  1. This is why QBs who can't flex at the combine will still be an NFL championship QB. They need to be prepared to lead those championship drives. Let the other players around you show their combine flex. I'll take a Joe Montana, Joe Theismann, Mark Rypien, Brett Favre, Kurt Warner, Tom Brady, Brad Johnson, Drew Brees, Russell Wilson & Nick Foles in the draft any day & load up on elite defensive or freakish offensive talent in the 1st round instead of wasting it on a 1st round QB. The exception will always be a pro athlete pedigree 1st round QB like the Mannings, Luck, or Mahomes who have been around pro sports as a child & come with elite mentors. Any other 1st round QB is going to come up short in the NFL without being dropped into a ready made SB contender with a 1st round luxury pick. That's how I see it & decades of NFL data continue to prove true.
  2. Josh Allen, Justin Herbert & Lamar Jackson are all the same. They can get you to the finish line but they stumble & lose the race. None are championship clutch. They will all lose their focus when it heats up & they think they need to be the hero.
  3. Josh Allen's going to panic in the clutch & lose track of the situation while going for the big play everytime in every big game.
  4. Kelce & Rice are the reasons why the Chiefs are leading
  5. Good. Bring him & Beane back to Carolina. Beane should have been GM in 2013 & McDermott should have been made HC following the 2016 season. His kryptonite is Andy Reid who will stay in the AFC. He knows how to beat Belichick too.
  6. John Harbaugh is 2-6 against his mentor/teacher Andy Reid. Reid knows how to prepare for his students like McDermott & Harbaugh.
  7. Classic Andy Reid v Sean McDermott Reid knows his defensive pupils & always seems to play them punch for punch to line up a 4 minute game. Then Reid manages the clock better & has a few scripted drives to go to to end the game & exploit his pupils' weaknesses.
  8. James Cook. Dalvin Cook. Would be great to see them on the same team. They may be facing each other next week.
  9. AJ Klein has no hope at covering Travis Kelce in the 2nd half. Rashee Rice is a clutch WR one on one.
  10. Hindsight isn't possible when they're on the board. A few of us pointed out Diggs in 2015 as the sleeper receiver. Landry, Bryant, Henry, Hooper & CMC were known by all here. Conley is good, but not as good as I thought he would be. Kupp was the #6 receiving option in 2017 for me behind CMC, John Ross, Zay Jones, David Njoku & OJ Howard. They were all gone early & Kupp had pedigree like CMC. The point is you keep taking 2 receiving targets per year until you have 5 good ones. There is no luxury to trade up for a Funchess. Davante Adams, Tyreek Hill & Tyler Lockett would be hindsight GM.
  11. The year was 2017. My boards told us to draft Jarvis Landry (2014) & Martavis Bryant (2014) instead of Kelvin Benjamin & Kony Ealy. Chris Conley (2015), Stefon Diggs (2015) & Josh Robinson (2015) instead of using 3 picks on Funchess. Hunter Henry (2016) & Austin Hooper (Hooper) instead of Vernon Davis. CMC (2017) & Cooper Kupp (2017) over Curtis Samuel. I was always looking to get 2 receiving threats for Cam every year until he had 5 good playmaking/route running/good hands targets to get 85% of the targets like Greg Olsen & Steve Smith. Big targets like Benjamin & Funchess were never the answer. Would have been CMC, Stefon Diggs, Jarvis Landry, Cooper Kupp, Greg Olsen & Hunter Henry in 2017 if I had my way. Jonathan Stewart, Chris Conley, Martavis Bryant & Austin Hooper would have found themselves sharing 10% of the targets in 2017.
  12. Hurney protected Cam with Jordan Gross, Travelle Wharton, Ryan Kalil, Geoff Hangartner & Jeff Otah in year 1. Bell was a rookie backup in 2011 who was forced to start due to Otah not being able to stay healthy. Hurney had an OL in place to build from, but he was fired a year and a half into what turned out to be a foundation for a SB roster because it went 1-4 to open the season. Hurney expected Beane to replace him, but that's when it all went off the rails & we rode out 4 seasons of roster building mediocrity on the back of Hurney's team. That mediocrity led to Tepper, Rhule & Fitterer as the final wrecking ball.
  13. Careers are short in the pro game. You don't get past 5 seasons as a starter playing like that in the clutch moments of a game. Reality. Not many chances in the NFL. Can never have your QB do that if you want to win a championship. That's why Purdy is the QB & not Jimmy G or Sam Darnold.
  14. A QB who makes a reactionary decision like that in a clutch moment is never going to win a championship
  15. Wilks & CMC are pieces to a championship team. Tossed out the wrong ones.
  16. CMC, Conley & Purdy on that drive... wanted to draft all of them as Panthers. We had 1 of them.
  17. Receiver didn't know which route to run. He would have been open.
  18. Its LaFleur & Stenavich. They come from the offensive philosophy of Shannahan & McVay. Rooted in Bill Walsh. It's all footwork & timing. Receivers are choreographed to break into a defense's openings based on film & tendencies. Up to the QB to hit that back foot & hitch while trusting the receiver will be open at the exact time the coach has designed it. This is why QBs like Montana, Gannon & Cousins replace DeBerg, George & Griffin.
