Burns is probably going to be traded right?
Rags replied to firefox1234's topic in Carolina Panthers
and if that's true why would anyone trade for him when they know he's going away in FA anyway? There's been literally zero smoke from Burns is unhappy camp and wants to leave but. You know I am posting on the huddle immeately after a big trade happens so what am I expecting here, rly. -

no And even if he did he wouldn't go for a first. He's got 1 year of a contract left and hes not gonna change a defense hard enough to warrant it, even by analytics standards too. we got a 2nd, 3rd and 4th for a HB everyone knew we were trading on a bad contract from a bad offense and now everyone acts like we're in burn it to the ground mode. -
Kliff called the TO before Kyler could read the D and make an assessment.
-
To quote Voch, I'm a Floor guy not a Ceiling guy. With Young I see Jake Locker (wrt durability and similar talents, not rly playstyles or football IQ) before I see better Russell Wilson. I don't think Young is bad, but I think Stroud has a much higher floor with a slightly lower ceiling.

I mean, I never had even half the optimism a lot of y'all seem to do about Wilks but also this is his 2nd time inheriting a completely abysmal offense. Hard not to feel a lil bad for him.
-
I feel you, I like Wilks. This offense is anemic, worse than last year somehow. Sam Darnold is still looking like our best QB on the roster. At least we're hitting rock bottom in a year with some intriguing QB prospects.

Remember when people thought posters looking forward to the draft were just being cynical and looking to tank and not looking at the Writing on the wall?
-
Hooker looks good, but his age is a little worrying. That being said it wouldn't stop him from having a solid 10-11 year career if he fits in. Penix is still my favorite QB from a talent standpoint. Dude just looks so good as a passer

REPORT: Burns practically a "lock" to be traded before the deadline
Rags replied to saX man's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah but Jamal was looked at as the Luke Kuchely of SS. Strong locker room guy, elite in the box and was capable in coverage. The Seahawks thought he was the missing piece. The overpay sorta kinda made sense for a team looking to replace Kam. Brian Burns is really good, but he's gonna want cap instantly so you have to weigh whether or not he's wroth it compared to getting a young talent in the Late first for 4-5 years. Basically what I'm saying is Jamal was a special, dumb case. It's not gonna happen with Burns -

BB doesn't half the hype prime Adams does, for one. -

So this guy is a notrious BSer, check his previous tweets. He has no sources, he just spews poo and sees what sticks. That said I can see us trading Burns because DEs are expensive. I wouldn't agree with it but I can see it. -
Then say that lmao, that still doesn't control the fact that our offense is poo and most of us fabs know that while these players are going to play to win, long term it's best for the Panthers to try to hit on a 1st round QB plain and simple. We're not seriously going to compete without an above average signal caller in the backfield. The NFL has proven this time and time again.
-
That's literally one draft class, and lbr that's only because Fields and Jones were left. I love Horn but it'd be stupid to take him if Lawrence or Wilson were on the board given what we had at QB. It's not even just the fact that "Haha QB if you get the #1 pick", even last year i'd say take Hutchins or trade down if we had #1 even with all our QB problems, but the fact that it is literally our weakest position and there's good prospects thereat the top of the draft.
-
Nothing guarantees a good QB But if you have a shot at getting a good QB you take it and live with the consequences lol. Over half this board wouldn't want Allen if he were in this years draft, rightfully so because none of us knew his intangibles, work ethic and desire to win and get better. Truth of the matter is with QB you just keep swinging until you get it right.

Penix is that dude imo. The question is can he put it all together. But if we're at 1, Stroud's gotta be the pick. He's not Fields or Haskins.
-
I still like Penix even with this "rough stretch", I think Stroud is a better prospect than him (wow Rags actually likes an OSU QB) and Young is the more exciting prospect, but I like him more atm than both Young and Levis. Plus like, with that name no WAY he doesn't get David Newton fired, right?
-
Favorite prospect last year and was so stoked when we got him. He's been as advertised and I think he'll be a captain of this team sooner rather than later. Dude's been nothing short of a pro here and on the field.

Don’t be surprised if Panthers beat Rams Sunday
Rags replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Coached, sure. Otherwise they have all their money in a QB, WR, DT and CB. They're missing a lot of talent that helped them get to the SB last year, and yes "fug them picks" worked, but now they're missing young, cheap talent to replace that talent. On top of that, Stafford may be playing through an injury. This is purely in the bigger picture of the NFL and not jsut about or matchup, we're still gonna lose lmao. But if we had a competent offense and a good coach, I'd say we're better than them this season. Rams are trending down in the NFC. -
Is really any better than Darnold or Baker?
-
Willis and Corral were always media overhypes. Willis has potential but is the definition of a project, whereas Corral has a great release and solid short to intermediate accuracy, but his deep accuracy leaves a LOT to be desired and his durability is a real concern, though I do think if he's able to work out Corral's a late 2nd prospect. There's a reason these prospects fell.
-
Because First round QBs hit incredibly more often than QBs taken in the following rounds. This is proven. "But they bust more too!" no crap, as it is the most important position in football, prospects that show almost any kind of potential usually go in the first two rounds. We're not a playoff team, there's no reason not to tank and try the get the best available player.

You said Great, not Super Bowls. There's literally nothing that guarantees superbowls.
