  1. I look at him and don't know. Rhule had a way of taking guys and bringing them down a level. Look at Chinn. DROY should have been, then moved to FS and kept there when he plays much better closer to the line. BC learning to play every position on the line when he was the best LT we had pre-Ickey. Chuba being the pass catching back with hands of stone. Things that just made no sense at all. I don't know if will be a stud or if he could be another Moose. It's just sad we have no idea of a lot of guys' capabilities because Rhule had no idea what it meant to actually be a coach.
  2. Free tubes of soy bean paste to whoever pass blocks the best this week!!
  3. Also, depending how his contract was written, he may have needed to approve which team he was traded to. I don't know if there was or wasn't, but it wouldn't surprise me if that was a clause in it.
  4. Are we sure he was willing to go to the Rams? He may have only been willing to go to the 9ers considering his connections there.
  5. Burrow definitely has the advantage with 2 WR1s. Higgins and Chase have both been making catches that Buffalo receivers just haven't.
  6. Poyer went down like he got knocked out cold. That is a seriously scary collision.
  7. Surprising how much their line is able to abuse Buffalo. Losing Von has hurt this defense a lot
  8. Cinci guys are making plays, Buffalo guys aren't. Gabe Davis dropped that pass. That's the difference in this game.
  9. He got pushed down and into Burrow. It wasn't a target.
  10. He'd have to be because we won't have the assets to get much else.
  11. If we manage to hire a coach worse than Rhule I will be forced to hang up my Panthers Fandom to begin my new job shaving badgers with dull razors.
  12. I don't know man. It's hard to imagine heading into another season with the same level of incompetence that we had with Rhay-Z.
  13. The days of 9-10 games are over for the most part unless your offense sucks. Rules are heavily skewed to favor the offense. The most successful backs, with the exception of Henry, are now part of the passing game. The game has changed. Finding a guy who is trying to use that to his advantage is better than finding one who is trying to stop it.
  14. Tampa Bay finished 8-9, was a playoff team, and got embarrassed. Getting to the playoffs doesn't mean you're actually good. And we had an opportunity to go to the playoffs. We had to beat TB and Pitts and we looked like we hadn't even practiced. We beat the teams weak against the run and had no offensive game plan for the teams that were.
  15. San Fran. On their 3rd string QB this year and he's playing like a seasoned veteran QB and has won them a playoff game. He has a HC that knows what his strengths and weaknesses are and has designed a game plan around that. You think he'd be playing like that under Wilks?
  16. Did I say air it out? No I didn't. You don't have to air it out all the time, but you do have to pass and there are lots of coordinators designing game plans to get guys open. Designing a game plan that centers around what your opponent is best at defending is not one of the qualities I'm looking for. You can say that's all McAdoo if you want, but making sure your game plan is built to exploit your opponents weaknesses is pretty much HC 101 in my book. The rest is Fox/Rivera style football. You want Wilks. That's your prerogative. I want an offense oriented guy that is creative and ultimately already does what the NFL is trending towards, which is offense. That's my prerogative.
  17. If better than Rhule was determining factor for getting this job, half the huddle would be qualified to interview.
  18. Our biggest problem when we had Cam wasn't the QB, it was the coach. Having a good QB doesn't mean squat if you don't have a coach and OC that know how to use them. You need creativity and innovation, especially in the offense driven NFL now. That's not most defensive coaches, Wilks included. He showed us he was who he was, ground and pound. Conservative football. Beat the other guy doing what we do. Except when that doesn't work, there's nothing else to fall back on. It's time to get in the flow with the way the NFL is going. Rules are stacked against the defense. It's time to change and head away from what hasn't worked.
  19. I'm one of them that will. I have the same feeling about SP being part of this franchise as I do Watson.
  20. Rhule wasn't only bad, he was completely incompetent. The team wasn't competitive. We were outmatched, mainly in the coaching box. This team looked like a high school team playing against Bama. The game plan and play calling weren't even close to NFL caliber. Our first 3 wins of the season were against a rookie QB playing his first NFL game which we won, barely. A NO team missing half the coaching staff out with Covid, and a Texans team starting a 3rd round rookie QB. We beat the Falcons and Arizona, and went on to lose, badly. We got blown out against the Giants and they ended up drafting ahead of us. Then there's the whole off the field BS trying to turn this franchise into his Baylor/NFL love child. It was just awful. Nothing he did showed he had any ability to generate wins. In fact, everything he was doing showed quite the opposite. Then we hit the offseason and everything those of us knew would happen did happen. If fans can recognize that level of incompetence, an owner damn should be able to see it.
  21. Still a fan of the Panthers football team, but I won't go to a game, watch a game, buy a piece of memorabilia, a jersey, anything. I know the NFL is a violent game, injuries happen. But paying your guys to intentionally end someone's career and end their livelihood? Sorry. Not going to have any support for that type of bullshit. Might as well be one of the fans cheering when Cam was getting smashed in the head.
  22. Not defending Hackett as a HC at all, but damn if he wasn't behind the 8 ball with RW imploding at QB.
