The first time I looked at him going into that draft I couldn't belive the ducks he was throwing in college and the people saying he was a legit QB prospect. It was mind boggling. The ball came out like it was launched by a wet noodle. It was unbelievably bad but we also went after Little and his film was terrible also. Hurney really had some beer goggles on at times.

Yeah it just changed in 2020. IDK, the pro-bowl has fan engagement involved (maybe 2/3rds?) and the AP 50 person panel decides the individual awards. Maybe customer involvement gives it more credence then a faceless panel of 'experts' to the player's union? True but it's also a decent strategy if there is a good plan in place. It all matters who is pitching it and Fritterer doesn't get the pass from me at this point. The rookie brought in would be key, IMO, more than the bridge QB who shouldn't be more than a short bridge. I still want to see any rookie starting by the end of the year regardless, good or bad get in there and show what you have been working on.

I wish we would completely purge all of the Rhule and Hurney people and go in a different direction. I'm still hoping for a consultant to be brought in because I don't believe in Fritterer without help and direction. Steichen looks like the prize this offseason. I'm still skeptical of Johnson and Waldron.

100%. Ellis also mentioned that. Either way we are lucky and should be excited moving forward. Year 2 is a big one with a full NFL offseason not full of all the draft stuff.

I would be happy with a regular pick for a QB in the 1st, no trades. It's never perfect but the odds are a lot better. I wouldn't mind a miss but a low ceiling guy like MJones or Pickett would be worst case scenario for me. If we miss out on in the first than draft one later and be prepared to draft one again, just like we should do after Corral last year. Keep drafting QBs until we get a franchise QB, ok or servicable is not a reason to pass on a potential upgrade.

Coaching is the top issue for us and will determine if it's even worth arguing about what body plays QB moving forward. The Rams got a SB so the trade still was worth it.

That is a two way street man. Sam is just a bad QB and has been since school. Nothing has changed there. I couldn't imagine being tied to a QB like Sam after climbing to the top of my profession. In these cases they were all terrible so it's just a puddle of sad outside of bank accounts. Maybe he could revitalize his career but he needs sometime in a non-dysfunctional place to be a backup for a little bit with a good offensive staff in place. I just personally don't see it with his issues. Other than his splash plays, there isn't a lot of positives in his game.
