Bryce might be the most frustrating player we've ever had.
kungfoodude replied to OneBadCat's topic in Carolina Panthers
It really makes no sense. People talk about Cam wearing his emotions on his sleeve and it's true. But Bryce's body language and demeanor seem very telling during games, as well. Sometimes you can just tell it's gonna be a rough one. I definitely think he is still plagued by confidence problems. -
Yep, not to mention people wanted the guy we picked up on waivers sitting on the practice squad over Brown too. Conventional draft wisdom is you don't typically draft a DT in the top 10 unless yiou have a generational talent. Brown was/is and folks refused to see it at the time because of a few low RAS metrics.

That’s also classic Panthers brand football going back to the beginning. This team has only found success being a run first team and having a stout defense that forces turnovers.

I am starting to think he’s manic depressive, at least while he’s on the football field. Some games he looks like he wants to be anywhere other than playing football and then games like yesterday he’s smiling the whole game. It’s really weird. -
I kept saying to my buddy that the blocked shots and deflected shots were nuts. That would honestly be a team I would hate to see in a playoff scenario. They have the ability to frustrate the fug out of us. Then they largely tilted the ice during the third period and I was sweating bullets.
-
Dude changed the course of the game twice yesterday as a DT. Freaking amazing! I'm not sure if he got a game ball or not, but he definitely deserved one.

they go from being a kid in college to competing with grown ass millionaire men in a matter of months. its a big adjustment.

Who are the top QB prospects for the 2015 draft?
kungfoodude replied to Panthero's topic in 2015 NFL Draft
I don't know. I don't recall him having particularly high stock on most of the draft stuff that I personally saw. Maybe I just missed it. He definitely didn't take any next step, that's for sure. I will add John Mateer. He was a first round radar guy after his last season at Washington St. and he really did not have a good year at OU. Hurt the team too many times with TO's and poor play. -
I keep bringing it up. A lot of people on this board were calling him a bust his second season. People on here are so quick to give up on a guy who is just getting used to the pro leagues. Brown's absence last year was the big reason the defense struggled. He impacts games.

hes drunk. 75% of the population cant throw the ball over 25 yds in the air much less accurately.

on 3rd and 4th downs yesterday he was incredible -
That three consecutive plays he blew up Williams needs to be put in The Louvre. I don’t recall the last time a safety got three shots like that in on one guy, in one series, nor consecutively. Insane. Love his physicality, and I think he’s got great potential in coverage as well.

When Mahommes or other top QBs hits one of their open receivers, I never hear people say “any joe schmo could make that pass!” The best quarterbacks have wide receivers who can create separation. Give Bryce credit.

We are sitting at 7-6, half a game back in the division. Bye week on deck. What is our final record and do we make the playoffs? Do we win the division or make a wildcard spot? Have to beat the Saints. Assuming they won’t sweep us this season. I think we get Tampa at home, but lose to them on the road. Toss up game is Seattle. Tampa has us twice, Saints at home, Atlanta at home, and at Miami. I say we get to 10-7. Not sure what the tiebreaker would be with the Bucs but I think that would be good enough to get, at the least, a wildcard spot.

He has those every time we play the falcons lol. It’s either 5 TDs or 400+ passing yards. -
It doesnt work like that

So you don't feel when you are down by a few points at the ends of the game and the Panthers have the ball, he will drive the team down the field and score? He's done that with most of his wins. If that's his best over achieving quality and otherwise he's just a good game manager, I'll take it. Super stars like Mahomes, Jackson and Allen (all league MVPs) are not that common. And Allen and Jackson haven't won anything yet. I'll keep saying it. The Panthers will give him the starting job next year easily and if he continues to improve or what we all want to be a consistent winner, he gets his contract. If he doesn't, he gets his 5th year picked up (start of 2026) and they'll draft or sign someone to compete. But every week most fans love him, then hate him, etc. At least you consistently have doubted him, I'll give you that. But he has some good qualities late in the game. As good as Arnold has been, do you think we would have handled the benching last year the same?
