I watched Shaq like a hawk for a while in that practice and to me he looked extremely good in the individual drills. His movements were on par with TD and Luke's. Rivera was running one of the drills and I saw him pat Shaq on the helmet a few times, and no one else. Not sure if that means much. On the other hand though Rivera did stop the drill once to yell at Shaq. Couldn't tell what he did wrong there. Didn't notice him as much in team drills. His athleticism definitely is as elite as was advertised.

Norwell didn't have a "realistic" shot to become a starter last year and neither did Remmers. Neither of these new guys are any different from those two when they were added. I doubt either ends up being a starter like Norwell and Remmers are but to say they're just "camp bodies" is ridiculous. They'll compete.
-
So? Norwell came in to camp as a body trying to make the roster. He showed he could play, made the team and proceeded to become our starter of the future. These guys are coming in as bodies and will be given an opportunity to show they can play. "Camp body" implies that they have no chance at making the roster. There's really no such thing as a "camp body" but people use the word. Everybody is competing and everybody has a shot.

Now that Martin has retired, will Gettleman sign a free agent OT?

Collins would be a solid swing tackle and backup for us. You really don't see him being a gain over Wallace and Foucalt at backup LT? There would be no harm at all, he wouldn't get much more than the min. He was arguably the best swing tackle in the league with the Bengals. Yeah he was truly truly terrible with the Bucs. But the rest of his work as a backup outweighs his one poor year as a starter. He's more fit to be a backup. -
Just trying to tone down getting into heated arguments when others have a different opinion than me. It's happened a lot before and turned into personal arguments and it never goes anywhere with legitimate football discussion. I understand what you're saying and of course I have some amount of homerism, but I still stand by what I said. Cam played great considering what he had to work with against an all-time good defense, especially when compared with how Rodgers played and how Peyton played last year. The Brady comparison may be a stretch because he had a good game and I made it clear that I didn't think Cam played way better than him, but I do believe an argument could be made that Cam played better in the divisional game than Brady did in the Super Bowl when you consider every single factor. It's just 2 games though, I'm not saying Cam's better than Brady or anything like that. Every QB has great games and bad games. I just like how our future looks with how well Cam played against such a great D. That game was lost by our defense, not our offense when everybody thought it would be our lack of scoring that would lose us the Seattle game.

We have different opinions. No need to take this further like you're trying to do.

Thank you for providing your point of view, I truly appreciate it.

Of course he wasn't perfect and that INT was bad, but Brenton fuging Bersin was the #1 option on that play and he tripped running his route. He tried to do too much and force it Dickson when he should've thrown it away or taken a sack, but we never should've put him in that position to begin with. And even with that pick, compare his game to Manning's in the SB, Rodgers' in the NFC Championship Game and Brady's in the SB and take a look at the receivers and o-line and offensive coordinators on each team... And Cam and Rodgers were in Seattle while Brady and Manning were neutral, and there is a difference. Cam playing better than Brady did may seem questionable on the surface but think about it. Cam played against a healthy secondary in Seattle, with our mediocre WR group (Philly hurt) and our poor o-line and Shula while Brady played with his large amount of weapons and above average line and a superior coaching staff, at a neutral field and against a secondary with Sherman and Thomas hurt and Lane out of the game. All Brady did was dink and dunk and let his players get all those yards for him, and that's why he had so many completions and a high %. His yards/attempt was terrible. Alex Smith could've played just as well as Brady did that game considering all the other factors.
-
And Cam was fuging amazing. Played significantly better against them than Rodgers, Peyton, and maybe even Brady despite having terrible WR and o-line compared to those QBs.
-
Philly played great against their secondary that game, despite being hurt.

I really can't believe people are getting worked up over us not signed Ace fuging Sanders. Then again, it is the Huddle... We have a lot of competition at WR as it is and players we cut will likely make another team's roster. Not very likely that we sign any more wideouts unless there are injuries at camp or a player shows he just doesn't belong (Boykin... still not sure why we bothered signing him, but no harm), and extremely unlikely that any available would be better than what we have. Sanders would not be able to compete for our 5-6 spots on the roster, considering what we already have. He's just not good. And as Mr Scot said, not a single team has found him to be worthy of a spot on a training camp roster...

Hmm... I've tried those sound generators before and they never worked for me. At my house I'll either throw a record on the changer or put on a random tv show and set the sleep timer for 30 minutes, depending on the day.
-
I can't fall asleep when it's completely silent. Has to be some kind of background noise--television, music, radio, people talking in another room, etc. (usually tv or music).
-
What's a joke about that? That Winston is better?
-
Sanders could compete for a 6th spot here, but we've already got tight competition as it is so I don't see why we would go after him.

Just a little over two weeks until I report to training camp for the first 4 days. Can't wait.

What aspect of the game of football does the name of a team have to do with? This isn't a football discussion, it's a politics discussion. Which is fine, but why it should be in the tinderbox. I don't really care if it stays here, there's nothing else going on, but it does belong in the tinderbox with all the other related discussions.
-
Move to tinderbox. Has nothing to do with the game of football.

Could you imagine if Cam had Julio Jones, Tony Gonzalez, and Roddy White as his top 3, and their line instead of ours? 1. Brees 2. Cam 3. Ryan 4. Winston College game doesn't automatically translate to the NFL. And he has had a lot of issues on the field other than interceptions, and could continue to have those issues.

holy poo there is no way he actually said that. is it real? what a fuging insane self-righteous lunatic motherfuger. I hope he winds up on the browns making $30M/year or whatever it is he thinks he's worth and fades back into nothing without all that talent around.
