I actually think he’s going to be a good player for a long time but again it’s a positional value thing. He’s in year 3 so if everything goes according to plan and we get our rookie QB, Brown will need a new contract in what will be our rookie QB’s 3rd season. I just think the money could be spent better than on a DT. Again, I am not giving Derrick Brown away. Someone would have to offer real value. I like Brown.

Yep which is what I’ve been trying to say. We also have a ton of space the following year and still have our “core” locked up which includes 4/5 starters on the OL I know you don’t like hearing it but getting the first overall pick so we can land our QB combined with the pieces we have locked up gives us a real shot at turning this thing around FAST. I’m not having a fire sale but if someone offers something of real value for CMC I’m trading him and the same goes for Derrick Brown

Yep I’m not just trading CMC to trade him. A team needs to send something of value to make absorbing that dead cap hit worth it. CMC is 26 year old superstar when healthy. We have a ton of space in 2024. We’ll have 10 mill carry over from this season. Shaq and Anderson will be gone. Burns will be extended (lowering his cap hit) or traded But for the life of me I can’t understand why they paid Donte Jackson. That 14 mill cap next season stings. I stopped betting on teams last year. Well minus taking Cleveland and AZ when they played us. The whole partnering up with gambling and the fact so many of these games are one possession games in the 4th quarter these days just seems fishy.
