  1. Past hour
  2. Right but this sounds more like a guy who loves the game and wants to give back by helping local kids play that game. Giving potentially underprivileged kids an uber home or buying them food isn’t cheating. It’s being a good person.
  3. While posters are still throwing punches with facts and opinions. AT was injured because he absolutely laid out for a perfect TD ball, gangster.
  4. It always amuses me to see posts like this. The one guy who would be mad about us actually having a franchise QB no longer posts here. His name was Ickmule.
  5. I'd definitely like to see him stick around but it's not that simple unfortunately. We'll see how it plays out. Either way we need to make a concerted effort to prioritize the guys who display a knack for being intensely competitive. Give me that all day over these dudes just chucking up bad shots.
  6. Adam Thielen has some of the best hands we have ever had on the Panthers. He makes some fantastic catches. Its always good to have that one veteran guy a qb can rely on when the game is on the line.
  7. https://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/article/nfl-2nd-round-pick-contract-tracker-over-half-the-selections-have-now-agreed-to-deals-including-some-guaranteed-210301231.html No. 50: TE Elijah Arroyo, Seattle Seahawks 4-year, $8.813 million deal with $6.872 million guaranteed Nic has his limits now.

  9. Looking like up til pick 37 are getting fully guaranteed deals thus far-(I bet 40 Tyler gets a full deal) https://x.com/MikeGarafolo/status/1946308964938809800 Phins and Seahawks traded up for their players and now gave them fully deals.
  10. One thing I am surprised about is his passing and timing of the pass. He's much better than I thought in this regard. Smart passes while in a flow. He seems to have deep range on his 3 as well. I want to see him D up players that are not going to Amazon drivers in a few weeks. Spurs players did go at him some and he held up. It was a rough game, everyone going to need ice baths.
  11. Yeah anyone who watched him play knows he's competitive. Doesn't mean he wasn't eventually annoyed with the losing situation and didn't put up a fight over being held out which didn't help matters. I don’t necessarily blame him. But the team did back up a brinks truck for his services so it's a two way street. Just for clarification. That is@TrevorLaurenceTime22 who once upon a time quit the huddle when McCaffrey was traded. Christian McCaffrey could piss on his head and he'd still compliment him.
  12. there have been numerous 2nd rounders who have signed today as rookies report next week. No word on Scourton. Hopefully soon. Really hope he reports Monday and we on to business on the field.
  13. Buying the band lunch during an official function is one thing. Buying transfers through promises of financial aid from individual coaches, donors, etc. is another. Now I'm not saying that's what Teddy did and I don't think that's what he did, so I think they are mis-applying the rules here. I find his situation different from say, what Pruitt was doing at Tennessee. It's sort of like what Saban helped his players do. Buy them Ferrari's, lodging, etc. You know?
  14. I agree, but I've already said that the players will definitely take more money up front because it's more security. But they want more guaranteed money and NFL FOs don't want to do that for several and various reasons, and that's what's at issue. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/nfl-second-round-rookies-finally-starting-to-sign-what-took-so-long-and-what-it-means-for-future-contracts/ It's a tug of war between teams and players, and, sure, paying a player a signing bonus may satisfy them, especially if--and sometimes "only if"--it ultimately leads to a guarantee of more of their contract, but the teams are on the hook for all of those guarantees when cap time comes, so if they guarantee more money, they're ultimately losing the contract game.
  15. TBH, these are the kind of players that get weeded out of professional sports pretty quickly. Also, CMC is not that guy. There is zero indication that he isn't competitive.
  16. I like the free agency. It actually helps basically all schools across the board. Pretty much only ancient HC's and/or HC's that haven't been able to adjust have been complaining about the free agency. Your fortunes can be made or broken every offseason. It's not like before where a bad recruiting class or two meant multiyear purgatory. I will never understand all the bellyaching about the NIL. If you want to talk about what ruined college athletics, it has been naked greed. Conference expansions for TV revenue, ever skyrocketing AD and facilities costs and now the attempts to permanently ruin the postseasons(football and basketball). All the kids did was get a very well deserved piece of a very, very, VERY broken pie.
  17. Nobody is saying they don't count against the cap, because yes, they technically do count against the cap as it's money the team is paying and it needs to be accounted for. But what you're not grasping it seems is that if a player gets $10 million guaranteed in their contract, whether they get literally $0 as a signing bonus or $8 million as a signing bonus, it doesn't change the overall cap hit of the contract, because cap hits are about the guaranteed money, not how much is paid up front. The only thing that how much is paid up front changes, is how the cap hit can be spread out amongst the years. So yes, technically there could end up being a slightly bigger cap hit in year 3 and 4 due to a bigger signing bonus, but if that is the case, it also means there will be a lesser cap hit in years 1 and 2 than there would have been with a smaller bonus. But over the length of the contract, the size of the signing bonus has literally zero affect on the overall cap hit of the contract, because THAT part of it is 100% about the guaranteed money and nothing else.
  18. He could have the same year as 2024 and you still would be making excuses for him. So I guess we're even.
  19. 99% of my complaints generally are front office complaints. It may not appear that way always but that's where I have been for some time. It's also why I constantly talk about random parts the last several years.... to this day, if they were going to draft Bryce Young....I thought they needed to do specific things. They have literally done the opposite. In a certain world, I would LOVE an AT. A Bryce Young. An XL. All sorts of people. How they have chosen to put it all together here? Meh. I still think if Bryce Young is your QB....the easiest and obvious play for a team....would be a dynamic slot WR, a rec RB, and solid rec TE. Spread it out. Let him be the point guard. I still think this team is being built for a different type QB....one that a Jake Delhomme style QB would thrive more in. Which is in fact the heart of what Canales has been around and done. So I nitpick it all. If I had thought Bryce Young was going to rebound....I would have NEVER been all in on XL like I was. I was all in XL because I thought the BY experiment was about to over quick. Ladd would have made way more sense if you believed in BY IMO. I don't think this team did. I think Dave drafted XL because they were mentally ready to move on and did after 2 weeks. and I thought the Frank think was bologna from the jump. I just have hate the pairings and plan every since Rhule year 1. Rhule year 1 was the last time I really thought this team was in a good place to give it a go. It went horribly. But....the zoomed out plan was pretty logical all around. Rhule just was not ready and a clown on top of that. I still think the Dave, BY, XL, Tmac build 3 round pegs and a square one at the end of the day. Worst thing to happen to BY was to land in Carolina IMO. Which is often how the NFL plays out. Where you land and what the org does matters probably more than raw talent/ability often. I do not actually have a problem with Adam Thielen in a vacuum. He is overperforming in a vacuum all things considered.
  20. Bryce Young could throw for 40 tds and 4500 yards this season and my gut instinct still says you would triple down on hating him.
  21. They should just be predetermined slotted contracts. I feel like that was the intention of the current system, but they left too much room for interpretation about guaranteed money. I agree though. You play for who drafts you or you don't play.
  22. Hell, my wife has picked up walking students on the way to school, uh-oh... I've given kids waters and Kleenexes, well damnit I'm a criminal.
