  1. This is interesting in the same way as when you throw up and think, 'what the hell did I eat'. Did Marty really screw us over one last time by delaying our rebuild by a year?
  2. Valid point but Jets and Dolphins also have to be willing to trade those additional assets. It seems Tepper is willing. Jets and Dolphins both have young QBs with unknown potential, they may not be willing to give up more or even as much as the Panthers are. Just because they have assets doesn't mean they'll use them for Watson.
  3. Look back at the number one picks over the last 30 years I don't think it 'is the case' but I've wondered if it could be. It's not an exact science by any means.
  4. I don't think it's meant to be 2003 vs 2015 as the thread title suggests. It's just those defenses mixed with those specific players.
  5. Top. 2003 defense was better, Cam is better, Smitty is better, JStew is adequate.
  6. Take it easy. You can't be logical with some folks. They only understand crazy.
  7. NFL and NBA are so different. Lebron only needs to figure out what 1 or 2 other guys he wants or needs and add in some role players and the NBA has a soft cap, so GMs have more flexibility to make it work. An NFL team is so big and complex. I don't see anything wrong with top players having input. Daniel Jeremiah put it well yesterday, I thought. He said getting feedback from someone like Russell Wilson saying, 'I need more mature guys in the locker room' or 'this particular guy is not cutting it because he can't learn his assignments' is invaluable. Letting him sit in the draft room would be a mistake. The problem is talent evaluation is so hard. It's not like the Seahawks don't try to improve the o-line. They've even made trades but guys don't pan out or get hurt or you don't have the cap space when Andrew Whitworth becomes available (fugging Matt Kahlil). They should have input but just be careful how much.
  8. That's like 4x Walker and Grier combined per year.
  9. Place your bets. Panthers have the 23 best odds. https://sports.yahoo.com/super-bowl-2022-odds-rams-make-big-move-after-matthew-stafford-trade-chiefs-still-favored-over-bucs-185849421.html
  10. Yessss! Pietro! The fugggg? Can't wait until next Friday!
  11. Come on Mr. Scott, don't feed the Tartrolls.
  12. Sausage wontons. Sausage, cream cheese, sauteed onion in a wonton wrapper with sweet and sour sauce for dipping. Every Super Bowl since 2000.
  13. I've thought about that also. Maybe after the 3rd we take another.
  14. The NBA does not have a hard cap like the NFL. No trading for Bird rights or using mid level exemptions.
  15. I'd want the Panthers because I'd like being close to home. If it was just about winning now, it would be San Francisco. That said, there are no guarantees so the Team would have to sell me on their plan.
  16. Another thought on this. He has a no trade clause so he has to okay the team he's going to. If being included in the hiring process for the GM and the Coach was the crux of this (technically them not staying true to their word about it), is he going to want some type of assurances of involvement in similar business decisions for his new team? If so, are Rhule, Fitterer and Tepper going to pony up for that?
  17. As far as him opting out, I think I read somewhere it had to do with a family situation. Sick grandmother, maybe.
  18. Interesting comments on the dline coach. Just wasn't a fit.
