  1. Past hour
  2. BREAKING: The Carolina Panthers have fired Charlie Rock, of the team's communications department, for an insensitive post regarding the murder of Charlie Kirk, a source familiar with the organization's decision tells me. Story to come.
  3. While it is too early to determine "I told you so" victors, I was banging the table for Daniel Jones--of course, that was before I realized that Carolina was the minor leagues for QB development.
  4. You do realize that XL and Ladd both ran a 4.39 at the combine. Ladd had a slightly better 10 yard split.
  5. They will not fall for that type of resurrection again. His ceiling is a good backup that can come in and win you 2 or 3 games if your starter goes down. That is what he has proven so far. He has to prove he can do it for a full season before that is even considered. The clock is ticking.
  6. It is just week 1. CJ Stroud also looked bad. Let's give Bryce a couple games before the pitch forks come out. Canales is to blame for the team looking flat again to start the year. The play calling is atrocious and why this team continues to try to run when the run isn't working, is baffling.
  7. Are you going to win with Bryce consistently if he is playing at his best? If "NO" then you have your answer.
  8. The answer: If a QB is bad, it's front and center. It's an issue to glaring to ignore and it simply mutes the other problems. That's just the reality. Same goes with a bad coaching situation. (I don't think we're here yet, getting close at DC)
  9. If he is benched I would expect a repeat of last year. As for what those people will do well they set it up again this year thr same way so it shows intent of repeating. If I see Young sat then I fear we are going down that road. Nothing the people in charge has done this year leads me to think anything has really changed...yet
  10. I do not think they will pick up his option as it stands right now. If he's benched again he will have to compete for a backup role if he's not traded before he reaches the end of his rookie contract.
  11. I mean, Bryce Young is literally in an offense that is constructed to be about the deep ball. He just is bad at it and it goes against he how naturally plays/skill set. It's also why his completion % is garbage every year and why he leads the NFL in bad throw % since arriving. He doesn't fit the O scheme and what it asks. The offensive scheme requires it. It would be like putting rookie Cam in some small ball O and saying the stats back he likes doing that. It would have gone against everything he was at that time. It was his worst ball. But Bryce Young doesn't like it nor is he good at it. No one that watches Bryce Young play football would actually say he wants to go downfield with the ball and that his thing.....that some deep stat narrative that gets pushed. It's why he went 0-4 on basically easy deep shots Sunday. Big time throws can be a 5 yards slant. It's bologna. And PFF would award Bryce as the best deep passer going 1/4 over some dude chucking it for multiple scores.
  12. Legette hasn’t shown at this level yet he can break tackles like Shenault
  13. Its hilarious how 80-90% of the board was all in on letting Bryce sink or swim. But after one week of watching it, it's like holy poo save us from this.
  14. ML is ALWAYS good. 17 hits. But the spread can be tricky (see KC last year).
  15. I'm going with Cardinals -9.5 this week, so that's guaranteed to lose. Money line should be good.
  16. The team didn't fire him. He fired himself. Kind of like -- never mind.
  17. If they sit him then he will get to meh again. It's motivation, time for thr team to gel with more competent play at QB and he is good in practice. That's how you end up with the dummies in charge picking up his 5th year option and us doing the exact same BS for 3 years in a row.
  18. Going 0-17 with or without Young is an entire pie, not a bite. Never turn down any return if it's the best return.
  19. If you bench him, you’re trotting in Dalton who was absolutely terrible after his first chunk yardage performance last season. He has also had a lot of random injuries and is getting up there in age. So you really just have to keep playing Bryce unless you’re willing to trade midseason. But if you make a trade for some mid backup talent, like let’s say Brandon Allen, it’s a sign you’re looking at the exits and you have to commit to being done with Bryce. So I say you ride him out. Scenarios: 1-He has a unprecedented turnaround 2-He does pretty bad but never so awful that we can’t finish the year. Spirits stay aight until late in season. We trade him in the offseason for a late rounder. Draft or Sign our new QB (or both) 3-He does so bad, Dave loses the locker room and we need to make a drastic move. We bench, try Dalton, trade/sign a backup plan, he eventually gets cut if not traded
  20. Yep so instead they double down on their stupidity and we all suffer.
  21. Realistically, though... what return. Honestly, I'd be willing to give up the 6th round pick we could hope to get for Bryce at this point just to see Tepper take the big bite of humble pie that releasing Bryce would be. For the long-term health of the franchise, you must admit that visible display of Tepper admitting that he fugged up and should stay out of football decisions would be monumental.
