This team has never had a good GM. Yes Hurney hit on those guys and still built losing teams. As a GM the record of the Panthers under him was 104-121. I never proped up Gettleman in this so not sure why you are on that kick. They all stink regardless of some of their positives. Gettleman drafted CMC and he was still a chode. Looking like yall have some selective memories on Hurney from the current trauma.

JFC the only pie we get as Panthers fans is dogpoofootball pie. He literally help built a 2 win team, was in the room for all of those awful decisions and then just game of throned his way to GM. Get the fug out of here with that and your alt account. Loved Dan the person and player but he is dog poo at this point as a Panther employee. I hope he enjoys his pay while licking both Tepper's shoes and asscracks.

No he didn't hit on his steals lol. Kalil and Gross were great but the others were all over the place on the oline, even if Otah is lumped with those 2. He drafted Mathis but changed schemes in his rookie preseason (long time ago but I think that's when they pulled the plug) because it was very poorly done and basically obsoleted a good lineman for his term here of 3 years where he went off to become a first team pro-bowler. LBers were his best work so I agree on that. He was always chasing that one thing that he thought would make them contenders every year. His contracts were a big issue also. The Peppers fiasco. The 2010 and lockout missfire. 2.0 took a team that went to 4 out of 5 years in the playoffs at the preseason that was an 11-5 team and then built the beginning of the no win Panthers they are today. He gave Tepper the thumbs up on Rhule. That's just what I can remember but I feel there is a lot more to add.

He tried to draft Clausen in the first but couldn't find a trade partner... Most of those good 1st round picks came from coaches and such in the first, those picks they debated and stumped amongst themselves. He just saved the picks he wanted to make until the 2nd pick which is why so few of those worked out.

$17.8 average on that 4 year deal Link. Suleiman decided to push most of the money back into the last 2 years because he could just make another deal and push more dead cash to another year. If he would have given Burns a deal similar in structure then it's like Burns having a cap hit of 60 million his last 2 years...
-
Morgan just game of throned Suleiman even though he was the talent expert in that throuple Burns is my guess. Suleiman must have really screwed up behind the scenes on that one which would explain a few things.
-
Thielen was the only good signing, Bell was OK and the rest were awful and should be gone soon. Even the deals they did with Bozeman was bad. Corbett is a 11.6 dead cap hit on his last year and he only played in 4 games this year. There is plenty of dead cap on the way and Suleiman was a big part of all of that.
-
Go look at the losers they signed last season and their dead cap because that is also going to hit soon.

Yes men have a shelf life of how long they can avoid blame. Suliman was pure trash.

It's honestly probably just Tepper pushing more analytics into the system. He doesn't see the issue as player evaluation problems but some number his people need to find to make it all work. It's been a common theme with him trying to mine the magical numbers that help turn his failures into success. No idea what SS is doing anymore. The contracts have looked like crap after the Moore extension so maybe not having him handling contracts anymore is a good thing.
-
We also know the pro personnel he signed as the pro personnel guy and it was awful. There is nothing else to offer because that is all we are given and if people are already making up cope then it needs to keep being said apparently.
-
They need to film him doing that to the scouting department and it finally becomes worth it.
-
It was posted else where but OCs don't last more than 2 years in the modern NFL. Either they don't produce in a short time while getting fired or they do and get hired away. They should have just hired Steichen as the HC last year before letting him get away. They would still be in the playoffs but they decided to keep the defensive HC that just nosed dived his playoff team the second half of the season.
-
We saw what he did last year and that was more than enough. And Fritters was also a rising star lol.
-
It's a win for him in his bank account but not necessarily a long term win when you are in your mid 40s and not 60s. Reich doing it was just a large retiement plan. Dan doing it is potentially career suicide. It's going to be interesting seeing who wants Fritters now. With the changes in Seattle his easiest hope is questionable if it's on the table for him anymore.
-
Yup. They were used at best and I bet Tepper rolls them out as part of the hire just like he did with the S2 with Young. Tepper only hires people he likes. That is the qualification, sell him or buddy up to him or both.
-
They just tell him his people are well respected again. Why would they build up their competition? They get great trades, solid castoffs and wins from us. They will never change that unless they are forced to do so. Tepper still thinks those people are helping him vs using him. He is clueless and Dan isn't the guy to turn it over to with Caldwell being his consultant lol
-
Yeah the guys who survived the game of thrones and then signed up for another year will deffinatly turn things around. I just can't wait for the knives to turn on them lol. That's all we have as Panthers fans, unwatchable football but juicy staff drama to laugh at.

QB Quandary: 2024 Draft, FA Stopgap, or Stand Pat?
Waldo replied to rayzor's topic in Carolina Panthers
No it doesn't matter because the guy who owns it runs a trainwreck. Still what I said stands. I have no problem with wanting it to happen but it really shouldn't in reality...but this is a trainwreck so they really could do it because their people are that bad here. There just isn't anything smart about it, it will be more incompetence that does that job in 24. Hell they can't even do a firesell in week 6 like Miami dod to build themselves up because there is so little talent left on the roster. -
No one good. There is always a line of bad to take easy cash.
