Also Wilson was clearly uncomfortable around black people which is a problem if you’re trying to be in the nfl at all, let alone play qb. If your brothers and sisters look like this you need to get your ass transferred to LSU or something
-
Er... The defense that gave up 17 total points, despite two turnovers from the O and Horn falling twice (to give up 14 points?). They weren't great but good enough to win. Some of the guys on d may have thought they'd arrived but honestly I think the O was the problem. Bryce just can't make the ball.
-
I was actually at the season opener vs the jets and Wilson had a couple throws in the game that were definitely “oh my” moments. He could definitely spin it shame about everything else
-
Even if he does clear that incredibly low bar, that's not something you trade for. Honestly, I think he'd probably be about the same as Bryce but double the turnovers.
-
Persuasive argument there
-
So that already means he's better than bryce

I wish Jones was a pending FA but he signed a two year deal with SF. Signing someone like Jones AND Howell would be the perfect vet additions. Jones is the steadier, safer bet. Howell is the riskier play, but has the higher ceiling. Then I'd STILL keep my options open in the draft.

you trying to use a week 7 injury explain away why he has been compete ass the entire season? dude was given a thumbs up and all dealt from the mini camp thing. If you are going to use that then every player in the NFL got a forever excuse hell, without looking I’ll bet you a nickel most of his drops are before week 7. And his trash play was talked about nationally before week 7 BTJ also has never had any chemistry with Trevor. Ever. The whole BTJ breakout wasn’t even with Trevor it…was with a noddle arm QB that plays the game different/different ball than TL. THAT is the real issue. Dude don’t want to catch them balls.
-
I think you’d have to expand to 4 rounds at least if you’re including Weinke because that’s where he was drafted
-
Sam Darnold and Baker look better than Lawrence. No way Lawrence saves this team..
-
False
-
Thats exactly how the defense looked.
-
His track record as a GM in the draft from 2021-2025 has been pretty good. Free agency has been a mixed bag, for sure.

Rivera was a dude that played in the NFL and would have the respect of players. He knows the type of effort that is expected on the field and would chew out the team when needed (we also had Cam/Luke there to also do so). Canales is just a dude that wants to be everybody's friend and tell them they are God's gift and do nothing wrong. This is one of the top reasons why the guy is an awful coach - he doesn't hold any of the players responsible for playing like ass
-
Unfortunately that wish was made true...

Explain the logic on a 3rd string rookie QB appreciating in draft value? He has played zero snaps. What caused his value to rise?
-
And the last 2 years were not very impressive from what I have seen in comparison to that '23 year. Yeah not comparing to the Panthers. It's an too easy of a curve to give, like comparing other QBs to Bryce. Texans had a great year 3 years ago and nothing much since then that I can see on thst side of the ball. He seemed to have worked well with BB for sure but we all know who wore the belt up there too. Never said he was terrible, just he had moments.
-
I see what you did there, nice work.
-
Also on Canales in general, don't feel like he's the type of coach who's going to mother fug somebody in private. And in the NFL...college...high school...that's a problem. The clip went viral of Rivera tearing the team a new one in the locker room a few weeks ago, but you have to have that in you. Morgan can't preach bringing in "dawgs" if our HC is a choir boy on the sideline clapping and saying yes sir Mr. Ref. Not saying he needs to be Dan Campbell...but he can't be milquetoast Disney sports movie guy 100% of the time

Honestly, I don't have a problem with the deal they signed. It's actually far more team friendly than most of the other top 15 QB contracts. It was a fair deal all around. Don't love the player but it's not a major ordeal to move on after a couple of seasons. -
Very sound logic there, unless the hiring was conditional on the willingness to fix an unfixable problem at qb.
-
Lol of course the team is at fault but the players also singed the deal (for a Purdy it's an easy duh) . Purdy was a great example of a guy who is priceless on a rookie contract and should be avoided at market rates in the NFL. Trading for Jones and having to pay him would be just as bad. Neither are worth trading for but Mac in free agency at the right price could be a decent bridge. That's not a retooling for the 49ers, it's a regression around a cap fumble they have to eat a while longer. They might pull it off with their skills but it wouldn't be the NFL norm
-
He is more along the lines of a Fitzgerald/Hopkins/etc. Big, rangy guy that wins by running good routes and winning 50/50 balls. He needs to get his hands stronger and improve his concentration. A fairly significant chunk of his issues have been off target throws. That has plagued the entire receiving corps with Bryce. He's just so incredibly inaccurate as a passer and his timing is awful. I think TMac will be fine. We just need him to keep working to reach his overall ceiling.
