  1. Or he just calls up a hooker or two for a celebratory massage and well, that's all she wrote for his career. The only thing dumber than Deshaun Watson is trading for him. Let him go to Las Vegas where the hookers are legal.
  2. I think Breer's got about as much info on what is happening in Carolina as do most big time sports writers -- not much at all. And as to what's going to happen, he's in the same boat as you and me. He obviously had much better connections into the other teams on his list. We're an enigma of a terrible team and paying out a monstrous contract versus the promise that things will improve mightily in year three.
  3. The New York Times did so much to kill small town newspapers throughout the 1990s and early 2000s. They bought up small newspapers left and right, getting all of them within a region, consolidating staffs, eliminating presses and "streamlining" things until they had wrung the life out of it. Other big newspapers followed their path and ran into major troubles. The Boston Herald went under because of their overspending in this with little return. The big papers just never got what made those small town newspapers work and it shows. They've turned all of them into little cookie cutters of boredom. So, I guess now they're going to set about buying virtual magazines, too. Amalgamation just sucks.
  4. Oh, there's the stats. Just like I expected. Our much vaunted defense gets a lot of mileage out of those first three games. They've sucked almost as much as the offense since then, sometimes worse.
  5. Imagine how bad we'd look if we removed those first three games from the ratings...
  6. The defense is soft. It has been all year, we just played some even softer, or more injured, teams early on. And we've played a few stinkeroo teams along the way as well. But that's a soft bunch. Not as soft as our offense, but still mushy. And Fangio? I always think a HC that just lost their position needs to take a full year before diving back in. They need some time for reflection, introspection and innovation. They can learn a lot from their failures, but they need time to process it.
  7. Bunch of morons sitting around praising themselves for being smart.
  8. Deep down, I think he's out of here on Monday. It'll be done and we'll move on from this sorry chapter.
  9. In a dark, dark room, even a wee candle sheds light and hope.
  10. But there may certainly be a very similar level of hubris between the two.
  11. Good listen. Don't want him as our coach, but he does know the business and understands what is required at this level. Surrounding himself with a bunch of assistants and coaches who don't have experience at the pro level probably spelled doom for Rhule as much as anything. He brought along his own echo chamber. That's never a good thing.
  12. And here we are on another day. Another chance for Tepper to call Rhule into his office for lunch and a pink slip. Let's not waste another one of these opportunities!
  13. Who knows if he's any good at all? It's not like he had much time on the field, or plays that could get him the ball. We were too busy running plays in an attempt to get DJ and CMC killed and making sure that we had plenty of opportunities for Sideshow Rob Anderson to drop balls. Woof, this was a bad, bad season.
  14. This team, under Rhule's direction and Tepper's ownership, has become a dog poo smeared tennis shoe. No one wants to wear it. No one thinks the ones who did it can possibly clean it up. No one wants to admit it, but it might be time to just chuck the shoe and get some new ones.
  15. And it really could explain a lot of things.
  16. Greatly depends on who is doing that building. Current guys simply are unable to build an offensive line. They can get QBs killed, though. So Pickett at 5 and a Rhule/Fitterer line means we're the Cleveland Browns from 2000-2018. Yippee. Just sending lambs to the slaughter.
  17. Well, there went another lunch hour in Charlotte, NC without Rhule being called into Tepper's presence for the presenting of the pink slip. I'm telling you, these opportunities can't keep being wasted.
  18. We just need to go out there and play to our level of coaching. Heck, if we try really, really hard, we could make two losses out of this game. (If only the rules allowed it).
  19. Man, it's a real toss of the dice with Harbaugh. Maybe he's learned an awful lot and could bring this team back around. Or, he could be the same guy and actually be completely unable to motivate and repair this team. I'm not sure I'm ready for a make or break kind of hire at this time. This last roll of the dice didn't come out well.
