Fresno State has been a noticeably different team when Haener is playing versus when he was out injured this year.

Day 1 - Young and (maybe) Stroud Day 2 - Richardson and Penix Jr Day 3 - Ward and McCall Pretty much all I'm down to right now. I've talked myself out of the rest.

The media was fishing for some drama in 2011. Cam's tape against LSU, Alabama and Oregon had him as a lock at 1 to any competent scout once Luck returned.

Probability Analysis of the Burns and DJ decision
Untouchable replied to Evil Hurney's topic in Carolina Panthers
This is not a knock on your great work here but just a general comment with these reported trade compensation. It shouldn't be assumed that what was reported was the true compensation either. Could have been equivalent value instead. Or they were only reporting one side of the trade and we would have had to send some picks or players back as well. -
1 and 2 are correct but that's easy money. Levis at 4 is certifiably crazy, but I'm sure that the idea.

Had an up close look at Stroud this past weekend and while he did have a beauty of a throw to ice the game that might have been his only "NFL throw". At least for me, it's way too hard to get a good read on him. OSU's scheme had easy reads and guys wide open all game and their OL overmatched Penn State. They also completely avoided PSU's stud corner the entire game basically only playing on half the field. Right now I don't see a QB on the level of a Lawrence or Murray. I might take the chance on Young but I'd be more happy grabbing Anderson and stacking the rest of the roster. Maybe spending a day 2 pick on Richardson and developing him.

Back up the brinks Tepper.

Elflein has been great so not going to knock it. That being said, with one game with Bozeman in, Wilks had the guys playing the brand of football Rhule had been saying he wanted his entire time here.

Was always the baseline of what to expect for CMC return
-
How is that different from normal?
-
Not always, but typically it means you're grown into who you're going to be. If you see a 21 or 22 yo there's this idea that they can still develop both physically, mentally and maybe mechanically. A 25 yo is pretty much what you see is what you get. I think that's why there's a trend of younger for 1st round picks. These COVID years kinda make it a little weird lately though. My thinking with an older prospect is not that there is necessarily something wrong, it's just I wouldn't expect anything more than what I see now.

It's really probably Stroud or Young right now and that's it. If Fitterer hangs around he may still prescribe to the build the team and just eventually drop a QB into it anyway (he's said as much before). Too many turnovers from Levis reminds me of Darnold so I'd be waiting late into Day 2 not the early to mid Rd 1 he's currently talked about. He an older prospect as well. McCall's offensive scheme makes it almost impossible to judge him. That's similar to Corral so I'd take Corral's arm talent. Could think to grab McCall on Day 3 if he comes out but he's being talked about as an early Rd 2 guy currently. Richardson might have tools but no liking his play so far or the supposed mid to late Rd 1 he's being talked about as. Haven't watch the Arkansas or Wash St QBs. Haven't watched Van Dyke closely either but he almost lost his starting job. I like what I've seen so far from Hall and Penix but are both older prospects. Someone needs to talk to BYU's QB coach btw. Hooker is older too and runs a weird offense. McKee has an arm but cant move, not something that's successful in today's NFL. Maybe the Fresno St QB as they have fallen off the cliff without him, but might not see him again this season.

This is the worst panthers team in our history

The defense and special teams are both very good units but are being completely blocked out by a historically bad offense right now. -
McAdoo was a coaching consultant with the Cowboys last season. Maybe he's trying to incorporate some of Kellen Moore's "anti-system"?
-
“The Ben McAdoo offense with the Giants was one of the more easily-adjusted to systems in the last decade once opposing defensive coordinators got film on it because it relied so heavily on 11 personnel (three wide receivers, one tight end, one back) and the slants/flats concept in the passing game,” Dan Schneier of CBS Sports and Big Blue Banter told The Riot Report. “If you had a WR who could win a one-on-one, it looked great — as we saw at times with Odell Beckham Jr. If you didn’t? Well, then it made the Jason Garrett Giants offense (ranked 31st in the NFL each of the past two seasons) look passable.” We don't have a WR who can win one-on-one and idk if the thought was that Moore would be able to do it, but route running and separation have never been hallmarks of his game.

Very versatile player. Reggie Bonnafon type vibes. -
I don't understand wanting him out on the perimeter. He can't get open. Person's ideas make significantly more sense.

Panthers trade for wide receiver Laviska Shenault
Untouchable replied to joemac's topic in Carolina Panthers
Not a fan of the player when he came out and I'm not sure what his role would be here, but the compensation is nothing so no complaints. I'm curious what the staff has in mind for him. -
Khalon Tolson and Ra'shan Henry got significant signing bonuses so look for them to most likely push for a roster spot. Hartlaub got a small signing bonus a well.

Walker goes 1 and Trib goes 2, after that I think the draft could get wild.
