He is getting a shot regardless but I'm not holding my breath on him coming back and going super nova. One of his biggest concers was durability coming out so looking bad in this preseason isn't what makes me tepid on hope with him at this point. If he can come back next year and just be available then I would be happy to see what he can do.
-
He is very good. I deleted it because it felt harsh. He isn't great unfortunately, at least not here. I agree as a 3-4 edge the tackles would go down but sacks way up. I think he also plays well at LDE but we rotate him becaude of the lack of priduction from the other players. Some here treat him like a unreplaceable player yet Riddick was just picked up for cheap and no picks was really my point. We absolutely should have traded him for that haul and it wouldn't have had to be justified at that price.

The Saints need to get away from their now unnecessary cap hell now that they are not contenders. We can clean up our mistakes by the end of next year if we are smart and they can't. They look limited as long as they are still operating like it's still 2017...and they still didn't win a SB with all that fuggery lol.

He is part of a lawsuit against that behavior. I get PJ for the short week and pick change with Baker but that explanation reeks after Rhule.

Are we a better, equal or worse situation than the colts?
Waldo replied to RumHam's topic in Carolina Panthers
Too soon to tell. Ask again at the end of the season. -
Great coaches on the offensive side. McD has been very good on his side but he has had a stacked staff on the other side until Daboll left this year. It all starts there for Allen. I don' think he would be nearly the QB he is today with most of the teams he could have gone to that year.

Burns absolutely should have been traded for 2 1st and a 2nd. If you don't have the crew to pick up at least 2 very good players with those 3 picks then keeping Burns isn't going to matter either way. He isn't wrong but I think Moore for just a 1st is too little vs his value and decent contract. Jackson is the DJ I wish we could ship off for a 2nd and 4th/5th. Plenty of solid CB talent coming out and he isn't worth his contract.

Honestly I didn't think Rhule had many positives after they traded for Sam onwards so everything this year was just waiting for the inevitable to me. New coaches, Baker or better Oline I was pretty vocal about not having any belief he wouldn't face plant because that is all he has done and his actual football skills only apply to the college level, last year proved that. Even if he improved some this year it wouldn't be enough unless he did a 180 at lightspeed lol. Easier to win the loto tonight then for me to believe that after his constant idiocy and incompetence on so many levels. I can completely respect a fan to be excited and hopeful but not blind and unrealistic. Some of they hype coming into this season was just embarrassing. We could have had Daboll but we are going to have a really high pick in a better draft after snagging a legit LT so it's not all bad IMO.
-
Lol that is what I have been doing since we brought back Rhule in January. Just another month, at least it is more fun now. Allowing yourself to get hyped in our situation is just asking to get your feelings hurt for no good reason.

He may not be first in line on blame for those but unless he was screaming 'NO' then he was probably part of the problem. Just those 2 moves will is enough to fire a HC and/or GM. When they got Ryan I knew it was going to end poorly over there. And after Wentz like they learned nothing.
-
Just appears to be a once good HC that got old and stagnant by NFL standards. I wouldn't discount this as Ballard's time to prove he should stay after the moves they have made recently.

No but 2 future 1sts and a 2nd is good enough for most players. I was just saying that usually the offseason trades are for less than in-season trades because there are more options on the table for any team. We may get a 1st and a future 2nd but I doubt we see 2 first for him let alone the total 3 pick package. He is a good player but he isn't nearly that good. Sounds like the Eagles were going hard for a SB this year. JR was pretty conservative. The Gilbert trade was for 2 1st and I think that made him even more conservative. I always want to be a seller and not a buyer in those deals. If you don't have good enough people to find a replacement with those kinds of picks then you have a lot larger issues than losing 1 player. Maybe not QB but not always.

The 2nd was a game changer and was no brainer territory. I doubt we see a deal like that in the offseason for him unfortunately.

Pie to those on this board… you’re here when it’s ROCK BOTTOM

Third one is not the hardest one by far. And Tepper could keep digging easily. Just enjoy life and save hope for when it's worth burning. -
Of course it was Tepper pushing it because that is the kind of stupidity you expect of a new owner but he is the professional that needs to speak up and be the voice of reason. You can disagree with most people in a constructive way and if you can't then you need to move along for your own good. I have heard zip about any of that from him in all of those mistakes and they did hire him to do Rhule's bidding so the shoe fits from a distance. By all accounts he sounds like a yes man and Hurney proved why those guys can stick around like cancer doing a substandard job. If anything comes up, and it well could, then I will eat those words but he appears without any evidence against it yet as a yes man from the stands.
-
Traded for Sam like a bafoon and was going hard for Watson. Has yes man written all over him. He has to prove a hell of a lot more positives before I can belive in him in any kind of positive way.
-
Ickey has been everything I could hope for. I'm really happy we went withthe guy who is a beast in the run game and has the ability to improve his pass protection to an elite level. Watching him grow has been fun this year. All the noise at the begining of the year is really funny now.
-
The idea of a new HC coming in and doing a mega deal year 1 out of the gate is worst case scenario. Maybe year 2 if they have a good to great learning curve but never year 1. After the Watson swing I don't want to see anyone in house on the buying end of a mega deal anytime soon. A new and competent offensive minded HC could be competing and winning by the end of the first year with a vet or a rookie, with some luck thrown in. I don't think amyone here now fits the minimum of that so it will hopefully be new faces. Just draft a QB, find a vet if it's not on of the top 2 guys and do it again in 2024 if it's not good enough and until we find a long term QB option. This year is all about telling us what we need to do better next year. Staff, personel and dumb direction that got us in this damn mess.

Shaq says Wilks is bringing back the Panthers to what they used to be.
Waldo replied to rayzor's topic in Carolina Panthers
We could be without both Wilks and Shaq next year, nothing guaranteed but it is a solid chance both are gone next year. This sounds like normal stuff and better than we had but it hardly changes the big picture situation for us. Wilks is doing a good job as an interim HC and this year is back to NFL quality football vs the Rhule clownshow. That is great for now but not nearly enough for next year IMO. I'm way over the Rivera school of football. Just get a good DC and get the same benefits without the huge negatives we operated under during the 'good old days' because Rhule was such a reduculously inept clown that we run back to the not good enough safe space a lot of us wanted the hell out of before Ron was fired. -
I thought he did but the more I looked into it he just cleaned it up. That was my mistake. Darnold was sacrificed up in NJ, we just finished him off sadly. He can't read the field and at this point it isn't likely to change since he is doing exactly what he did in school 6 years ago. Darnold was always going to bust for that fact in the NFL and even playing for really bad teams doesn't change that.

Link It was worse than you remember. Allen was a tweak, a big one but more of a tweak. Link
