  1. I'm not saying anything is set in stone. I'm speculating, same as everyone else. Maybe, maybe not. It all depends on what teams are willing to give up.
  2. I don't think the Bears want 9, I think they want 4. If they can get Houston to trade up to 1, then move from 2 to 4, they get picks they desperately need and still end up with 1 of the top 2 defensive players in the draft. They could very well be using our interest to get Houston and Indy seriously into the game.
  3. I think it all depends on our confidence level in the evaluations and interviews of "our guy." If we're completely confident in his athletic and mental abilities, go get him. But don't be backpedaling if it goes wrong.
  4. I Carr could be good with a different coach. Dennis Allen brings him down a level IMO. Just like Rhule brought down everyone who played under him. He couldn't overcome his coaching once. I don't think he does it now.
  5. I've answered you at least 10 times and you don't get it. You'll never get it. You're Daniel Stern in City Slickers trying to program a VCR.
  6. We can covet Carr and still not be up to that level of contract. I think the Saints overpaid. That typically happens early. I'd be more concerned how they're going to build around him with where that leaves them with cap space, I know it's imaginary, and draft picks. I suspect if they hit on their picks well, they'll be laughing all the way to the NFCS title for several years. If not, that'll be a different story.
  7. And that's fine. Our plan A money could have been 140m with only 50 guaranteed. It all depends on how you build around plan A. If it was Andy Reid signing him, I'd be worried. But it's Dennis Allen which brings him down in play level, IMO.
  8. Carr wanted, and got, more than the Panthers were willing to pay. It always happens in FA. Nothing new.
  9. You've asked this and been answered so many times it's ridiculous. It's just never the answer you want.
  10. I'll open another one just to watch your head explode.
  11. Way more than I wanted to spend on him. Daniel Jones has to be licking his chops right now.
  12. Just looked it up and he's only been there since January of 22. Could make sense to sell the 1 this year and then load up for next year. He doesn't have any ties to Fields really and I think it could be sold to the owner that doing this could be short term pain for long term gain. If Fields turns the corner and becomes a franchise QB, they have their guy. If not, move on, draft the next one. The more I think about it, the more I think it's what I would do if I were in his position.
  13. Plus he's not really a part of the receiving game, though it has happened in spurts. With the multifaceted RBs coming out of college, being able to be part of the passing game is essential for these older backs. It's one reason I'm not a huge fan of Chuba. Dude has hands of stone.
  14. Not a position I would want to be in if I didn't have 100% confidence in Fields. If I didn't, I'd be looking to QB at 1, even though I'm trying to sell that position. Hell, another offer could come in for Fields and he could come out smelling like a rose getting picks AND a QB he wants. But you can't sell that 1 for as much if other teams know Fields may not be your guy.
  15. I don't hate Lamar. I think it's highly possible he's made some very questionable decisions. If you factor in his injury history, and I think you have to, would you be willing to pay him 50m or more per season, knowing you may very well need a Brissett type backup at another 10-15m just to finish out the year and possible playoff run? I don't give 2 shits if Tepper is licking his chops. If Tepper is picking our QB again (Watson), we might as well bring Matt fuging Rhule back.
  16. Oh I get it. It's also a bad look to the new drafted QB if they move on from Fields after 2 years considering what he's been given to work with. Stroud has already said he doesn't want to go to Chicago because of Fields. Poles is trying to maximize his take to see if Fields turns the corner this offseason. If he does, he's loaded with picks. If he doesn't, he's still loaded with picks and a very good chance to land a top QB in what many are saying is potentially a better class. Win-win IF Poles keeps his job.
  17. If it goes poorly for them again this year with Fields, they're likely sitting in one of the top 2 spots with a plethora of picks to surround their new QB with offensive line talent and a couple new receiving weapons to boot.
  18. I can't believe I'm saying it but looking at what it's going to cost to go to 1, I wish we had let Rhule finish the season. We may not have gotten 1, but very well could have ended up at 2 or 3.
  19. He's a good QB with ball security issues that has proven repeatedly he can take a team down the field in the 4th quarter and win it. His defense in Vegas blew almost his entire time there. He's not a Mahomes, Hurts, or Burrow, but put enough offensive weapons around him and I think he can get it done. Hell, T2G had 4k yards passing because his WRs went off after the catch.
  20. Henry is also 29. That's RB 30 wall is right around the corner. No need to pay big money for that.
  21. Mahomes earned about 20m in endorsement deals in 2022. That number is going to go up. Winning gets you paid off the field too, making it easier to take a lower salary because you still end up in the same spot.
  22. Yeah. Henry is the RB version of a rental car thrown into reverse at 50mph just to see what happens.
  23. The only thing about blowing it up is the entire NFCS is blown up right now. They could blow it all to hell and still win the division and still fug themselves. This is much more entertaining.
