  1. I'm going to trust the coaching staff on this one and also realize that who is placed where on the depth chart on May 6 doesn't matter in the least.
  2. We'll see this coming season, I guess. We were all laughing at the Niners when Lance went down and they had to eat crow and get Jimmy G back out there. And he did pretty well and then he got injured. Then we wrote the team off when Jimmy G got injured and they sent in the very last pick of last year's draft -- talk about an unsung, unknown rookie. And the guy was right there in the NFC Championship after kicking butt for the rest of the season. And then he got hurt... Yeah, I think I'm going to not poopoo on the Niners QB situation until I actually see them lose quite a few games in a row. There's something pretty incredible happening there and if they can reclaim Sam Darnold and turn him into what people had hoped he'd be... my hat's off to them and to him. The kid has had nothing but terrible, way beyond bad, coaching through his career.
  3. He's solid, if nothing else and that can be worth a lot of money in the NFL. I'm just wondering how the shift to a 3-4 defense is going to affect him. Will we try and use him as a nose tackle or move him to one of the hands in the dirt ends? If at end, which side and which OLB will be generally working with him. How will he take to the new DC's approach? Can he take on new concepts and a totally different role from the one he had in the Snowjob powderpuff defense? We aren't going to know until the second or third game in September. I will say that the young man has held a starting spot on an NFL team and he's done that while we brought in both vets and new guys who would love to have that role. He's put in the work, he's garnered attention from other teams in the league and we really have no idea how much other teams we've played have had to scheme to keep him off of their QBs and out of the rushing lanes. I hope he can blossom in the new set up. There's something about him that makes me think we haven't seen his best stuff yet.
  4. Show me don't tell me. This season has a lot to prove yet, right now it's just all on paper with warm, fuzzy vibes. That first real game in September is when we will begin to know and we should have a real feel by the end of October. Until then... it's all just words on the wind. A lot of folks fell for the Rhule hire from the get go, too. Show me something in the wins column and the playoffs. Then we can start saying he's learned his lessons.
  5. Heck yeah, fifth rounder... no reason to hold out, but plenty of reasons to sign and get to working on your spot. Good luck to him!
  6. Hehe, he probably could. Still sad we let him go, but it's probably best for him (and our cap space).
  7. Geez man, what did Matt Corral do to you?
  8. Sometimes coaches just need to refresh and be refreshed. I can only imagine how much of a drag that organization has been on its employees over the years. And that Washington O-line was becoming a lot like ours became.
  9. He wound up in a better situation than probably most of the QBs drafted ahead of him. Sometimes falling in the draft takes you way past the bad teams. Imagine if Aaron Rodgers had started his career at the Jets instead of ending it there? Or Tom Brady had started out in Detroit? Good luck to him.
  10. Craziest thought... just in case Bryce does prove to be too small for the NFL (I think he's going to be great) the Panthers could just grab Will Levis or Hendon Hooker in the second. If Bryce stays healthy then that back-up QB has had the advantage of Reich, McCown, Dalton and a year of study before the draft next year... could trade him back to some team in need. Crazy stupid idea...
  11. I just remember the optimism expressed during the Rhule hire. Let's not start taking the victory lap while we are still in the consolation prize group. When we pick 27th -- 32nd in the draft for three years running, now we're talking...
  12. Let's see how this all works out before we get the crown out again.
  13. I feel bad for him. He'll get snagged today and will probably start at some point this year. It might be a big character building exercise for him that pays off during his career.
  14. Pretty hard to be made with $185 million guaranteed...
  15. They probably wish they could have this year. I think he's worn out his welcome there.
  16. Okay, let's make those final predictions for the Carolina Panthers 2023 draft. Who do you think we'll be taking? First Round: Pick 1: Bryce Young, QB Alabama Second Round: Pick 39 Mazi Smith, DT Michigan Third Round: Pick 93 Brenton Strange, TE, Penn State Fourth Round: Pick 114 Byron Young, Edge, Tennessee Fourth Round: Pick 132 AT Perry, WR, Wake Forest Fifth Round: Pick 145 Dorian Williams, LB, Tulane Honestly, though, I can see us trying to trade back into the second round.
  17. Reminds me of the old days when the NFCSouth had four great QBs competing and a new division winner each season. It was crazy but never ever boring.
  18. 36 more hours and we can put this part of it behind us. Speculation and the constant picking of the unknown scab will be replaced by actually grounded complaining and whining. It's all going to be okay.
  19. Both teams could end up taking a nose dive after this.
  20. Let's see for 2022 they posted $28.31 billion in gross profits, an increase of 27 percent over 2021, which was a tough year for everyone. But even during the pandemic shut down year of 2021, they still posted more than $22 billion in gross profits, a 3.6 percent increase from the previous year. 2020 did see a decline from 2019's gross profits dropping 21.92 percent, but still posting in$21.5 billion in gross profits for the year. Not sure where you think there are some poor decisions they've been making. Heck, we should all be having such terrible luck.
