Tankathon: Where we stand on draft position…..
jfra78 replied to WarPanthers89's topic in Carolina Panthers
Top ten - go defense - get a vet QB - get a defensive HC - kick Bryce to the curb- suck again next year -
He doesn't have a weak leg... He may have control issues. Hard to say. Dude did hit a 57 yarder...

I hope we finish 7-10 just to spite the tankers. Draft position doesn’t mean a damn thing if nobody wants to coach here or come here from Free Agency. It means you also need to have people make the correct pick. -

Or the fans, at least. That said, this was the easy stretch of our schedule, so.... -

My early take is that it's going to be extremely hard to break into the top 3. We are bad, but Titans, Jets, Saints are horrid. -

You can already circle that week 18 game against Tampa as a W. They'll be sitting everyone. -
60 yard field goals are becoming the norm and we are happy with a guy that barely manages to kick it 55. This is the state the franchise is in. David Tepper has massacred us.
-
Although true he is incredible... He was not particularly great in weeks 1 and 2 either (compared to Past Burrow). As Panthers fans we dream of 113 yards and a TD with no turnovers, but still, that's far below what he usually can do. Something more than just the QB seems off in Cincy.

Listen man. Bryce Young sucks. I ain't watching this stupid damn video. He's a bust. That's the end of the story.

You can set your calendar by it. The teams true colors is evident by game 4 or 5. -

Burrow isn't expected to return until December. By then the Bengals' season is gonna be over. They're insane if they put him back on the field again this year. -

Mostly revolves around that it can be worse from a GM perspective, and he's done a respectable job here. 2024 FA draft is pretty solid, 2024 draft n/a but trending towards bust with those first two picks, 2025 too early. -

You're gonna drive yourself crazy focusing on draft position this early. This is a long, hard slog and spoiler alert... we're gonna win just enough throwaway games post-Thanksgiving to knock us into the bottom portion of the top 10 and give the copers hope that Bryce has turned the corner again. -

Top 10 again. At least we are consistent. -

The Richardson family needs to somehow regain ownership of the team. Tepper is a slimeball yankee (no offense to my northern friends) and he has brought his slimeball yankee ways with him. -

Joe Burrow should probably win the MVP in absentia. The Bengals are every bit as bad as we are sans Burrow. -

This should probably be pinned. Just like every year, all hope is lost 4 games into the season. This will be ongoing, but we currently hold the number 8 overall pick. It is extremely likely that we will end up much higher, as I don’t see many winnable games unless we make a change to the burnt out red rocket.

Id start with the scouting and talent evaluators. If they work here now, they shouldn’t. Fire them all. Every one. Then I’d clean out the FO, President, VP, GM everyone. Then all the coaches. Then I’d hire an outside firm to come in and hire football people. Only then can you start to address the pathetic product being slopped on the field. And that will take time and the usual amount of luck. -
raleigh-panther started following Mike kaye and josh graham on panthers issues
-
better to listen but this my brief summary. Panthers discussion about 8 mins of this video mike kaye is around the team and mint st ill take hos word over others 1. Panthers Not able to carry over operationally from 2024 or is a concern 2. still trying to figure themselves out after 21 games in the Canales era 3. Issue Young cannot consistently elevate the product around him 4. on Young, overarching issues were not on young but yet to see he could carry a team. Given that, Is it worth picking up 5th year contract Could be young needs change of scenery and panthers need a new qb 5 discussion of personnel issues etc 6 lot of the approaches are half baked and contradictory

The TMAC pick gives me hope though. Just draft BPA, whether that is QB or not -

I said this prior to the draft... Nothing around here will change until we completely overhaul the scouting department, pro and college. I believe Linville or one of the other mods said to wait until after the draft, yet here we are. Bad draft after bad draft FOR YEARS is completely unacceptable. Free agent signings have also been subpar at best. Add bad trades to that mix and you have a perennial cellar dweller. First step should be to hire a GM with a PROVEN record of scouting and talent eval. Keep Tillis for financials and build the right way. -
