Absolutely agree! Of course, I don't think the Jets ability to read a room has ever been their strong suit.
-
Yeah, just one of those complete head scratchers like WTF was THAT??? I'm not sold on Penix as a long-term starting QB yet, but he's normally a lot better than that. Dude looked like a guy signed off the couch who was gonna go right back to the couch. LOL
-
Pretty sure he just straight up retired.
-
Yeah, honestly he has been significantly more durable than this Superman-esque QB in Anthony Richardson that so many here lusted for. If anything, Bryce has dramatically outdone the qualms about his size and durability. Now his QB play.....woof.
-
I am burned out on Bryce debate so without getting too deep into it… I appreciate your perspective in some of those thoughts but feel like this Bryce thing is a massively bigger concern that JR’s pie chart. We are talking about having three lost seasons if this doesn’t get clearly resolved and putting at least another one on the table. It isn’t scratching the itch, let me just put it that way

If they want to be petty, they could just retweet this. Nothing else needs to be said.
-
That was worse than Bryce's worst NFL game of his career to date. He was fuging atrocious.
-
Considering how wide the gap is between our spending on the offense versus the defense for the year I would say overall the defense has held up their end of the bargain and then some. Now it's up to the offense to manage more than one measly trip to the end zone.
-
Well that is the difference between Cam and a lot of QB's. I certainly hope no one is confusing Bryce with an elite QB talent anymore. The remaining Bryce question is really if he is even an NFL starting QB.
-
That and the Falcons just inexplicably shitting the bed. Not to say our defense had no part in that, but the Falcons definitely just flat out didn't show up that day and Penix in particular was god awful.
-
Just look at the JAG's Cam had to work with and he excelled. No more excuses.
-
Buffalo is not playing like an elite team. That New England team that whipped us is also not that good of a team. We will see how it goes.
-
I've rarely heard anyone ever use this metric but for some reason you're using it to push an agenda for a practice squad QB who has 800+ less attempts than the guy you're drawing a comparison to. You've gone off the deep end.
-
I want to see our passing offense operate at a level that isn't marginally better than when Jimmy Clausen was QB. There's a whole world of middle ground between that and throwing for 400 yards every game. If you can't handle that the problem is you.
-
Teams are putting things like this on social media for better or worse it isn't limited to just being at our expense. That's social media now. As far as the play it does not appear intentional. If it was we would know it when we see it given our history. Honestly Bryce is lucky he is playing in this era I legitimately don't think he would have survived 15 or 20 yeara ago compared to what is considered roughing the passer now.
-
Honestly, they've been playing at the level of their opponents. That can be maddening at times, but it's working for us now. We were better against Dallas than the score shows. Let's hope we can do the same with Buffalo, just do enough to stay one scoring opportunity ahead of them. Our best shot there is that the game becomes an ugly slugfest dictated by the running backs and that we somehow keep Josh Allen bottled up. This is probably our toughest test of the entire season. If we squeak out a win somehow, then Canales and (I can't believe I'm saying this) Evero deserve some serious kudos. Still, on that defensive ranking, we're buoyed greatly by playing the Jets last week.
-
Yeah it is nice seeing some improvement on the defensive side and the young guys. I don’t want to think about the future much if Bryce doesn’t heal and we are kept in this limbo via an incomplete test. It is depressing I don’t have quite as dim a view of the 24 draft class as you do I have modest hopes for XL compared to none. I like CSW. Am a little cooler on Sanders but at the same time realized this week that Morgan getting that future 2nd for moving down turned into Scourton. I think. Jackson is a real value in exchange for the guy we took with the 7th. I don’t expect anything from Brooks but Wallace seems to have improved enough to not bust. And Coker is in with them, but is giving us nothing this year. So far, and it is almost half over I hope Andy still has enough to make watching the offense less of a claustrophobic experience. And there is a small chance we upset the Bills but just playing them tough and making it a fun game to watch will be enough.

Bryce haters gunna hate. Can't change that. Bryce has been pretty durable all things considered. A couple minor injuries considering how much he was hammered year 1. And he still takes hits. Dude is tough. The play in question is a football play, poo happens. That's ultimately what happened. Guys running around, trying to stop Young and stuff happened. Sucks but that's how it goes. For me, I'd rather see Young play. He will either prove that he's the Dude, a JAG (leaning heavily right now), or an outright bust (some of you were there on draft night, lol)

Saying the D is improved from last year is giving credit where credit is due. Our opponents are a combined 18-29-1. Our overall schedule has been very weak so far. It is what it is. I look forward to seeing how they can play against consistently better competition as the schedule ramps up.
-
I know we’re still inconsistent on offense but I love watching a good defense and it’s been our culture since inception. We have our identity back!
-
Our opponents have poor records, but that should now overshadow just how impressive this defense has been. Yeah the Jets are winless, but they can put up points in bunches. So far this season, the Panthers are the only team to hold the Jets to single digits in points:

Speaking of revisiting trades: Brian Burns
DeAngelo Beason replied to Peon Awesome's topic in Carolina Panthers
The Fitterer situation is funny to me. I recall defending his personnel decisions, particularly as it relates to QB, and getting flamed for it. Yet, sure enough, the two QBs he brought in are arguably the two best QBs in football right now.
