32 is not old for a QB. We could get a solid 5 years out of him easily and buy to to draft a guy we love that isn't in the top 5 of the draft.

Although Darin does write in a official capacity for the Panthers now, one should not assume his opinions are that of the franchise.

The start of the NFL season isn't until March. However, as we saw in Detroit teams can mutually agree to part ways and begin trade talks now. The actual trade won't happen until March, but the terms can be agreed to before then. I would keep paying close attention over the next two weeks. Teams are trying to get a jump on the NFL season and making QB plans now. The longer Deshaun stays out of the mix the more it hurts him and he knows it. If there still is no movement after two weeks in Houston, I would assume Deshaun is likely staying put.

I have been preaching here for a while that in regards to so damn many GM interviews that Tepper was learning more and more about how other teams do things. In other industries this is called Business Intelligence and is expensive as hell to invest it. Now Rhule says this... For a couple of guys this new to the NFL game to take the time and really dig in and see how other teams do things I think is brilliant. They both took a huge trip farther up the learning curve.

No doubt. Would you rather be talking on zoom with a bunch of media folks or talking to your players and going to the senior bowl for evaluations?

In discussing his draft philosophy, Fitterer says in Seattle the view was that there wasn't much difference in talent between the 25th and 40th picks (thus all the trade downs). Feels that top tier "ledge" stops around 16-18. So basically you have 16-18 guys that really distinguish themselves. After that, you just try to find guys that fit your system. Talent drops off from there. Of course there are outliers, but I believe he is right.
