A 0 in blocking for Zavala is incredible. How is he on the roster? The fact our linebackers suck is maybe the worst thing though. In a 3-4 that's the most important position. We drafted great linebackers consistently for decades before this stupid shift to the 3-4 and now we just have garbage

Carolina Cajun started following Jaycee Horns post game Comments
-
I didn't watch or listen to any of the post yesterday, was too disgusted, but I saw this today and I noticed something. I noticed 2 things. First, Just something that personally bothers me is Im so fugging tired of hearing people in our Locker room say "we had a good week of practice"... Seriously, We hear it from Jaycee, Bryce, DB and Chuba, and while I love em and love their effort, They have NEVER been part of a winning team in the NFL. None of them know what a REAL good week of practice looks like. Sure you can have some weeks where things go wrong and even a good week of practice helps, but when its EVERY week, then well...maybe something isnt being done during the week. The second thing I noticed was an omission in his statement. Someone was missing in that list. Ya know TEAM LEADERS. Lets see, Captains for the year are DB, JJ Jansen and theres some other guy...I dunno WHO it could be.... Honestly though, when your QB, your THIRD YEAR QB, and THIRD TIME team captain QB is NOT a team leader...holy poo youve got massive problems.

Buddy I got bad news -
Well obviously we'd need to draft our guy long-term, but this upcoming QB class isn't looking very good so it's likely going to be at least 2027 before we draft a QB early again. It's either try to find a decent bridge QB or stick it out with Bryce. I don't know of any other options.

If Canales had this team showing signs of progress being made then I’d be all for giving him more time but he’s not This is the exact same team/crap we saw for the bulk of last year. The floor for me this season was 6-7 wins. There needs to be improvement of some sort. 6 wins while being competitive I probably could’ve lived with but we’re not even that. Our 3 losses have been blow outs. I left at halftime in Arizona so is that late comeback considered us being competitive? Either way our 3 losses have been fu*king UGLY. There’s been no signs of life which is why I believe both Dan and Dave need to go asap So many Tepper can convince the next guy he’ll have a longer leash if he’s capable of showing that there’s progress being made year to year -
To put these numbers into better focus, panthers overall had better “offensive efficiency” than the patriots.

All of this is well and good but the issue still sits in the owner's chair. Dave Tepper is hands on and a decision maker with no idea of how to run a football team. Good people don't want to come here and that starts at the top. He needs to be an owner and that's it. Hire a president of football operations that knows what he's doing and build down from there. The only identity this team has right now is get paid/get fired retirement fund. Until that changes, nothing else matters. -
Might be WR3 if Coker comes back and lights it up but XL doesn't. Gonna pull for XL til he's no longer a Panther regardless. I gotta support folks from the Carolinas when they make it to the league.

Starting Zavala over Christensen was always a head-scratcher to me. Brady should be the first guy off the bench at every position.
-
If any backup qb out there had any potential to be a starter they would be a starter already. A backup is a backup for a reason. They are the last resort when the starter goes down. When the starter goes down for more then a few games their teams season is over. Looking for someone's backup as a future starter is a waste a time and energy. Also teams do not develop qbs outside of their starter.

Darnold and Mayfield at least have redeemable NFL qualities and BY doesn't. He'd have to be on a roster full of all pro's to look serviceable. -

Don't think you can trade Horn right now. He'd be a 22m dead cap hit next year and 6m this year. Brown more likely but still not likely. 15.5m cap hit in 2026 and 5.5m this year. Moton is untradable til 2026 at best. Outside of Tet, not much else on the roster has trade value above a 2nd round pick either. -
He looks like he's one smart comment away from snatching up some poor BOA vendor by the collar and demanding a liter 'a cola.

Move the Panthers to Raleigh replied to electro's horse's topic in Carolina Panthers
I agree on most points, but if we fire Canales now, we are basically the Jets. Even if he is not here long term, the next qualified candidate needs to know he has some time to right the ship -
Who are the top QB prospects for the 2015 draft?
Jon Snow replied to Panthero's topic in 2015 NFL Draft
I wouldn't feel comfortable with any Kiper endorsement. It's been well documented that Kiper doesn't no squat. -
One guy I wouldn't mind us taking a flyer on for a late round pick is Aidan O'Connell from the Raiders. I got to watch him play a lot his rookie year since my dad is a Raiders fan and I think he's got starter potential. If nothing else he can be a solid backup/bridge QB until we draft a QB in a couple years.

Icege started following PFF Grades for Week 3 @ NE
-
Bah Gawd, six missed tackles on special teams in one outing? We are in LB Hell. Bryce Young and Chandler Zavala bottom two offense grades? Some fans are going to believe PFF this week (or try to cope with, "even PFF could see how bad Bryce was!!!"). What more do Brady Christensen and Lathan Ransom have to do to stay on the field?

At the quarter point of year two under Canales I think it is obvious that certain changes are necessary: Dave needs to give up play calling. His scripted plays work out well, he can still contribute those weekly, but he needs to let the OC be the OC. Canales' job is to be the CEO. You can't trot out a team that is unprepared on 3 levels, on a consistent basis, and not claim you are fully focused on the "main thing". As Cam says, "Let the main thing be the main thing" There needs to be a serious conversation between Morgan and Evero. The lack of pass rush and ILB play are putrid. There is solid DL play and DB play. Fix at least one issue via trade or scheme. My thoughts are that EE is so pissed about the personnel that he is refusing to adapt his system to what we have. That's a friable offense in my opinion. Bryce is on the clock. If DC gives up his play calling and the OC can't make BY fit the scheme, we need to bring in competition via the draft or free agency. Dalton isn't competition. I wouldn't necessarily go for a high first round pick at QB, but I wouldn't throw out the possibility of a late first round trade up or 2nd round pick on a QB who fits the mold of what we want to do. Evero is gone at the end of the season, if not before. You need to bring in a hard ass DC. We need a guy who is all about accountability and will not take poo from anyone. We really need to look at our athletic training staff. This is year three of starting the season with significant injuries. Last year it was on defense. This year it is on offense. I'm not sure if it is a curse or poor preparation. I really think it goes back to training camp, ex.. joint practices with the Texans. With Dave signed to a six year contract I don't see this being a make it or bust year, but if there is significant regression from last year, year three will make it or break it for him too.

well i'll be.

Sanders is too small, too slow, with a weak arm....we already have one of those.
