Official Buccaneers at Panthers GameDay Thread

Seriously, Tepper needs to call Tom Dundon and have a sit down with coaches and GMs of both teams. Let the Hurricanes give pointers on building an organization up and building a culture. Because this entire franchise is shambles right now. -

Sounds kinda like hating the step sibling and blaming them for your mom and dad divorcing and remarrying. I mean I'm not big on the QB money we've wasted but none of that is on Sam. Sam I truly believe could be good. Problems are obvious, and idk that they're fixable since they are 99% in his head. I certainly don't like the prospect of being stuck with him without some sort of mandatory therapy with a therapist that works specifically with athletes. -

I don't understand the Darnold hatred. I really don't. He ain't it, but he's at least as good a passer as Cam right now. Cam just offers more with his legs. Rhule needs to decide who is playing now. If it's Cam, Darnold sits all game. If it's Darnold, you can bring Cam in inside the 10 on 2nd-4th downs or on short 3rd downs. -

At least 5 posters ITT would make better coaches than Rhule right now. -

Matt Rhule pulls out the QB who made a big play to put in the QB who started the game in a formation that the entire world knows is going to be a run play, and then two plays later, throws Sam back in on a 3rd down play and expects him to find the rhythm. Rhule is a fuging moron. -

Bro I absolutely hate the Verizon commercials. And as much of the Peacock app my wife and I watch, she's like every commercial. I wanted to off myself the first 2k times. -

Somehow we hold them to a fg. At least our death will take a half. -

There haven't been multiple dangerous passes. There's literally been the one ill advised throw, the pick. Tight throws that were really well defended are not dangerous in the implied sense here. Cam was doing well up to the pick -
I have seen Cam walk onto the field a handful of times. I've seen him drive down to win in the rain against the Saints. I've seen him flip into the endzone against the Texans. I've seen him throw all over the place against the Vikings. I've seen him go off on the Seahawks in the playoffs. I'm grateful I'm not there today. I don't want my last Cam moment in person to be him being pulled for Sam Darnold in the 2nd quarter.

So, since we have a few days off, let's discuss something. What's everybody's hockey knowledge depth here? Do we have beer leaguers or do we have casual fans that learned over time or do we have guys who literally know the bare bones? I became a fan about 4 months before the Stanley Cup win. I was in high school and my football coach told me I should check out some "redneck hockey". I did and fell in love...but I didn't totally understand the game. Fast forward a few years, I'm in college and have been watching regularly for about a season and a half. I've learned the game due to a college roommate from Charlotte who LOVES hockey. He walked me through basics of zones, offsides, icing, cross checking, high sticking (I knew the terms but not the nuances). A year later, and im figuring out exactly how and why positions function. A few years after that, I'm playing pickup with my buddy who played in leagues as a kid and I'm clueless. I can kinda skate but im a baby deer with pads and a stick. He teaches me enough and pickup guys are kind to newbies. Nearly 6 years later, still have my stick and gear, haven't played any pickup (Indian Trail for those curious where) in a few years due to marriage and kids. But I had gotten competent. I feel I understand hockey at nearly the level of football at this point.

Here's my thought process. 6 players are FAs after this season. Kotkaniemi (21) Nino (29) Trochek (28) Stepan (31) Necas (22) Lorentz (25) Then we have Fast (30) and Jordan (33) due up the following. Necas, Lorentz, and Kotkaniemi are all RFA. We have a lot of young talent, but we also have a well oiled machine of a team. Jordan is replaceable and we all know that. Stepan is a solid have, but not somebody we can't replace the production of. If we're looking long term, Fast being moved sooner rather than later gives us the biggest possibility of a return. He's a veteran guy who could help a lot of teams and he's not a necessary, gotta have piece here. It's a good problem to have and we kinda hold the keys. I think we for sure keep Kotkaniemi because he's really standing out to me. Nino and Tro I'm really on the fence with, especially Nino because he's been so good for us for several seasons.

Let's be real, long term. Stepan and Fast or Drury and Poturalski. That's the choice we're looking at for the future

If/when Matt Rhule is fired, this place needs to be prepared. There will likely be a firesale. I'm talking top to bottom gutting save for a couple guys that Fitterer decides he wants. The entire staff (hopefully) will be out the door with Rhule. Whoever we bring in will be tasked with putting together a staff and Fitterer will be involved there after this poo show of a staff. Then that coach and Fitt sit down and build this team through the draft and then go nuts in free agency to fill it out. But a lot of names we love? Expect them gone. Could be anybody. Could be everybody. After this absolute meltdown of year 2, I don't expect Tepper to do nothing. If he does, then he really does not give a fug about winning. This dumpster fire is not going to improve with his staff.

I mean under Fox, if nothing else, we were going to be able to run the ball and play good to great defense. Under Rivera, if nothing else, we were going to be able to move the ball somehow and play good to great defense. Exceptions existed for those two, but they consistently had us at least operational. We're DOA every Sunday right now with flash plays here and there.

We're gonna be seeing this the rest of the year.

I'm just saying, the Carolina Hurricanes have gotten tough wins with major starters being out recently. If you're wanting somewhere to put a few hours a week, the Canes are it

If we can't throw, we won't win games. It's that simple. Cam running can't be our only meaningful production consistently. -
Got another off a really good pass on zone entry. Real nice top shelf shot

True no matter the context.

That's the thing. We've been on this trend for a few years now. This is unlike 15-1 because that was sort of out of nowhere. This team started trending and has steadily improved to this point through player development and really, really, REALLY fuging smart roster moves. But your point is taken, this is the most fun we've had aside from the year of the birth of the Storm Surge. This team is wide open and should be scaring teams come April.

The extended rest will do us good after this last week. Having a full roster for next Thursday will be nice.
-
Well coached team that bought into the way we do things and play together. It's a far bigger story than it will ever get credit.
-
Strong special teams play. Strong neutral zone. So far we're making them earn everything.

How I'm sure we are all looking at this team right now
