  1. Riverwalk is in San Antonio, it’s closer to New Braunfels than Austin. Not sure what you’re into but I’ll make some winter friendly suggestions. My advice is to just make a plan beforehand and you’ll have a good time. Yea there’s some scummy areas but it’s a major city like any other. There’s places to stay away from and 6th St. after midnight is one of them. Winter around Christmas time is the best time to visit when the weather is mild (most of the time) and all the students are gone. Pick out a concert to go to, the Moody Amphitheater is nice but I don’t know what their schedule will be like in the winter since it’s outside. There’s a nice little park attached to it too. The new Moody Center is a world class listening room though, top notch sound. That’ll have bigger national acts. Find a nice restaurant to go to before a show, and maybe a bar to have a nightcap at afterward. Go walk around on South Congress or dance at the Broken Spoke as some other options. If you can’t come to Austin and manage to have a good time it’s really on the person, because it’s a fun town.
  2. On the fence about whether playing the starters in either game is a good decision but it really frustrates me how much he’s coddled Darnold in the last two preseasons.
  3. Just dropped in to say the same old things I’ve always said. Long story short the evidence he’s a fraud is pretty substantial
  4. Completely agree and I would gladly eat crow should this be a playoff caliber season, but the supporting evidence that he is a fraud is pretty substantial.
  5. Too late they already did for a QB that is already on IR
  6. you still in Austin? Maybe we should go try this spot out for a game
  7. New Braunfels and Austin are very different places and well over an hour away from each other. 6th St is garbage. There's a ton of great places to go if you stay away from the obvious tourist spots. You prefer Tyler TX over Austin?? Haha oh man that is hilarious, I was just there two weekends ago. Tyler sucks except for Stanley's BBQ.
  8. he didn't hire an offensive coordinator with a 2nd year QB who was basically doing whatever McDaniels was telling him every play. Jones gonna look terrible this year just watch!
  9. I mean they need to figure out a LG who is better than Michael Jordan or else it's gonna be a very long season
  10. lol pats writer such a clown, their offense is gonna be a sh*tshow this year. patricia is a joke
  11. Yep, I played a few gigs there too with a country singer. They lasted like 4 weeks as a Panthers bar before they gave up lol
  12. It's clearly an old pic from when Washington played the Panthers in Charlotte last season. Timing of his post is interesting. Not sure if he's actually in Charlotte for a workout or anything. Maybe just a coincidence maybe more, who knows.
  13. Could mean they're cutting Kenny Robinson tho
  14. When it comes to the Rhule-circus that David Tepper created, I wouldn't be surprised if Joe Brady's friend's 3 year old daughter made the pick.
  15. San Jacinto Bar tried to be a Panthers bar back during the Superbowl run and the season after. As Panthers fans tend to do, they gave up after the team was garbage that season.
  16. I wonder if the choice to name the bar coincided with the decision to be a panthers bar lol
  17. I found this on twitter I did not make this
  18. You’re probably right about that, last Panthers bar in ATX gave up back on 2016
  19. A new Panthers bar in town apparently got a big inflatable Sir Purr. First you had my curiosity, now you have my attention.
  20. I guess you’re right, I should know to expect chaos and idiocy
  21. Let's see, in 2021 the following starters missed games due to injury or COVID. I'm not counting sitting out due to playoff position at the end of the season. ----- Jalen Hurts (Philadelphia Eagles): 1 game Kirk Cousins (Minnesota Vikings): 1 game Jimmy Garoppolo (San Francisco 49ers): 2 games Teddy Bridgewater (Denver Broncos): 3 games Kyler Murray (Arizona Cardinals): 3 games Russell Wilson (Seattle Seahawks): 3 games Jared Goff (Detroit Lions): 3 games Zack Wilson (New York Jets): 3 games Baker Mayfield (Cleveland Browns): 3 games Tua Tagovailoa (Miami Dolphins): 4 games Lamar Jackson (Baltimore Ravens): 5 games Sam Darnold (Carolina Panthers): 5 games Daniel Jones (New York Giants): 6 games Jameis Winston (New Orleans Saints): 10 games There were 2 teams that had a dual QB situation. Houston with Davis Mills and Tyrod Taylor, Chicago with Andy Dalton and Justin Fields. Both teams had their starter also miss time due to injury, whichever you consider the starter. The other 16 teams had their starter play the entire season. ---- So as you can see, there were 14 to 16 starting QBs missed games in 2021. I don't fault Matt Rhule for the comment after looking through the data. Around half the league's starting QB's missed time last year, including the two top QB's on the Panthers this season. I think it's very likely we will see Darnold start at least a game or two this season unfortunately.
  22. Aside from Rhule the entire coaching staff is a question mark for me. On defense, it's clear to me Phil Snow is not an NFL caliber coordinator. His main NFL experience prior to becoming an NFL defensive coordinator was being the LB coach on the 2008 Detroit Lions who went 0-16. Many other coaches the Panthers have played have lambasted his "college stuff" scheme. The defense was far worse than it appeared on paper (that #2 overall yardage statistic was an anomaly), in particular the run defense. I've never seen his defense just beat their opponents 1 on 1, it's all stunts and misdirection. Then a team with a quality O-Line comes in, bodies them up, and mauls them. I think the only coach Phil Snow has figured out is Kliff Kingsbury. On offense, Ben McAdoo was out of football for several years and had a hard time breaking back in. Seems like there were some solid reasons for that. We'll see if he has anything left. McAdoo absolutely deserves a head coaching job if he's able to coax a playoff caliber season out of Baker Mayfield or (gulp) Sam Darnold. I'm also not a fan of Sean Ryan from what I've seen. I'm not really sure how much coaching he is actually doing. He was a holdover from the previous offensive coordinator so who knows if McAdoo even has work for him to do. So we'll see how that all pans out.
  23. Considering Baker Mayfield has been named the Week 1 starter after not playing at all in their last preseason game, I have to wonder, why didn't Sam Darnold play? Sure, sit McCaffrey, DJ Moore, Burns, your top guys. The Patriots are dirty, they try to hurt people, I get it. Seems like Baker Mayfield was already going to be the starter before the Patriots game even happened, so hold him out if he's your starter. Why didn't Darnold play then? He's a backup. He should play. Are they concerned Darnold would look so bad he wouldn't have any trade value? He already doesn't have any trade value due to his ridiculous contract. Worried about him getting hurt? Well, anyone they trotted out there could get hurt. But again, he's a backup. I just never understood why Rhule babied Sam Darnold so much. He's earned literally nothing in the NFL and gets treated like he's an established Pro Bowl level veteran by this coaching staff. Including last season when he barely played during the preseason as well. Nothing this coaching staff does ultimately makes sense.
  24. He's lubing up our anuses for when he trots Sam out there after Baker struggles a little
