  1. Sometimes coaches just need to refresh and be refreshed. I can only imagine how much of a drag that organization has been on its employees over the years. And that Washington O-line was becoming a lot like ours became.
  2. He wound up in a better situation than probably most of the QBs drafted ahead of him. Sometimes falling in the draft takes you way past the bad teams. Imagine if Aaron Rodgers had started his career at the Jets instead of ending it there? Or Tom Brady had started out in Detroit? Good luck to him.
  3. Craziest thought... just in case Bryce does prove to be too small for the NFL (I think he's going to be great) the Panthers could just grab Will Levis or Hendon Hooker in the second. If Bryce stays healthy then that back-up QB has had the advantage of Reich, McCown, Dalton and a year of study before the draft next year... could trade him back to some team in need. Crazy stupid idea...
  4. I just remember the optimism expressed during the Rhule hire. Let's not start taking the victory lap while we are still in the consolation prize group. When we pick 27th -- 32nd in the draft for three years running, now we're talking...
  5. Let's see how this all works out before we get the crown out again.
  6. I feel bad for him. He'll get snagged today and will probably start at some point this year. It might be a big character building exercise for him that pays off during his career.
  7. Pretty hard to be made with $185 million guaranteed...
  8. They probably wish they could have this year. I think he's worn out his welcome there.
  9. Okay, let's make those final predictions for the Carolina Panthers 2023 draft. Who do you think we'll be taking? First Round: Pick 1: Bryce Young, QB Alabama Second Round: Pick 39 Mazi Smith, DT Michigan Third Round: Pick 93 Brenton Strange, TE, Penn State Fourth Round: Pick 114 Byron Young, Edge, Tennessee Fourth Round: Pick 132 AT Perry, WR, Wake Forest Fifth Round: Pick 145 Dorian Williams, LB, Tulane Honestly, though, I can see us trying to trade back into the second round.
  10. Reminds me of the old days when the NFCSouth had four great QBs competing and a new division winner each season. It was crazy but never ever boring.
  11. 36 more hours and we can put this part of it behind us. Speculation and the constant picking of the unknown scab will be replaced by actually grounded complaining and whining. It's all going to be okay.
  12. Both teams could end up taking a nose dive after this.
  13. Let's see for 2022 they posted $28.31 billion in gross profits, an increase of 27 percent over 2021, which was a tough year for everyone. But even during the pandemic shut down year of 2021, they still posted more than $22 billion in gross profits, a 3.6 percent increase from the previous year. 2020 did see a decline from 2019's gross profits dropping 21.92 percent, but still posting in$21.5 billion in gross profits for the year. Not sure where you think there are some poor decisions they've been making. Heck, we should all be having such terrible luck.
  14. I don't think Carter will be there in the fifth. I still say we'll go DT with Mazi Smith in round 2, grab a TE in the third with Tucker Kraft, Edge DJ Johnson in the fourth, Emil Ekiyor out of Alabama in the fifth.
  15. Disney is planning something very big for next year and is clearing the decks to create cash now.
  16. It's going to be Mazi Smith, DT, Michigan. He'll be a wrecker in a 3-4 defense.
  17. We didn't ship DJ to Chicago to trade down. We're making pick #1. The question for us is who we are taking at #39.
  18. I can't wait until the draft has happened and we can move on.
  19. We live in an age where people are considered believable because they have successfully signed up for and maintained a Twitter account. Never in history has the bar been set so low for "reliable sources."
  20. A lot of people are heroes on high school or college and never move beyond that. Some of them get trophies for it. Some people see even greater success afterwards. That's just how the world works and the trophies we've won become less important the further we go in life.
