All three charlotte Observer predictors took the Panthers to beat the Jets last week, so the margin among the trio has stayed the same. Fowler maintains a hefty lead at 6-1 over Kaye (2-5) and Zietlow (2-5). Fowler: Panthers 27, Bills 26. Even as I write this, I am having a hard time believing I am going to pick against reigning MVP Josh Allen and Buffalo. But the Panthers are a far better team when playing at home (3-0). The Panthers at least have a shot if they play turnover-free football and run the ball at least 35-40 times against Buffalo’s 31st-ranked rushing defense (with 70% of those carries going to Rico Dowdle, preferably). Put me down for an upset and, hey, if it doesn’t work out, at least I’m giving my colleagues a chance to catch up. Kaye: Bills 27, Panthers 24. I think this game will be close, regardless of who will be at QB for Carolina. The Panthers should have plenty of success on the ground with a few Tetairoa McMillan moments sprinkled in. Josh Allen, though, can be a monster on the football field, and it’s late October. Zietlow: Bills 38, Panthers 21. Trust me, I’ve heard the same things you have. The Bills haven’t beaten a team over .500 yet. They’ve lost two straight. The Panthers brought in former Bills quarterback Mike White to the practice squad to find a competitive edge. Etc. Etc. But this is a game the Bills need to win in order to get on the right track — and a bye week of preparation will only help Josh Allen and the rest of the team in this effort. I think the Panthers hold close for a while, but then the Bills pull away at the end.

Anthony Richardson has been plagued by injuries and what does his play have to do with Hendon. Richardson was a combine warrior his passing stats in college never showed elite he was drafted on potential. Hendon was an elite passer in college and is near the top of all time Tennessee passing stats. The jury is still out on what Hooker ability at this level is.

AI Analysis on ideal round to draft certain positions.
toldozer replied to SCO96's topic in Carolina Panthers
I had a neighbor of a customer come out screaming that we were breaking city ordinance. I said show it to me, this fool pulls out his phone and right at the top says AI overview. Did you know sir that there are government websites where you can find city ordinances? He looked completely baffled that AI overview is indeed not law. He told me he was going to go find the ordinance and I never saw him again. -
Anthony Richardson has a stronger arm and is more mobile. How is that working out? Stop focusing on raw attributes and not ability to actually play football. That's how we ended up this bad as a franchise in the first place. It's Tepper/Fitterer BS. Bryce Young has the ability to play NFL football. Unfortunately, it's at an NFL backup level, at best. Hendon Hooker has no ability to play NFL football. Same as Anthony Richardson or Jack Plummer or Matt Corral or....

Coaching they have clear advantage. Roster depth I dont think they are much better than the Panthers. Cam was MVP level player but one man can't do it alone. Buffalo receivers have been underwhelming. Baltimore was their best win in the 1st week and they got gashed in the run game. The two decent teams faced NE and Atlanta they lost. Had a struggle at home against the 1 win Saints. They appear to be paper tigers.

Hendon has a stronger arm than Bryce and more mobile. I doubt the separation if any is as dramatic as that.

The Panthers are going to win this game today. Outside Josh Allen I dont see where Buffalo has a clear advantage. Their defense has been porous against the run, their safety play hasn't been good, they're starting Poyer today who was on their practice squad. I dont think they have the receivers capable of beating Horn and Jackson on the outside, it just depends on how Evero calls the game if we just sit back in zone and let Allen work it could be a long day but I think he should test whether they have the horses to win 1:1 matchups. Offensively the Panthers need to run, run, preferably alot of Dowdle with Andy taking his playaction shots when available. I think the Panthers dominate this contest decidedly.

He was another one of those five year guys that didn't really appreciably seem to develop a lot from Year 1 to Year 5. He was a good college player but not great. Which, in fairness to him, he's been relatively the same guy he was in college. I guess that is the real thing, is it possible for him to actually develop further? That's my criticism of guys like Winston/Howell, they don't appear to have any way to develop. Right now, he does look on track to have a lengthy backup NFL career and for a 5th round pick, that would be a success in my book.

He was a highly ranked high school guy. I think those guys are probably worth keeping track of. A lot of the failure comes from huge expectations mixed with immaturity. Which I am not saying that was or wasn’t him it’s just a common thing when you see then not live up to expectations. A lot to deal with at 19 years old. Some mature late, still have those skills that made them stand out. So many fall through the cracks.

A QB that threw for nearly 4000 yds. 21 TDs in his first full season as a QB. God forbid a first-year starter actually doesn't throw interceptions. Just for reference. Payton Manning threw for less yard and more INTs than TD (28-26). So, you're basically saying they should have benched Manning after his first full season at QB.
