am going to miss the first period every time because my kids go down at 8 so bedtime routine is either flexing to 730 or I just miss puck drops lol)

I agree but he signed a second contract here and an extension with Chicago. So while he didn't choose to be drafted by us, this is now the life he chose.

Stankoven and Marchand will be a good matchup to watch. Stankoven reminds me a lot of the rat.

That's the ebbs and flows of hockey man as long as it isn't a meltdown on the score board just power through.... This will be a very gritty low scoring and physical affair.

This will be a low scoring affair on both sides IMO. Let's not forget last time we were a much smaller team and Martinook was our leading goal scorer lol. Two goals probably wins most of these games. Canes are much more physical now and have more size than years past.

Right. Look at the Texans, Philly, Bills, Ravens, KC, Dolphins, etc. All of these teams build or at least try to build the team around their QB. We had a generational talent at QB, that took a ragtag receiving group and aging backfield to the SuperBowl because the FO got lucky with a couple of FA olinemen. They really weren't even that good and got exposed in the Super Bowl. So what do we do the next draft? Use it on a DT in the 1st and CBs with the next 3 picks trying to replace a guy they fumbled the bag on because of ego. I'll never forgive them for that. Never

Fwiw, I feel some sympathy for DJ Moore. One of the better receivers in the league, and has never ever had a qb that could consistently deliver the ball to him. If he played for Buffalo, KC, or Green Bay, he might be a pro bowl wr.

One thing to keep in mind is our forcheck has actually had more success than theirs in previous matchups Bob was the difference along with us missing key guys....

Both teams were not very good last year, so at this point, its a wash.
