Something not being discussed is that @Verge's source is Chris Simms. -

Yep. We can get a good player, most likely. I mean or we could fug it up and draft someone like Parsons, no doubt who would help plug a hole on the roster but also at a position of lower value. This is ultimately the Panther way, FWIW.
-
Yeah, I mean this is a deep draft at OL, so I am not AGAINST the idea of trading down to get more draft capital. But, you don't just trade down out of spite if you have the opportunity to get a high value prospect in a position that is difficult to fill. Quality LT's are probably even more rare than franchise QB's. Top end corner's don't exactly grow on trees either. That said, it doesn't mean that I wouldn't be listening to offers if they come my way.
-
7-9 is the record we have finished with the most in our franchise history.
-
I think that depends on what is available. An elite LT or CB prospect is worth snagging. If they aren't available, trading down is wise.
-
I am down to take a LT or CB at 8. I wouldn't even bother with Teddy. That ship has already sailed. Cut him and either sign a veteran or get a later round QB.
-
They aren't gonna trade Jimmy G unless their rookie is lights out. More likely to see a Alex Smith/Pat Mahomes scenario.

Hurricanes Vs. Blue Jackets Best of Four Series 3/18-3/25

What a win. Sorely needed as we shat the bed in Raleigh. For SURE hope Columbus gets shelled by the rest of the division. Really don't want to see them in the playoffs. -
Shenanigans are part of the sell.
-
Maybe to see if he was dirt cheap. I don't mind kicking the tires.
-
Yep. They are usually hand timed versus laser timed. The NFL laser timing is a little suspect too but at least it is standardized across the board.
-
CB would be nice. I am going to take an outlier here and say backup RB. I think we can sign a quality backup for relatively cheap.
-
Also beware the smoked up numbers on 40 times. You pretty much cannot trust almost any of these 40 times.
-
Yep.

To be determined. He talks a good game, so let's see if he can produce the desired results. I am sure Dan Snyder and Jerry Jones once had optimistic fans behind them too.
-
I don't hate him. He didn't sign himself. I do think he is one of the worst FG kickers in the NFL, and the statistics largely bear that out. I'm way more annoyed with the front office for not making a move in that area. But, perhaps we can draft/sign a kicker and get that part of our team shored up, as well.

Yeah, rolling with Cam would have been the obvious solution. At least if/when the decision is proven to be wrong, there is no more money tied up into it. Not sure who ultimately made the call to move on from Cam and sign Teddy, but he/they deserve a lot of scorn for those decisions. They will cost us this offseason and the next. I don't think Cam would have had any issue playing. He really has never shown any inclination towards being the kind of player to hold out. He seems much more likely to be the sort of guy that bets heavily on his abilities. But, this is a hindsight discussion, so those mistakes have already been made. As I said, I'd prefer to just simply move on. We basically know what we have in Teddy and we also know it isn't something that has any real future here. I don't think that is going to be a situation that is productive for the team over the course of a season.
-
Eh....sure. I think we still have some other needs that might make taking that many DB's a little overkill. It just depends on how the board falls, I suppose. Big test early for our new GM.
-
Are you related to him?
-
FOUR CB's?? That's a little excessive, I would say.
-
He produced more in line with what he was paid last season but he will definitely not this season. He's an NFL backup caliber QB that is getting paid like a starter. That's a problem, no matter how you dice it. It is a detrimental move, there is absolutely no question about it. It robs us of a large sum of cap money that could be either spent improving the team this season or rolled to next season to help us improve. At the time it seemed more in line with what the market perception was of him. In hindsight, it was a bad signing. It's hard to spin it any other way than that.
