  1. i don't know how much more patience the FO and Staff have in him, but I agree. Espcially if we try to use Viska to replace him. I just don't see this as writing on the wall for him with this trade.
  2. Yeah. Cutting or trading TMJ leaves us with a void at outside receiver depth, Viska doesn't solve this.
  3. Still wanna know the price, but big bodied slot guy who's smart isn't a bad thing to have on this roster. He's more proven than Shi just incase Shi's momentum doesn't carry over to the regular season, and as Panthers fans we should be thankful. How many middle round-late round WRs have balled out in camp for us only to disappear for 16 games? TMJ, Higgins, Shi and Shenault isn't bad depth behind D.J. and Robby.
  4. Maybe? I know Baker's listed at 6'1 but I remember him being closer to 5'11-6'0 around the draft, which would be the same height that P.J. is listed. Thing is some QBs can play short, others can't. I don't think P.J. is one of those guys.
  5. He's not wrong. He shows good pre snap communication, I've always been a little impressed by it save for the false start the other evening. That said, it's everything post sanp (plus I think his height doesn't help, that 1st int against the pats I think an o-lineman blocked his line of sight lol) that makes me concerned.
  6. He said the exact same thing abt Ickey right before he gave him the starting job. How is that throwing him under the bus by saying "He has more work to do"? I get you like Corral but goddamn man.
  7. Tommy Sweeny. No idea why i said Swain I had. A horrible brain fart. That said Tommy Sweeny is NOT a young developing TE, cheaper option yeah. But he's been in the NFL for 3 years and is already 27. He's on the last year of his contract and had 9 catches last year. And a quick search on Quintin Morris shows he's an udfa last year. We have two developing TEs in Tremble and Sullivan by that logic. O.J.'s getting cut, after being a back up the past 3 years, he could not make it as a back up for a team that would like extra TE depth. I really would not mind it, but honestly I really wouldn't expect him to overtake ian/Tommy as TE1/2 (I really do think Tommy takes the 1 spot sooner rather than later), and while I like him more than Ian we're stuck with him til after next season, and the only reason I like Howard is because he's a former first round pick who had a solid rookie season at TE. That said he has an absurdly high first down catch rate so fug it can't be worse than Sullivan.
  8. I'm not arguing whos the better player is, I've been following Howard since he got drafted because I was so sure he'd be the next great TE. His potential alone is why I wouldn't mind it because I know what he could be and what he's done. But because I've been following Howard, I can say I wouldn't expect much from him. Hell I'd expect more from Ebron off the couch. If he gets beat out by Geoff Swain -- a guy who's career receiving statistics are slightly better than ITs season last year -- and the guy whos backing that guy up, on top of not being able to step up last season when the Bucs had numerous receiving options, the only reason why you'd expect anything of him is because he was a former first round pick with a couple of good seasons.
  9. he had less yards than Ian the last two years, and if he gets cut would've lost to such names as Tommy Sweeney and Quintin Morris. i'm not expecting much from Thomas, and wouldn't mind the Howard signing but the only reason to expect he'd do better than IT is because of his draft status.
  10. You're in the NFL section, there's specific sections of the Forum you can access from here, the Carolina Panther's section is the one you're looking for.
  11. I'm still on the Noah Sewell 2023 hype train as it still preseason and I'm not sold that Luvu has broken past his limitations or that Brandon Smith is gonna be a top tier LBer, but more content than I thought I'd be.
  12. He was my annual favorite not first rounder, but even then I thought he might need a season develop and learn. Flashing early. Might earn his way to a starting role soon. Let's hope this continues.
  13. Apparently Wirfs on the Bucs is going through one, Bucs fan I talked to said he should be fine week 1 though and by all accounts, sounds like Brown will be as well.
  14. Damn. That's deep bro. It really do be like that. Damn.
  15. I really don't care if a coach wants one of "his" guys esp since his track record with his guys as far as my team is concerned is "solid depth". There's not a lot of immediate need to upgrade the guys he brought on besides P.J. On top of that -- Mims is the type of player Rhule likes even if he didn't go to BU. Tall and athletic. I think we'd sniff around this even if he WASN'T a former Rhule player. Finally, TMJ was a Brady guy. I know the stigma is Rhule is hyper fetishized on players he's worked with...but he brought on TMJ to build some level of trust with his then OC who wanted one of HIS guys.
  16. I'll agree there. I don't rly get the argument for TMJ for Mims straight up, and a conditional 6th is as high as I'd go if we just wanna be sure we get him. But if one of the two has to make the roster this year, I'll bet on the guy who Rhule seemed to get the most out of (yes, in college) and knows how to work with on some level rather than a guy who might be in street clothes on game day.
  17. And Terrace's has been more constant. Before he suited up in black and blue his leg issues were known. I was a hype for TMJ coming out of college, even before we drafted him. I'm not down on TMJ because of his talent, I know how talented he can be. But availability is the best ability.
  18. Because Horn hasn't had a setback on his injuries, nor did he have an injury history coming out.
  19. I don't know about that one chief. But if our o-line can block and Baker is just competent, I see us making a wild card on the virtue of our defense being on the field a lot less and not the obscene amount of time they were on the field some games last year.
  20. Remember the days when the Huddle used to love posting about some WR struggling somewhere and we'd post about bringing them here? Yeah me too. Anyway I liked Mims a lot coming out. Don't care if he doesn't wanna learn all the positions a WR can line up at really. And for the right price (E: read as Condtional 6th, I rly think he's gonna get cut.) I rly wouldn't mind the pick up at all. If he has coaching issues, I'd say reunite him with his old coach even if it were some other coach on some other team. I really don't get the Rhule brining in players he's coached/players that know his scheme thing, it happens all across the league, all across sports leagues. Every player he's brought in have either been a decent FA signing or a late round draft pick, and with the exception of P.J. (who I only think has been around this long is because our QB depth sucks poo) have at the very least been solid back up material. Weird thing to grip abt.
  21. Some of y'all rly need to worry about the inner workings of the Carolina Panthers a little less.
  22. depth almost completely across the board is this teams biggest weakness, but at least this team looks like it could field starter quality players at every position for once.
  23. Every one of the QBs really likes throwing to Kirkwood I've noticed. Think he'll end up the 6th WR.
  24. imagine being a better relationship and spending time harping on how the old relationship which everyone at the time thought was good idea didn't work just so you can remain angry. and the realize you're just on the outside looking in on that situation anyway and u still choose to be angry.
