what are you talking about the teams sitting at 6 and 7, right now, are potential landing spots if they want a franchise QB they’re going to take one, again, to reiterate, nfl teams don’t undervalue the QB position like many posters here do
-
you have to trade ahead of teams that want QBs themselves, that’s the point my man
-
Williams and Maye will either be the concrete megatalents that people here treat them like they are and they will unequivocally be locked in as the top picks or one will regress to the mean and the anti-qb crowd will no longer want them and suggest we should wait for arch Manning it’s a law of nature
-
idk but I’m kinda ready to hear a trade has been finalized and we’ve moved up
-
it’s not about “making sure we draft a QB” it’s about making sure you get the best possible QB you can

Gantt indicates the Panthers should bring in Carr

Growl replied to TheMaulClaw's topic in Carolina Panthers
Gantt has always been a “Panthers need to know their place, do the safe thing and be happy trying to win 9 games” kind of guy he probably feels the big trade coming and is getting scared this is his form of damage control -
I think they’ll definitely make a run at parris Campbell
-
“save the #9 pick” save it for what? there’s no better value for a top draft selection than to use it on a QB when you’re in need of one.
-
Carr would be a top 3 QB in the conference, the team definitely needs to go get their own guy but if there’s a scenario where they can rent him and still draft a guy it’s worth sticking your toes in the water on Would rather make the big play to move up for their guy but I could understand sticking your nose in, at least if for no other reason than to drive the asking price up for new orleans
-
Carr on a rental with the 9th pick on Richardson is worth inquiring about
-
he’s still coaching, think he worked with Reich last season i just think it’d be entertaining
-
the most you’d be willing to give up for a franchise QB is one mid first rounder and some middle round fluff gonna be a no for me dawg -every potential trade partner
-
go bring back John Fox
-
the eagles scored more points than any super bowl loser ever has and you’ve still got people who are like “defense changed the game! Look at that one play! I want a STUD LINEBACKER!” The game isn’t structured to reward defensive teams or teams that chew clock and pound rocks or whatever other blasé cliche you’re holding onto so tightly there’s one path to sustained success lots of passing, big name free agent acquisitions, blockbuster trades those are the teams playing in the super bowl.
-
drake maye isn’t going to be the QB of the panthers, cope
-
but #1 overall picks still won’t have won a super bowl in X amount of seasons, why bother then? the team needs to move down, stockpile lots of interior linemen, and continue trying to show the nfl that it’s not whether you win or lose, but how you play the game that matters. I wanna see a team less focused on super bowl glory and more focused on trying to prove it can still be done the old way. hopefully we’ll get some rules changes that make the cap more powerful too, tired of seeing all these teams just ignore it, good financial sensibility should trump this “win at all cost” hysteria, this ain’t madden!!
-
he isn’t going to be very good, blimey lol
-
so just to be clear it’s actually a good idea to draft a QB high when “next year” comes but it’s systematically a bad idea now
-
nobody cares
-
nobody is dismayed, we’re just bored of this useless do-nothing take now that we’ve seen how flawed and fruitless the thought process is Panthers aren’t drafting a first round guard, defense doesn’t win championships.
-
Carr would be a plug and play top 3 QB in the conference, it says a lot about their draft plans that they don’t appear to be even considering him
-
it’s remarkable there’s still people trying to resist this
