  1. Of course the best case is he balls out. I think the worst case scenario is that he lights it up for a year signs a huge contract and then shitzthebed for years. The most likely scenario is that at the end of the season the team has 7ish wins and it's not apparent if he is or isn't the future. The fun part will be seeing all the arguments about whether or not he is. There will be a contingent on here that even if he tosses 3 INTs/game will find an excuse. Just like there will be a group that despite winning the division and Fields under performing will still grouse about passing him in the draft. The future is bright if for nothing else all the bickering about a game none of us have any control over.
  2. I think you are 100% correct. It is, what's the word, oh yeah, fluid.
  3. At any rate we will find out over the next few days/months/years just what they see BC as.
  4. I agree. I only disagree that some act like that is how he starts every presser. He said it one time. Onetime strongly but not repeatedly.
  5. Those are the same quotes and yes he did say that. I'm not saying that he will be a LT or RT or G or whatever. I'm just suggesting that the perception of Matt Rhule saying that "repeatedly" may be more of a result of that one quote getting repeated ad infinitum on here.
  6. Has Rhule actually done that? Or did he say it once and it has been repeated endlessly here as if it were gospel? But I agree that if we have long term answers at OT in Moton and BC, regardless of L vs R, then we are way ahead.
  7. Got to agree with pay Moton. Curtis may well turn into a dynamic player but the Panthers have to solidify the O line. This signing was a huge first step in that direction.
  8. As said by many, not at that asking price and not until legal situation is known... and probably still not then.
  9. The QB search would be exactly where it is today. Hoping that the QB just taken will be THE ONE and not a bust. Until THE ONE is on the team it will always be this way.
  10. Yes Rhule said BC was Rt or G... And that is the offseason coach speak that has been latched on to like it was etched in stone and then written in blood. (Sorry, couldn't decide on which idiom to use.) It would not be the first time a coach just said some bs. I don't think he starts the season at LT or is even the backup LT. But I would not be surprised if he moves into that spot next year.
  11. I fell like a reverse Weinke is not something I want to do a search on.
  12. Do you think the same holds true for the Jets org and fans? Do they see a win as necessary to validate giving up on and trading Sam? Probably not to the degree that the Panthers do but I would imagine there will be a vocal "SEE!!! I TOLD YOU WE SHOULD HAVE KEPT SAM!!!" contingency if they lose.
  13. Following that train does that make Robbie and that bear Dorothy & Toto?
  14. He is 31 and started 16 games both of the last 2 seasons. In fact, he has started 16 games a season since he was drafted in 2015 except for 2018 when he only started 9 when he was injured. That is 89 starts in 6 years. True, he was not fully healthy his first year as a Panther and it showed but he started every game. He was healthier and greatly improved, yes I said greatly, last year.
  15. Potential to be the worst move? Yes it does. Potential to be the best? Again, yes it does. I don't think it is a slam dunk bad move at this point. Let's wait till he throws his first INT or TD to make that call.
  16. The starting jobs are won during camp and preseason. So yes if any of the rooks looks more talented they will start. But once the staff has settled on the starting 5 it is very hard for anyone to break into the lineup without a starter plain sucking or getting injured. Second string just doesn't get the chance to work with the starters during the week. You are keeping your original 5 in to build cohesion and chemistry.
