  1. Peacock isn’t going to survive long anyway. The NFL isn’t going to save it.
  2. Bill wants to beat Shula’s win total record. He’s not doing that here.
  3. The coach they just fired was being paid $4 million a year. That has to be the lowest paid HC job out there.
  4. The chargers are really cheap. No way they will pay him what he wants.
  5. Bill wants to take the wins record from Shula. He needs 7-10 wins a season over the next 4 years to do that. This team is not getting him there.
  6. There is a reason all the owners who came out of the Steelers org are heavily involved. It’s what was modeled for them by Art Rooney. Tepper is just really inexperienced so his involvement hurts. He doesn’t have a lifetime of institutional knowledge to pull from. He needs to pull away until he has 20 years under his belt.
  7. A LOT of owners are heavily involved. They are just not loud about it. I’ve heard enough retired scouts and coaches say this over the years to believe it’s more the norm than we think. Lurie has always been very involved. He famously had weekly Monday morning meetings with Pederson during their Super Bowl winning year where Lurie would make suggestions and criticize Pederson for in game decisions.
  8. I think that was sports illustrated.
  9. It wasn’t to brag about talent. It was to massage the egos of that talent. Another theory is ESPN thought it was dumb that only producers received awards if a show won something, so they decided to get a few extra trophies (via phony names) to give to the on air people.
  10. He interviewed twice last year.
  11. I feel bad for whoever takes that Alabama job. Expectations will be impossible to meet.
  12. Everyone told him Disney would meddle with his show. He thought it would be different with him because of his ‘contact’. I’m sure he’s regretting the decision now.
  13. Tepper will get whoever the other teams don’t want.
  14. Pete isn’t on the market. He’s stepping down and becoming an advisor for Seattle. He’s basically retiring.
  15. Totally get that. But…as Julien Edelman said…”we worked for Belachick…we played for Tom”. X and Os don’t matter if the team isn’t motivated. Ben might be great. Who knows.
  16. I know everyone is saying wrong order, but this is the modern NFL. Coaches run the show now. The GM is just there for talent procurement and doing what the coaches want.
  17. The 2023 team completely gave up at the end. Back to back shutouts gives them my vote.
  18. Considering Tepper knows who advocated for what…This tells me he had different ideas and can’t be held accountable for past decisions. Or at least Dan doesn’t think he can. I mean, there is no way he would interview if he was a driving force for Ickey, Bryce, etc. He must think he can go in and say, you guys screwed up, this is what I wanted, this is what we’ll do.
  19. I’d take Vrabel. He’s a solid couch who built a great culture. He would have gone much further with a good QB.
  20. Yeah, he could work there.
  21. But can Ben do what he does without that guy bringing the team together?
  22. I’m not sold on those lions assistants. Dan Campbell is what makes that team go.
  23. Right, but they have the freedom to get anyone they want.
  24. The new falcons HC won’t be tied to a particular QB. That will make that opening much more attractive.
