  1. Teddy Bridgewater's game is so conservative it makes Ronald Regan look like Bernie Sanders
  2. Twitter thread below: Very last tweet is not surprising in the least:
  3. Some guy went through PFR and charted how well each team has done at drafting based on overall Player AV (Approximate Value) and their expected AV based on where they were drafted. So guys drafted in top 10 should have better careers than guys in the bottom 10 of the first, 2nd rounders should be better than 3rd rounders, etc. Below are the results. https://danmorse.shinyapps.io/nfl-draft-value-over-expectation/ Seems like there was some common denominator for almost all those red years... Can't quite put my finger on it though... And because we got a shiny new GM, here's how his team has done in that same timeframe:
  4. Trade up for Wilson at either 2 or 3, give up our first and 3rd and 1st + 3rd next year and then take rondale moore in the 2nd and I'd be ok with that.
  5. 16-17 Mill Per for 4+ years is going to be a steal in 2 years. Don't be surprised to see a Tackle break 20mill next offseason... Or hell, this offseason.
  6. That organization and it's style of football is really going to take the 90's by storm.
  7. https://sportsnaut.com/25-worst-nfl-free-agency-contracts-of-the-past-20-years/ Kalil didn't make this list. Or this one: https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nfl/list/worst-nfl-free-agency-contracts/48fkz11nzo0c1e8x4m1tv44v5/10 There are plenty of contracts that are way worse than Kalil.
  8. Whitworth was available but aging and didn't want to come here anyway. Still, could have had him if we tried hard enough... Maybe?
  9. FA signings? Absolutely. Overall contracts including extensions? Actually debatable.
  10. Verge and I have the same ranking for QBs. Dope.
  11. Ok, so the competition argument is a bit overrated for QBs specifically. What you are looking for in a QB prospect are traits that can translate well to the NFL: Makes progressions Strong Arm Throws guys open Coachable NFL Body type etc. If a prospect ticks a lot of those boxes, it really doesn't matter where he played. The fact that he DOMINATED at that level also helps his stock tremendously. There's also the whole background of the prospect that might determine how and why they are playing where they are. Look at Josh Allen for example: Allen lived on a farm in High School and about 6-foot-3 and 180 pounds. He hadn't attended the elite quarterback camps and wasn't a widely known prospect. His high school team didn't participate in many 7-on-7 camps because Josh and many of his teammates were busy playing baseball and other sports. A lot of his shortcomings were entirely fixable - footwork, inconsistent accuracy (which was entirely due to poor footwork), lack of experience, lack of competition, etc. Dude was incredibly coachable and received some MVP votes this year. He's obviously best case scenario, but there are other examples of QBs being successful in the NFL even though they didn't play in the best divisions in college.
  12. I don't hate it. Lance is my #3 QB. We need a QB. We would be picking in the #3 spot after my first two QBs are taken. Gimmie
  13. I'm getting more of a Rasputin vibe. They both are highly religious cult leaders that claimed to be helping people spiritually. They used their religion/spiritualism to gain favor with the Tsar (Rasputin) and Cal McNair (Easterby) They used their favor to gain massive influence. Rasputin became the de facto head religious figure in Russia (kinda) and Easterby essentially controls the Texans’ front office on top of being the team’s chaplain Easterby’s and Rasputin’s rise to power subsequently cause controversy and mass hysteria. Both the royal family and the Texans began to collapse around the same time. Under both of their influences, there was/is a massive sense of dread and paranoia among the Russian people and Texans fans regarding them. Within the Texans organization and Russian palace, Easterby and Rasputin were known to spy on people. Rasputin kept eyes on the Tsar’s court and Easterby on Texans’ players and employees.
  14. Who does it say we take after the trade?
  15. I agree he will get in, but like thefuzz said, there's a logjam at WR. He might not be first ballot but he'll get in eventually. The better question is Greg Olsen. Is he a HOFer? A few years back I got reamed for saying no, and I still don't think he quite is. Hall of very good, but not HOF.
  16. Also those shitting on minshew for "getting benched" last year, he tore a ligament in his thumb and tried to play through it. Then he got benched when they found out he was injured. That roster was tanking after week 4.
  17. I'd take minshew over teddy in a heartbeat. Cheaper, higher ceiling, and already thrown for more TDs in a season than teddy ever has in two years of limited work.
  18. I think Curtis covered more ground in the same amount of time as Ginn did.
  19. I dunno man. I like a lot of what I see from him as a prospect in terms of potential. I don't necessarily think he'll be ready day 1, but I think he has the potential to be really good given time to develop (much like Lance).
  20. I have Lance over Fields on my QB list: Lawrence Wilson Lance Fields Jones
  21. For reasons you listed above I have absolutely no qualms with Luke stepping away before turning 30. Fun as hell to watch him play, but I hope he got out soon enough to where he can still live a normal life without severe physical pain on the daily.
  22. That was deeper and more profound than I ever thought he could ever be. He's not wrong at all. Looks like he got some therapy after retiring. Not a bad thing.
