  1. Big difference trading for a proven QB than a rookie prospect. Watson is worth it. I'm not usually a supporter of trading away a lot of draft assets, but the way Rhule coaches up players, I think this team could win in 2021 and beyond with Watson at QB. Otherwise, they either need to hope one of the top QB's falls to them at 8, draft a rookie QB in the later rounds, or just suck it up and roll with Bridgewater for another season. Another all-defense draft might make for a top 5 defense in a year or two.
  2. Greg is a class act and a legendary Panther. Ring of Honor for sure. HOF maybe.
  3. Panthers don’t have the draft capital, cap space, or resources to trade for Watson. If he goes anywhere, it’ll be the Jets or Dolphins.
  4. I’m starting to realize that the likelihood the Panthers trade for Watson is extremely low. They don’t have the same draft assets the Jets or Dolphins do, who both have an extra first round pick this year. The Panthers would realistically have to give up CMC to make the deal enticing and work financially, maybe even more like Burns and 2 first round picks. The price is extremely high for a team without extra draft picks. And now with Detroit possibly entering the QB market too, Houston picking at 8 would face the same dilemma the Panthers do, probably not getting a shot at one of the top QB prospects like Fields or Wilson and having to overdraft Mac Jones or Trask. Frankly, the Panthers are in a really shitty position to upgrade at QB this offseason. So glad they beat Washington though.
  5. No thanks on Stafford. It’s Watson or rookie QB for me. Only way I am cool with Bridgewater even staying on the team is if there’s a rookie behind him waiting to start.
  6. Some companies leave job postings up for months or years and never hire anyone for this very reason.
  7. For me it was the Minnesota game. Teddy had a bad game against Tampa both times, but they are one of the best teams in the NFL this season. Teddy straight gave away the game against Minnesota and inexplicably played like trash. You would have thought he would have upped his game against his former team, but it was quite the opposite. Then he threw the coaching staff under the bus after the game. That game ended the season and Teddy's possibility of being a long term option.
  8. I agree with most of what you're saying. The trick is really finding guys that mesh well with the personality of the coaches and other players, along with like you said, the players having enough of their own inner drive to be successful. That "fire in your gut". One of the reasons I think Andy Reid is a fantastic coach is, he always seems to get the best out his players. Guys like Tyreek Hill and Kareem Hunt are massive talents with questionable character that could have destroyed a different team. Marvin Lewis used to be the guy that "rehabilitated" troubled players. It'll be interesting to see how Rhule and Fitterer build the team, because we know Rhule can squeeze extra out of his players, now the onus is on them to find guys to fit the system. I honestly think they're a good QB from being a playoff team as it stands, so I hope they draft someone or go all in for Watson. Stafford would be a disaster and keeping Bridgewater without any competition would cause a revolt from the fanbase, so I think everyone is on the same page lol
  9. What sucks for Teddy is, he really did some good things especially earlier in the season. He hadn't played a full schedule since before his injury. Part of his issues were probably conditioning, which would explain why he got worse as the season went along and why he was at his worst at the end of games. I'm probably one of the biggest Bridgewater haters on this board. I'm on record many times saying I would have rather kept Kyle Allen for a minuscule salary over Bridgewater. But I have to say I would assume Teddy would be better next season with better endurance and conditioning. I'm fine keeping him if they draft a rookie QB to sit for half or a whole season.
  10. There are NFL caliber players in every round. The variables for success are so wide ranging that sometimes a guy might have a wonderful career in one situation and be a bust somewhere else. Say Dwayne Haskins was drafted by the Steelers originally and got to spend a couple seasons on the bench on a well coached team. I have a feeling he doesn’t get cut in under 2 seasons.
  11. Teddy will start with a rookie on the bench
  12. He gets sacked a lot and hasn't achieved much without Calvin Johnson
  13. What if the new stadium is only for the soccer team
  14. Baseball is where creepy dreams are born my dude
  15. In the business and especially the software world, a “start up mentality” means long hours, being forced to party with your co-workers, low pay, drinking required, being decent at ping pong, and being a smug douche bag.
  16. Enjoy seeing the different eras on the Huddle. A lot has changed since I joined in 2006. I used to be called ganja back then. Sweet username I retired after everyone assumed I was a pothead college kid (I was). Been waiting for dark mode for years and I love it.
  17. Don't love getting Stafford. Never really saw him as a great QB. Better arm than Bridgewater and played well when he had Calvin Johnson but not much after that. It's Watson or rookie QB for me.
  18. Awesome hire. Purely awesome. Even better because now there's a legit candidate to replace Joe Brady when he becomes a head coach.
  19. Trade Bridgewater to the Colts for draft assets Trade said draft assets and more to the Texans for Watson Profit.
  20. Is there a top rookie QB on the bench? 10 Is Bridgewater the only option? 1
  21. Financially it’s the best way to get the deal done TBH
  22. Deshaun to the Jets, he would be an idiot to accept that. Their skills players are garbage and that franchise destroys careers. Plus the Bills are a monster, the Dolphins are a solid team now, and the Patriots still have Belichick. Meanwhile the NFC South has the declining Falcons who have old skill players who suck and a terrible cap situation, the Saints are turning the team over to a failed Bucs QB or a gadget player, and the Bucs are a Brady retirement away from being a dumpster fire again. I’d rather be on the Panthers with DJ, Robby, and CMC. But hey, who knows what will happen.
