There are some who think he could play in Atlanta into his 40s and the idea of them taking a QB is ludicrous. I’m just suggesting that they might be doing more than the Hurney plan and looking beyond this year.

Doesn't really sound like Ryan is in their 5 year plan. A QB at 4 could happen.

First time in NFL history when more than a dozen teams are looking for the answer at QB too. Just because it hasn't happened before doesn't mean it can't happen now.

If the Dolphins are receiving calls for 3, then people have to accept the possibility all 4 QBs could be gone by 8. If a team does trade up into 3, it's going to be for a QB. TL and Wilson will likely go 1,2, leaving 5 spots with multiple teams looking to trade. Whether the price is right or not remains to be seen, but the possibility is definitely there.

If we choose not to have a receiving tight end then it's one less dimension we can have on our offense. TE will always be in to block. Might as well just have a 6th Olineman.

As was stated in the other thread, a tag and trade of Moton for Brown would be a good move since we could draft a natural right tackle. The hardest part would be the 5yr\95m contract they signed Stanley too. That’s a lot of money in 2 tackles but they would be set at the ends.

Hurney always loved linebackers.

Quality content would mean that basic writing skills were used to make it even somewhat legible.

I’m not saying he didn’t. But he realized the value of contracts and how far an extra 20-30m a season could go to building a team around him. He could have that big NFL contract and be the highest paid QB in the NFL with 2 or 3 rings, or he could take a lesser contract, build a better team around him, and become the GOAT. Now how bad does it look for the Patriots to be paying for nutritional and treatment advice from a guy that just keeps winning. It was a good business plan because it worked. Right now, there aren’t any other players playing that level of game in the NFL.

I’m not forgetting it at all. But not having 150m extra in writing is a whole lot of trust. Again, he was thinking big picture.

I’m curious what solid offer means though. Stafford has been more successful for longer in terms of production. And in reality, the Lions accepted what could reasonably be expected to be 2 very late 1st round picks and part of it was to take Goffs contract. I just don’t think he warrants a 1st. I’m not saying they won’t get it, I just don’t think he warrants it. And I hope it’s not a 1st from us.

Let’s also not forget his success has built a brand. His endorsement deals and TB12 brand have more than made up for what he’s given up in his contracts. He’s always been a big picture guy.

They aren’t going to get 2 1sts for Wentz. He has not looked remotely like himself before injury. They may be trying to fluff interest to try and get a better offer but teams arent so desperate they will give away the future for seriously damaged goods. I think in the end they may get a 3rd, maybe a 2nd for Wentz but not much more. The contract and his performance just don’t warrant it.

But the question is always when is that going to be? Sometimes on, sometimes off. No consistency at all.

Dont forget the huge advantage of being home for the 2 weeks prior to the SB and true home field advantage.

I think in order to renegotiate a contract and have that salary cap figure count, a player should have to be on the active roster the following season.
