But there may certainly be a very similar level of hubris between the two.

Good listen. Don't want him as our coach, but he does know the business and understands what is required at this level. Surrounding himself with a bunch of assistants and coaches who don't have experience at the pro level probably spelled doom for Rhule as much as anything. He brought along his own echo chamber. That's never a good thing.
-
And here we are on another day. Another chance for Tepper to call Rhule into his office for lunch and a pink slip. Let's not waste another one of these opportunities!
-
Who knows if he's any good at all? It's not like he had much time on the field, or plays that could get him the ball. We were too busy running plays in an attempt to get DJ and CMC killed and making sure that we had plenty of opportunities for Sideshow Rob Anderson to drop balls. Woof, this was a bad, bad season.

"FIRE RHULE" CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP

Even that crowd is done with Rhule. -
And it really could explain a lot of things.

Greatly depends on who is doing that building. Current guys simply are unable to build an offensive line. They can get QBs killed, though. So Pickett at 5 and a Rhule/Fitterer line means we're the Cleveland Browns from 2000-2018. Yippee. Just sending lambs to the slaughter.
-
Well, there went another lunch hour in Charlotte, NC without Rhule being called into Tepper's presence for the presenting of the pink slip. I'm telling you, these opportunities can't keep being wasted.

Report: Harbaugh might be tempted to go back to NFL
Khyber53 replied to SuperBowlBound's topic in Carolina Panthers
Man, it's a real toss of the dice with Harbaugh. Maybe he's learned an awful lot and could bring this team back around. Or, he could be the same guy and actually be completely unable to motivate and repair this team. I'm not sure I'm ready for a make or break kind of hire at this time. This last roll of the dice didn't come out well. -
It just shows that Adam Gase is every bit as good of an NFL coach as Matt Rhule.
-
Honestly, did we have a choice. I mean, he bought the team using a crap ton of money. It wasn't like he interviewed with us, promised us a turnaround and that he'd bring in his own expert team.

Shocking passing statistics for the 2021 Panthers.
Khyber53 replied to SCO96's topic in Carolina Panthers
It's not just the poor offensive line. Joe Burrows has been working with arguably more pressure and yet the Bengals are winning their division. It's about scheme and ability -- both for the QB and receivers. We have no scheme. Or at least one that isn't easily foiled by any non-mid conference college coach's game plan. The o-line sucks, but we have coaching that can't work around it. -
And, honestly, New Orleans' defense wasn't really all that great yesterday. We are just that bad. Period.

Truer words cannot be said on this.

Not everyone with issues has CTE. Whatever the cause, the guy needs help, professional help.

Sam Darnold can’t throw the ball past the line of scrimmage.
Khyber53 replied to hepcat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Dang. Well, at least you can't hear Darnold screaming for his life every time the line gives way. Of course, he might not have enough time to. If your line can't hold up for 2.5 seconds, then you are going to have problems. If your plays take more than 2.5 seconds to get an open receiver, then you are going to have problems. If your QB's processing of targets and threats takes more than 2.5 seconds, then you are going to have problems. If your coach, deep in a 5-12 season says the process is working 100%, then you are going to have problems. To misquote Jay-Z: We've got 99 problems and our coach is more than one. -
We'd lose to their practice squad and male cheerleaders.

So, we're just trudging on to the same doom we've faced already.

We'll draft another CB, just watch. Sadly, it's losers that draft early. Consistent winners don't draft early or rely on doing so. We've been a top 10 drafter for how many years running now?
